If anyone can solve an electrical problem, it is Jacob. He managed to solve all of our electrical problems. We had a long list on our need to be fixed list. Some of our issues were as simple as changing a GFI and some were more complex. He came in prepared and organized and when he left the area that he worked at was cleaner than when he came in. He is knowledgable, efficient and straight forward. Watching him work, it seems like he can do what he is doing with his eyes shut. Despite the unexpected issues that he encountered, his final invoice was even within the estimate that he had quoted us. Highly reccomend him. read more

Jacob called me on my phone when I requested an estimate on installing my new vent fan/light in my bathroom. Over the phone he quoted me $150-250 and scheduled me for Monday morning. I had another quote from a different electrician for the same amount and day. I followed up via text with Jacob on the estimate and he replied $175-$250. I decided to go with the other electrician and canceled my appointment with Jacob via text. He immediately called me and convinced me to reschedule with him. Right after, I called him back regarding the quote of $150 and he said it's not a big difference and he would do a great job for $175, so I reconfirmed my appointment again. When Jacob showed up, I told him to put all of the trash in a black bag. He installed the vent fan/light, but he didn't put the old vent fan/light in the black bag. I think he left the old vent fan/light in the attic. I didn't realize this until after he left. There is no easy access to my attic so I guess it's just going to stay there. He also didn't have the circuit turned off, so not sure how he was able to install the vent fan/light without turning off the power source. When he was done and it was time for me to pay, he wanted me to write a check personally to him. There is a way to pay via app to his business but he said no. I guess he wanted to nickel and dime this by not having to pay fees with credit cards. I posted a similar review on a different app and he immediately called me. He's called me 4 times and left me one message saying that he'll pay back the difference of the original quote to what I paid and then he wants me to remove my review because it will ruin his business. I don't think giving 3/5 stars will ruin him. One star off for not removing the old vent fan/light properly and one more star off for the payment issues. I deeply regret not going with my original choice electrician. read more

A guy named cobe came to install all the stuff we purchased and his work was very clean and professional. From the minute I met Jacob when he came out to give me the estimate until he just wrapped up 2 full days of effort I have found him to be professional, timely, and perform top quality work. He has made meaningful suggestions on improvements and also how to do things in a cost-effective manner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others and also have him do additional efforts in the future. Purchased 3 ceiling fans, and ceiling LED lights for three bedrooms. Jacob came to install everything today, showing up right on time. He reviewed everything with us to make sure we agreed on the placement of all lights. He then installed everything to our complete satisfaction. When the job was completed, he vacuumed all the rooms that he worked in. This was the first time we used Global Source Lighting. The prices were fair. My husband and I were looking for pendant lights to hang over our kitchen island for the longest time. We saw Global Source Lighting's sign from the freeway and decided to give it a shot... Before I proceed I have to say that me and my husband are super picky and it takes us forever to decide on decor design! From the moment we walked in Jacob understood what we liked and helped us find the perfect pendant lights to fit our kitchen size and design... As I said, because we are so picky, it took us 2 trips to come to the store and about 4-5 hours combined in store (!!!) to decide going through hundreds of options... Throughout this entire time Jacob was the most patient, knowledgeable, friendly and professional person we have dealt with. We bought many lights from this couple adding up to around $4,000. 4 lights were for a stairway. We ordered horizontal ones. We know this for sure because my husband put in the electrical boxes himself. He mistakenly put them in vertically. We went to Global Source Lighting to buy the stair lights and ask Jacob (owner), whom we had dealt with before, what he would charge to change out the electrical boxes to horizontal. Jacob quoted $300. Husband decided to do the job himself. At that time we ordered the 4 horizontal stairway lights. The lights came in vertical, not horizontal. My husband returned. Jacob said, no problem, he would return them and get the horizontal ones, but there would be a charge of $300 for the new order. My husband not knowing what was going on, paid the $300. I called Jacob and went round and round with why the $300 - it was not our mistake... if we paid the $300 we would actually be paying $700 + for 4 small stairway lights! Jacob finally agreed to refund the $300. I felt, even tho we should never have been charged $300 for returning a mistake on their part - Jacob was a good guy. While waiting for the horizontal lights to come in, I went back to Global Source and bought a Pendent light, which was hanging in their shop for $600 +. I dealt with Jacobs wife this time. I told her I wasn't sure if the Pendent light was going to work. I was reassured there would be no problem bringing it back. It did not work out, so I returned the Pendent light a week or so later. Jacobs brother was working in the shop that day. I said I would keep looking in their on-line store for a replacement, but if I didn't find anything else in their shop/catalog could I get my money back. I was again reassured - no problem. 1 week later after looking endlessly, I return to the store and said I would like my money back as I couldn't find anything else from their catalog/on-line/in their shop. I was told no, I would have to take it up with Jacob. Numerous calls to him went unanswered. Finally our Contractor said he would call Jacob and speak to him in Hebrew to help get a better understanding of what needed to be done. Jacob agreed to refund $475. Jacob said due to having to pay for the shipping cost of the new horizontal stairway lights, he thought that was fair. Our contractor told us to live with it, at least we got some of our money back. I'm sorry this is so long, but feel anyone looking to do business with this company should know what it's like to deal with Jacob, his wife and brother. WE FEEL TAKEN - BE WARE! read more

I met and made a deal with the owner, Jacob, for two chandeliers and two sconces. The price was fair and included LED bulbs for the lights. Before he came over, he called to ask the height of the ceiling, which was just over 17 feet. When Jacob himself showed up to install the lighting, he came in complaining that he had to rent a large ladder for the job, $45. I pulled $45 in cash out of my purse and gave it to him. He then complained that he had to spend extra on the extra length of chain he had to purchase, even though he was fully aware of the high ceilings. He completed the installation and informed me that the LED bulbs were on order, but that he had spent so much money already, I would still have to pay for them, about $60.00. I don't approve of renegotiation of a deal and will definitely NOT recommend this company to anyone! Don't just order some lights online-- go into this store and get the benefit of the free design advice. We walked in knowing only one thing: we hated the chandelier in our home's entryway. We looked at several options for updated chandeliers, showed Jacob pictures of our staircase and entryway, and whined about what we hated and what we wished we could create as the look upon entering our home. Jacob suggested pendant lighting we never would have thought of, and he installed it beautifully. This lighting absolutely transforms our home.
