Ask the Community - Global Entry Enrollment Center

Anyone have info on when appointments might become available? I've been checking for appointments at this location for months now and always says "no appointments available." I've called multiple times — no answer. Any info is much appreciated!

I am eager to share my experience. I also have been monitoring the appointment status for a long time. I never saw an appointment available at Boston (or Rhode Island) but I did read one review saying there could occasionally be an appointment… Read more

When I've flown out of terminal A I'll usually treat myself to a pizza, but terminal B was slim pickings for me. There is a pretty nice view of the tarmac and the city so at least it's got that going for it. My main complaint is the water fountains (I know...this is the most entitled complaint ever). Not having a water bottle fill station is brutallllll. And the water pressure from the fountain is so weak, I stood there filling my bottle for a good 90 seconds and pressing the button with all my strength only to see I had killed 1/5 of my water bottle. Could definitely use some upgrades- I did see some new food options will be opening in the future so I'm looking forward to seeing what the new offers are. One standout worth noting: despite the DHS shutdown, somehow the TSA lines that seem to be plaguing other airports, were nowhere to be found at terminal B. I personally have TSA Precheck and it took me less than 10 min to get through the entire security, but it looked like the normal TSA line also was moving smoothly.

When we got back to Logan airport, my first shop was lost and found just to see if maybe somebody had turned it in. They had not but the guy who patiently looked for my hat was so nice and shout out to that dude. The TSA pre-check line was short and the process was very efficient. We left from one of the satellite gates, but the airport is very well signed and marked to make getting there easy. So, so clean and well lit. Lots of great restaurant options as well.

There is a lot of seating, there are comfortable places where you can plug in a laptop and work (and write Yelp reviews). There are multiple airline lounges (which I no longer qualify to access). There are food options ($15 for a 9" pizza?). There is free wifi that worked well. Here's my problem. I arrived on a domestic flight into Terminal A. There isn't an easy method for getting to Terminal E. Sure, you can leave the secure zone and follow the walkways (one path is totally protected from weather) but you'll need to be rescreened and that's a hassle. If you want to stay in the sterile zone, you get to ride a shuttle. I've ridden the Delta Jitney at JFK at least a dozen times. This isn't that. First, you'll queue at the elevator in the A satellite terminal (where there was strangely a passport check). Then you'll queue on a mezzanine. Then you board a crowded shuttle for a ride entirely around the airport to ride two escalators to the passenger concourse. 35 minutes start to finish. If you are connecting from domestic to international at BOS, leave sufficient amount of time for this PITA. [Review 1675 of 2024 - 1224 in Massachusetts - 22698 overall]

We found ourselves passed security and waiting for our gate to be posted 3.5 hours before our flight. Kudos to our Boston workers! One of the things I like about this terminal is that you can place a mobile Dunkin' order for one of their restaurants. While many waited in line, we went to the order ahead line and got our order. The other Dunkin at the same terminal does not take app orders or lets you use rewards or the app for payment. So if you are a repeat customer who uses the app, it might be worth the extra steps to go to the Dunkin' where you can skip the line and just pick your order rather than waiting in line.

Figuring out where to catch the rental car shuttle wasn't easy, especially the first time. It was a little better on our recent visit only because we knew what to expect. The layout isn't very intuitive, and the airport could really benefit from an overall update, including clearer and larger signs and more frequent rental car shuttles, especially during busy times. Baggage claim also took quite a while. Guess I'm spoiled because Tampa International Airport is so well laid out and has clear signage everywhere. Overall, it almost feels like the airport doesn't want you to leave, as directions aren't very obvious.

On a Sunday around 11:10am, all three of us were through security in a matter of minutes. I used PreCheck. There was a short line for PreCheck and no line for CLEAR. PreCheck and CLEAR had separate lines that led to the same place/agents. The only difference was people with CLEAR got priority over people with PreCheck. Therefore, airport staff allowed CLEAR members to cut ahead of the PreCheck line. It makes sense since CLEAR is more expensive and is supposed to be faster than PreCheck. My buddy and I got through PreCheck in about five minutes. If you travel with any sort of regularity, sign up for TSA PreCheck ($85 for 5 years) or Global Entry if you travel internationally ($100 for 5 years). The time savings and convenience are worth it. The programs are a better value now more than ever since they haven't increased in price in years. Along with the time you save, the convenience is you don't have to remove shoes, laptops, liquids, belts, and light jackets. Some credit cards cover both TSA PreCheck and Global Entry enrollment fees. Examples include the Capital One Venture Rewards Card, the Bank of America Premium Rewards Card, and the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card. CLEAR is available at fewer airports, but is supposed to be the fastest. It costs $189 per year. Various American Express cardholders and Delta SkyMiles and United MileagePlus members can get CLEAR for free or at a discount. On this visit to Logan, we all flew Delta home (RDU and ATL). Terminal A at Logan is primarily used by Delta.
