From the outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake to the reception in their simple and modern event space, Crystal Lake was the prefect backdrop for our beautiful celebration. The food was also a highlight, and guests specifically told me how much they enjoyed their meal. I'm so happy we chose Crystal Lake for our wedding. Crystal Lake is a very popular wedding/event venue and there may be more than one event the week or even weekend of your wedding, so my one tip is to decide early if you want other events your wedding weekend (like your rehearsal dinner) to also be at Crystal Lake so that you can get on their calendar. My family owned a well-known restaurant in Providence RI for years called Alfredo's. So we came here last night, Saturday on the recommendation from someone my mother knows. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted at the door by the maitre'd. We felt welcomed. We were then seated at a table in the main dining room. It was clean and classy. We had a wonderful waiter named Velat. He was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He was also very attentive. He gave us world-class service because he cleared plates and made sure that the bread and the water was filled and removed old silverware and replaced them. We had an eggplant appetizer along with stuffed mushrooms. I also had a Caprice mozzarella salad that I shared with a friend of mine. Then came the salads, they were delicious, cold and fresh. I liked that the blue cheese dressing was homemade and you could tell by the taste. I had the chicken parmesan with ziti. The food was excellent. The chicken was very tender. When we were finished with dinner he brought the dessert tray with many of the desserts made in-house. Although we didn't get the dessert because we were going home to a birthday party. Beware, this IS a homeless hotel. I stayed here 1/23-1/26. At breakfast at 7am on 1/24 there were…read moreonly homeless people, very dirty looking, and 2 of them were shaking from drug use while eating with their hands out of the hot bar. Staff took my complaint and seemed like this type of activity was normal. There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling of my room. I had to clean the HVAC filters in my room for the heat to work. The hot water stopped working because they don't maintain the building systems, this was on my last night and they had no plan to fix it, just told me it was normal. Manager Jocelyn told me I would receive a refund and when I called the next day to ask where my refund was she told me it wasn't happening. Manager Jocelyn, worker Kathy, and resident drug addict Walter (missing teeth and dirty) told me to never return to their hotel. Walter followed me into the parking lot and physically threatened me with the manager Jocelyn and worker Kathy standing by his side. The hotel claims to not allow pets, however, I saw at least 5 pets on this stay. One of them was completely untrained and almost jumped on me as the owner was loosely holding it. It was NOT a service animal. This hotel is extremely dangerous and if you are traveling from out of state you NEED to pick another hotel for your health and safety.

My husband told me to stay in the car so he could investigate before we emptied the car. He came out 10min later with a canceled reservation receipt in hand. He said it was very outdated and smelled funky. He asked to see the room and found it just as smelly. The gentleman at the desk was reluctant to cancel our reservation until he noticed we had only booked it 2hrs before we arrived. Not worth any price nevermind the $156 we reserved it for.

One of the most important things to me about my wedding was that I wanted everyone to have fun. I wanted people to leave saying that they had the best time. I knew that the music was probably the most important part in that, and Brett gave us all the best night ever!! Not one single person was sitting in their seats the whole night!!! I can't remember how we found about him but we hired him for our wedding at the Peabody Essex Museum even though I was living in Maryland at the time. We never met face to face and had all of our meetings by phone. He was super easy to work with and always professional. My husband and I aren't super duper into music, I just knew that I wanted a party that didn't stop. I wanted everyone on the dance floor the whole night. I also knew I wanted more of a "club" feel than a traditional wedding/bat mitzvah. So we told Brett none of the traditional "party" songs or dances like YMCA, twist and shout, etc. And then we just crossed our fingers and hoped that he listened to our requests. And he did! Our party was rockin' everyone danced the WHOLE night and it was seriously one of the best weddings I have ever been too. 7 years later our friends still talk about our wedding and how much fun it was, and I attribute a lot of that to Brett. Not only did he listen and abide by our requests, but when a wedding guest requested the YMCA he pulled my husband aside and asked if it was ok. My husband said no and he did NOT play it! I really can't say enough good things, I want to renew my vows just so we can have another party!
