If I ever need a pick me up or a gift for myself or someone else, I always stop by Rebel. This perfectly curated shop is by far my favorite local store in the area. Owners Chip and Dann have great eyes for detail and always find the cutest, most clever and irreverent, beautiful things to stock at their cheery store. I honestly think you could find something for anyone at Rebel. They have housewares, snacks, books, puzzles, art, toys, jewelry, candles, cards, plants, decor, bath and body products, tons of great gift ideas, and so much more. Every inch of the store has something to discover, but it's all displayed beautifully without feeling super cramped. It can get busy, especially on weekends. Parking is available on the side street, so you may have to walk a bit. I've bought so many gifts at Rebel over the past decade+ and I always walk out with a smile on my face. If you like Christmas, don't miss checking out the shop around the holidays as they go all out with decor and it's so magical. They always have a great selection of super fun and unique ornaments around the holidays. They'll gift wrap anything you buy for free, which has saved me many times when I'm looking for a last minute gift. The employees are all so kind and friendly. Rebel has long been my favorite place for finding gifts! Dann and Chip have created magic in a retail setting that feels like your best friends place. I go there when I need a gift, when I need a laugh and when I need a hug and it delivers! The staff is helpful and kind and the items are so fun to browse. I usually do a once through of the entire space and then a slower second browse. I've never had a bad experience. I can tell the recipients of the gifts or cards enjoy them as much as I enjoy giving them. Walked in here today, it was very busy for a Sunday afternoon! This was my customer experience: First thing I noticed was the very high prices on items that should be less. But then again, I'm not an owner in what seems to be a high rent district.... I just would never pay close to $30 for a candle. It was also heavy on "black lives matter" memorabilia items and same sex novelties. I really chuckled at the "Karen's" coloring book, lololol. Every window was advertising gay pride and BLM type items. I'm certainly not bigoted, but it was somewhat of an overboard effort between businesses to show who had the most gay pride. Both are very complex subjects that would put this review on the razors edge of violating Yelps community guidelines. I am just laying out my customer experience... Overall, I was uncomfortable, just not my thing. I believe wholeheartedly that I shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable in a business, so I exited. Wow! As far as cool, fun, eclectic, funky shops go for gifts and fun knic-nacks to buy this place has it all. There is a lot shoved into this small space and yet it flows well, feels open and well laid out. The staff were super nice and gift wrapped some of the items for us too. We got fun mugs, stickers, journals, cards, and cookie cutters! So much we had to say no to, but the stuff we found was perfect for each of the people were were shopping for. Fantastic little shop featuring some delightful home decor, jewelry, accessories, stationary, etc at incredibly reasonable prices. Lots of really cute necklaces and hair accessories, candles, prints, tote bags, and more. It's a small shop but they pack it full of fabulous finds. I managed to spend a significant amount of time in there admiring everything and walked out with a new art piece that I adore for just $21! I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing most of the items in there are made by local artists. There is plenty of Grand Rapids/Michigan love represented there, at least. I also LOVE how much natural light floods into the store front. Choosing a corner suite with lots of windows was a GREAT choice! Rebel has cards for literally every occasion you could possibly think of. They also have a great selection of jewelry, plants, candles, books, prints, and all sorts of cute knick knacks in between! Before I stepped foot in this shop, I knew about it because I would receive gifts from my GRR based cousin from here. So while I was in town this past weekend, I was able to wander in myself. Supercute stock, lots of Michigan themed items (man, they love their mitten shape even more than Louisiana loves it's boot), and items for everyone on your list, even you. Loved all the snarky, feminista, rainbow and nerd options...those cover 95% of my friends so yay. Also learned that they will be moving to a larger space nearby soon which is great because I may have been trapped in a corner by other shoppers. The owners were charming and friendly. I would literally love to buy the whole store! When you go to rebel reclaimed, make sure you give yourself some time to really look around. Everything is staged and placed nicely on display, but if you look too quickly you are going to miss out on some wonderful hidden gems! I literally think there is something for anyone in this store. This is one of my favorite stores in all of Grand Rapids! It's the cutest store ever! They have so many unique items here... you're bound to find something you love! I always love looking at their plants and adorable planters! One thing I will say... don't forget to head towards the back of the store to check out their little clearance section! I always find the best goodies back there at an awesome discounted price! And one of my favorite aspects of this store? They let you bring your dog in! :) It's always so nice when you can bring your pup shopping with you! They were so welcoming of my little Doxie, and asked all about him. Awesome store with a ton of gift items. The name of the store was a bit misleading though; there are no "reclaimed" items or up-cycled things. They have a good selection of themed items though; bar, baby, pets, cooking, plants, etc. A bit over priced, but that's how most stores like this one are priced I guess. A truly charming and delightful gift shop! I stopped in Saturday and was met with plenty of unique greeting cards, funny knick knacks, special little gifts, and unique odds and ends to choose from. I would normally have given Rebel Reclaimed 5 stars because I love everything they sell and come here every time I come back into town. However I was just there with my brothers and my boyfriend and had the worst experience. The store was very full so when we walked in my younger brother accidentally tripped over their door stop. The owner of the shop came over and started yelling at him saying that he kicked it. He then proceeded to try and fight my boyfriend saying repeatedly "you wanna go!?" in front of the entire store. I was honestly in shock. His actions were extremely unprofessional and I can without a doubt say that I will never be in his store again. If I could give this store zero stars I would. read more
