They are a small business so I waited a few months for the actual project but they were up front about timelines. They ended up doing it earlier than expected - which was a nice surprise. They are all so kind and communicate everything very well. What stood out to me is that they looked for potential areas where they could help me put by fixing something that wasn't even planned, but they always asked me ahead of time. There are things electricians will think of that I surely did not! Now my lights are brighter and I have them in more useful spots, I have a wired in smoke alarm and CO2 alarm, and I have quad outlets in several places! I highly recommend quad outlets - I never really thought about them before but wow - they make a huge difference! Also, Old Time Electric was so good with my dog. I had to be at work and leave her behind and she followed them around but they were so kind to her. She became so fond of them that she was over the moon excited to see their trucks pull up! This totally helped ease the stress of leaving her while they worked. I highly recommend this company and I am glad I followed the recommendations of my neighborhood. They did a great job in a 1915 craftsman home.

We had a home inspection done before contacting Nick's and knew these were the only issues. When the tech said there would be a $350 diagnostic fee, he even skipped a beat before adding 'per outlet.' I waited some time before posting this review, hoping to reexamine and think about what happened, but I know what happened. When I told the tech 'no', none of that would be happening, he said he would write it all up anyway, and send it. Nothing was ever sent. I stand by my review. Let me say that Papa Nick's was extremely responsive and did come out quickly. We needed a few loose outlets and a GFI replaced. Without yet checking any outlets, the technician immediately told me that our outlets actually all needed to be replaced but to just replace the ones we wanted there would be a $350. diagnostic charge PER OUTLET, but that the entire house should be rewired. That was going to be at the bargain price of $14,000. (Our house is only 20 years old, so there should be no need to rewire the entire house.) I told the tech over and over we were not going to rewire the whole house, but he kept it up. I asked if we could just do the work we wanted. 'Well, yes, but... ' We found another licensed electrician who came out and performed the work we needed done. $240. I hope I am wrong in thinking that I was being taken advantage of, but something just didn't add up.
