Nice variety of tea , but it was a bit confusing for me when i entered if it is a jewelry and clothing store or a tea place. They dont have trays and you carry the hot pot in your hand along with cups. A bit unsafe for me. Outdoor seats are nice , but the indoor seat seemd chaotic a little. Don't sleep on Global Infusion - it's so much more than just a tea shop. They do carry a lot of loose leaf tea, but you can also get bulk spices (for cooking and medicinal uses) and spice blends. You can bring in your own containers for the spices, which is really nice. The employees are all super friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to selecting tea from their massive inventory. In addition to tea and spices, they also sell a wide variety of unique, handmade, fair trade gifts like scarves, accessories, pottery and houseware items, and more. They also have a great selection of fair trade chocolate and sweets, so you can definitely find a gift for anyone here. I love getting a drink to sip on while I browse the store - the iced blueberry rooibos mixed with lemonade is my favorite for warm weather months. They also have seasonal drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, and hot teas available. There is a cute seating area in the shop too if you want to relax. This place is pure heaven! So many beautiful, organic tea blends, and an awesome experience all around. Going up to the bar can feel intimidating because there are so many jars of teas, but they help you through the process, to find the best blends for you with an easy to follow menu. They let you smell the blends before you choose, and come from wealth of knowledge and experience in their guidance, There is a cozy ambiance to the space; a wall of hand crafted goods like gloves, bags, accessories, gorgeous tea mugs, organic herbs and spice blends, and a hot beverage bar with a cute seating area Taboot! It is tucked away in a cute little mall with a consignment show on one side, and an eco friendly clothing store on the other. The eco-friendly clothing store opens at 1:30 pm, so plan accordingly. A great local spot in Grand Rapids that I will make a regular trip to from now on. I am still smiling from the friendly customer service, as I enjoy my second cup of cinnamon plum tea! read more

This place is just outstanding! Was in there yesterday afternoon - the first thing you notice when you step inside is that it smells like heaven, the second thing you notice is big kind smiles and fantastic customer service as you are welcomed into the shop. They were out of one of their blends but had the ingredients, so they quick mixed some up for me while I sipped a really beautiful cup of chai made with steamed coconut milk. Lovely!!! read more

I didn't get a chance to take photos of how cute the shop is but they have many things including a wall of spices, herbs and teas! I went in here looking for a tea, I was greeted with a friendly, hello and smiles, the owner of the shop is super sweet and there's so many tea flavors, you can make anything out of the different teas like a milk tea latte or something . My cousin was jonesing for a cup of joe. So we wandered over here to get her a fix. She said her coffee was tasty so on that front. I wandered around and looked at all their fair trade gifts while she caffeinated. And they had a really interesting and sweet selection. PLUS they had a nice number of teas which is always a positive for me. The vibe was eclectic and the seating looked comfortable and no one shushed as we talked about the merchandise so all positive. Global infusion is fantastic! Such an intimately lovely hidden gem of a place. At least 100 brilliantly flavored tea options, all unique and fresh. They have a whole wall of tea, well-organized by variety (black, green, oolong, herbal, etc...). Every option you could possibly want or imagine. It's kind of like my adult candy store. Plus full coffee/espresso menu and all the snacks! The staff are all great/helpful, the gift shop area with so many awesome trinkets and imported (often handmade) do-dads from exotic places. Every little space there fabulously arranged with perfect feng shui-sensibility. The seating area is sparse, like only 5 or so tables, but as of late, i honestly like nothing better than colonizing one of the tables by the window, where i spend my days off reading manga and getting work done. I had a sort of selfish moment before writing this review where i was like maybe i shouldn't write this review because i'll slightly contribute it to this place becoming more popular (out of fear of going there one day and not being able to get a seat lol), but alas, the secret is out! Come here! Even if just for a to-go tea or shopping for cool birthday gift for your best friend, you won't regret your visit! read more

Walking through the door you get hit with a multitude of fragrances from all the teas they have on display on their far right wall - tea lovers heaven! I do love tea but I love coffee better and today I came to enjoy coffee with a friend. I enjoy their spread of coffee options, with offerings not available at a lot of shops around town. Today's special was a Spicy Tumeric Chai. I am still a basic coffee drinker and enjoyed just a hot brewed coffee. They also offer a lot of coffee options that are through fair-trade and organic sources - sold in whole beans but have the ability to grind the beans before you leave. I enjoy buying whole beans from here to bring home, as they great options for a good price. The downside for me is the small number of tables and chairs available to sit and enjoy your coffee or tea at, as well as the small parking lot. I try and go at an off hour for better chances of getting a parking spot in the lot. read more

On a wet, cold, dreary day, I needed some tea to brighten my spirts. Remembering Global Infusion's floor to ceiling shelves, it was a no brainer to stop in for a warm up. Craving licorice tea specifically (something that's hard to find elsewhere), the friendly staff/tea guru showed me 5 different kinds of teas, all with licorice notes. Heaven! My tea haul today consisted of 5 totally new to me, amazingly sented teas for my mug. This tea is hardy too- none of that powder stuff- you can see and most importantly taste the natural flavor. A few cups of this, and I may just make it through another Michigan winter. read more

Excellent tea, and I do mean excellent. I am not really that into tea, but I decided to study there, and I loved the tea I had. It had a natural sweetness to it, I did not even add any sugar. My only minor complaint is that the workers, while very very nice, were just too loud when talking with other customers. Got the chai tea here, and it was tops. No concentrates used here: this stuff is legit! I nearly went to a different nearby coffee shop, but a friend set me straight- and thank goodness! I am so grateful to have this store / coffee & tea shop in my neighborhood. It is one of the best stores in town and their whole focus is on fair trade goods... so, not only do they have cool stuff, but none of it is made in sweatshops. I love buying unique gifts there, and the women who run the store are always super helpful and friendly. When you stop in, ask them to show you their loose-leaf Jasmine Green tea and take a whiff to experience the unique smell. If you dig it, grab some. It's a steal at only $2.15 per ounce. And, if you're not familiar with brewing loose-leaf, don't be intimidated. They have everything you need (which isn't much) right there for you to purchase inexpensively. I'm new to tea and everything that it entails, but the staff here was super friendly in helping me find things that I may like. There's a wall of jars that you can open and smell. You can either take the jar to the counter and have them make you a drink from it or you can take the jar to the self serve station and fill up baggies to go home. I went in the first time and tried their sweet matcha so I knew that I liked that. Today when I went in, I explained that I liked it and asked for suggestions on what else I may like. The girl who helped me (I don't remember her name unfortunately) gave me a few suggestions on things I can add to my matcha and other teas that are similar that I might like. She also gave me some information that I could look into when I got home if interested. Everyone was super willing to help and I would definitely go back. As for how their tea tastes, I'm sure it's good. Again I'm new so I'm not sure what constitutes good vs. bad tea but I enjoy it :) read more

This is probably the best place in GR and quite possibly one of the best places in all of Michigan for tea. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon it on a road trip around Thanksgiving. I had looked for a nice tea shop on Yelp, but we were even more excited when we entered the place. Excellent selection of tea and chocolates, as well as fair trade items from around the globe. I loved their cookbook selection! The staff was very knowledgeable and very sweet. If I were to make any suggestions to bring it up to a 5-Star, it would simply to make the seating area more comfortable (perhaps Moroccan cloth on the ceiling to make it more intimate; softer seating and global mood music).
