I have…read morea 9 1/2 year old chronic surgical wound caused by a doctor who missed all of my indicators for a venous insufficiency disorder and failed to plan for that in my surgery and recovery. Not to dismiss all of the previous specialists, but the R3 Lewisville nurse and admin/insurance person, Katy and Brandy, took the initiative when I ran out of insurance covered options and went back to my carriers to say, you have to give us something to work with (I've done a lot of different treatment attempts). Though I had been told by the other facilities that hyperbaric chamber treatment would not be covered, Brandy and Katy were able to convince my carriers to cover the treatment. Several doctors had told me hyperbaric was the most likely way to heal my wound, and I was saving for it. Brandy and Katy's care and expertise have opened the potential to heal this almost 10-year old wound. I can't say enough nice things about this clinic. Their boss should read this and give them both raises. They are smart, motivated, and care about their patients.

I was very nervous on my first visit but the nurses really eased that anxiety before the doctor even came in. I appreciate how much they explain everything they are doing be it big or small and that they really mean it when they say to call if you have any questions or concerns. Jacq has been amazing at both visits and when I had to call the next day to ask for clarification about something. My wounds are being stubborn to heal but I feel confident that I'm in the right hands and if they ever do need help to get me better I'm confident they will refer me to the necessary doctors to do so. Every week, the doctor came in, and "trimmed" the wound. After 5 months, it was the size of a golf ball. You could see bone at the bottom. Told us to seek another opinion. A nice podiatrist at another location took care of the problem within a month. HEB's billing system is so messed up, they cannot keep up with weekly visits. We were still getting bills a year later from this place. They admitted that their billing system needs work. This place cost me a toe, a quarter of the side of my foot, two months of inter-venous antibiotics, due to a bone infection from their "trimming". The other podiatrist said if I had come to him two months earlier, all that could have been avoided. Do not go here, for wound treatment! If I could give zero stars, I would.

From personal experience, I can say that this particular type of hyperbaric chamber may not be…read moresuitable for everyone. I experienced significant anxiety while using it. The setup involves placing a ring around the neck and a hood over the entire head, which severely limits visibility and can feel restrictive. For individuals with a history of PTSD or sensitivity to enclosed spaces, such as myself, this configuration can be especially distressing. Due to my own trauma history, I found the hood and neck apparatus intolerable and ultimately chose to continue hyperbaric treatment elsewhere that offered a single-person chamber. Unfortunately, once my doctor at US Wound Care became aware that I was receiving monoplace hyperbaric therapy elsewhere, she refused to coordinate care and allow me to continue seeing her for my wound care. I was dismissed as a patient effective immediately. If you find a very snug rubber circle object around your neck and a hood over your head for 90+ minutes difficult to imagine, then this type of chamber will be difficult for you to tolerate. I strongly recommend exploring alternative wound care centers that offer different equipment and a more flexible approach to patient needs otherwise, it's just a waste of your time to come here.

For us this is a great way to start with a new doctor and stay for a very long time. The staff is very friendly. The wait time is minimal due to the few patients. Dr. Davalos and Evelyn (nurse) speak Spanish which is a plus for my wife. I don't know if the rest if the staff does, but I'm sure they can direct you with someone that does. Dr. Davalos is very detailed and explains everything so that you can understand it. I am very happy that we came here. I hope the service level stays the same for years to come.
