I got a Brazilian wax and the person I had was with Michelle, she was so GOOD! Friendly, sweet, knowledgeable and very professional. I had bad experiences in the past and with bad waxers. That's leaves me not wanting to get my wax done. But being there at Gloss Beauty especially Michelle made the entire process smooth. I love the after effect that my skin was so smooth and it didn't leave any bumps or marks. Definitely coming back to see Michelle again!! I've been seeing Michelle for all of my facials needs since I was 21 (almost 30 years old now). She's amazingly thorough, precise and meticulous in her work. Nothing disappoints me more than feeling like my extractions weren't fully addressed but I've never felt that way with Michelle's facials. She is also unofficially dubbed the "Brow Queen" in my book. Gloss Beauty is exactly that. Sleek, clean, beautifully curated retail products with a chic atmosphere. I lovee the cockatoo wallpaper behind the front desk. The treatment rooms itself are well furnished with plush rugs, soft fluffy blankets and table beds. Awful experience. Very disappointing. I had to cancel an appointment for a bikini wax because I was sick, a month later to when I rescheduled, I had to cancel again due to health reasons. I love coming here for facials SO. MUCH. The decor, service, scents, and pure relaxation vibes are everything. I usually get my facials from Ruby and have also seen Michelle as well. Both are such a sweet, funny, and educated esthetician. My latest facial with Ruby really made me feel like I had new skin! She does not mess around! I always come out of there knowing that every single one of my pores has been cleaned. I have sensitive skin, so when I told her that I sometimes get nervous of extreme or spicy peels she was super considerate and is constantly asking me if whatever she puts on my face is comfortable. I appreciate the attention to pays to my needs and requests. Oh, and the arm/neck massages during the facials are AMAZZZINGGGGG and so needed! Where Tess goes, so does my skin! Tess has evolved to become Bloom Face & Body, and is now much more conveniently located (for me) in Kentfield. My previous post for her stands: +++ I was not blessed with great skin - thick, clogged and ashen. I put my face in Tess's hands, and have been so pleased with the results. I won't say that there is any magic involved - just a spirit of educated trial and error. I have brought in a bag full of junk and gunk from others and had Tess help me sort through it, and (yes, I need this kind of thing) even label what time of day to use it.+++ I love the product lines she carries for their quality (Rhonda Allison, Osea, etc) and love that Tess focuses on sourcing from local, women-owned businesses. Finally, Tess. A down-to-Earth, working Mom who so GETS it. Mellow, funny, and both tough (on extractions) and gifted (on massage). What a beautiful place Gloss is! I had booked a 90min facial with Michelle and was excited to see her new digs in Larkspur. As soon as i walked in i was warmly met by the owner, Tess, who was at work behind the front desk. Michelle came out to greet me and gave me a tour of the space. It's open, bright, and very comfortable with 4 treatment rooms and a nice open lounge. Sometimes I like to specify all the products that I'd like to use in my session but today i left it totally up to Michelle to decide what was best. She knows what she's doing! I've been getting facials for many years and for the most part i feel a lot of people out there are just doing average work. Not with Michelle! I was really impressed with her various techniques! Lets be honest. Mostly anyone can apply these facial products to their own face and get the same results that another would get using the same products. While Michelle was applying each product i experienced a different method of application with every single thing she put on me! One minute she's cleansing with circular motions, the next cross friction, after that a relaxing tapotmont, followed by a stimulating percussion. I didn't know what to expect next and it was really enjoyable each time. Michelle is amazing at extractions! I have very sensitive skin and am prone to broken capillaries if too much pressure is used and usually am red and swollen for 1-2days after my treatments. I loved that she addressed every area that i was wanting her to focus on and extract and didn't hurt my face. And she uses these jade ice cold facial rollers very skillfully that are HEAVENLY! An hour after my treatment and not a red spot to be seen. Another favorite part of facials for me is the massage and she's just as talented with that aspect. You can always tell the difference between someone who enjoys what they do, and someone just going through the motions. Being a bodyworker myself, i'm always paying attention to the quality of touch i get and she wasn't giving me anything less than her full attention to detail and technique! OMG thank god and what a difference it makes! Lastly, I loved that for the last half of my appt she got quiet and just let me have my experience. For me, thats a really important part. I go to esti's to have a wonderful healing experience and a big part of that is just being able to silently receive the healing. I'm so happy that she gets that! I felt so relaxed and taken care of; I'm beaming right now just thinking about my treatment, and that was yesterday! Can't wait to go back for my next treatment. I feel confident that I can send anyone else her way and they will be impressed with her skill set. I also look forward to experiencing her Micro-needling! The studio and treatment rooms are tastefully appointed, extremely inviting, and the quality of the products that Charis used were top notch.
