I've been going to this salon and had been pleased up until now. I came in and showed a picture of a design I wanted and asked if it could be done. I was told it could be done and they proceeded to take my polish I currently had off. After beginning the soaking process they then said they couldn't do the design. I would have left from the beginning if I was given an honest answer. A lot of conversation was said around me in Vietnamese which I know was about me that I did not appreciate. I was very calm and polite when asking why would you take my polish off if you could not do the design. They had me show the design to two different staff remembers and assure me it could be done. This nail salon came highly recommended to me by a student at Xavier University. I was visiting the school from out of town and was in desperate need of a pedicure ... I was super grateful that the salon took me as a walk-in! The salon is large, bright, and incredibly clean. Never going back again. I initially went to glo nails for a pedicure which they did a nice job on. However after returning for a simple acrylic French tip set, I DO NOT RECOMMEND. First the staff made me wait for almost 2 hrs and skipped my turn for a regular customer they have. The woman that did my nails seemed to be in a rush and carelessly went through putting on the acrylics. The drill hurt my fingers and the nails were very crooked. The picture below is just a day after I got them done... this is unacceptable. I wanted to love this place as it's in my neighborhood. For a mani/pedi I was there for over two hours. I left with one finger bleeding, sloppy polish, bad dip nail job. I only had to pay for the pedi, which was ok after the tech having to start over (yes polished my toes, then removed the polished because I didn't want gel, then proceeds to put the same gel on again.) The dip nails were an absolute disaster. They offered to re-do them but honestly, I won't go back. They initially left my hands in acetone for at least 30 minutes until I realized how long it had been. The foot-soak water had gotten cold by the time someone got started. All in all, the work is sloppy and the staff a bit out of sorts and unskilled. read more

My teenage daughter just left GLO NAILS on Carrollton in tears. She was a return customer and expected a good experience as before. Right away she was greeted by a younger technician who had a very forced "Blaccent" who looked down at her nails and said "What the hell is this?" No matter what her nails looked like when arriving, I have never in my life heard of someone greeting a customer like that. Rude and judgmental. She then had my daughter soaking her acrylic nails for WELL over an hour. Her fingers were burning, red and hurting. The technician refused to simply file down the acrylic piece that was stuck to her thumb and taking longer. Any SAFE and licensed nail technician knows that you cannot subject your skin to acetone for that long without causing pain and damage. After being at the salon soaking for an hour and a half, and a number of negative interactions with the technician, my daughter said she was leaving. The technician starts yelling at her that she needs her soak off fee and to "never come back" Look at the photo and let me know if you'd pay for that. At no time this any other staff member step in and attempt to resolve this situation or make it a better experience. She has a professional photo shoot in an hour and is now left with nails and hands that look like this. Personally I believe that she was treated this way because she is a teenager. However, that is no excuse. She is 17 and deserves the same customer service and nail experience that anyone has. This is not a good age group to mess around with, as they are all very well connected and post EVERYTHING online. She has already shared her Glo Nails experience with thousands of followers. As her parent I am very frustrated and how she was treated on what was supposed to be a special day for her. I am also very concerned about the lack of safety in how this was handled. For reference I live about five minutes from the shop and did let them know that as well. On the phone the workers readily answered me and said yes of course as long as you arrive before 6:30pm. I arrived at 6:07 and they rudely confronted me at the door saying no we are closed. I then said well hello, I called and the person said as long as I arrive before 6:30pm I will be fine. The man I was talking to then said "she said no." I found the staff very rude and unwelcoming. The establishment itself seemed clean and nice but the people not too much. I have gotten mani/pedis at Glo Nails since they opened. I will NEVER go back. The first time it happened, I was informed quietly by the manicurist that my nails were sanded so many times with the dremel drill that they were paper thin. I guess if the staff heard her saying that, she would have been fired. I had to take a year off and take very expensive supplements to get them back in shape. After my nails were strong and long again, I started going back. I walked back in on a Friday a couple of weeks ago and it was very busy. I told them that I wanted to take off all gel polish and 3 acrylics to give my nails a rest. The gentleman did not soak my nails in acetone but used the dremel drill solely to remove all polish and acrylics. He tried to pry off one acrylic with another new acrylic nail. I demanded that he stop because it hurt so much. He ended up soaking that one acrylic off with acetone (the only one) only because I was adament. I asked for clear polish and he used a clear with a garish, cheap pink tone. I paid, left the salon, went home, and absorbed my experience. My nails looked horrible, were gouged by the dremel with circular motions and ridges. The next day, two of my nails broke off at the quick. I could not cut them off because they were so short and hanging. I have been wearing bandaids for a week and a half and I still can't remove them. I also had cuts all around the cuticles. I could not understand the language, but I am clear that when they found out I was not going to spend a lot of money, they told the employee to hurry and just get me out of there, and move to the next client. When you cheat people, any money you receive just sifts like sand out of your hands to the ground. They are horrible people. My nails are ruined for another year. read more

I've gotten my nails done here a few times. The quality is usually great, but it does take a while. I've gone back because the people are sweet and I've been happy with how my nails turned out. However, during my last visit, a male employee got up from his station to scream at a woman and he slapped her in the face so hard she fell to the ground. Right at the entrance of the salon. He ran out and the rest of the employees acted like nothing happened. It was bizarre and concerning behavior. I hope he is not an owner. And if he is an employee, I hope was fired ASAP. read more

I get up, tell them I will just go to the salon down the road and they insisted 5 more minutes. So I believed them. Bad choice. As I'm getting my nails done, I notice the disastrous mess on my nails. But I decided to trust the process. They ended up cleaning up pretty nice, but then you would never guess what happened. Within 2 hours 3 nails are missing from my hand!! In case you don't know, I get dip, which, from my knowledge, shouldn't be coming off for no reason within 2 hours. I literally was just doing my homework and they broke on everything I thouched. So this place is beautiful the interior makes you want to come in but the work they do on nails is different every time I come . Sometimes they do good and sometimes they don't. I got my nails done almost a week ago and literally not even a full hour after... a nail broke off . I had left already so I went to a salon near by and got it repaired. Now today marks almost a week of my nails being on and I had an allergic reaction to the glue or products they used and my finger swole. I had to get my nailed cut off at the ER. I had a dip manicure and a gel pedicure. My manicure was excellent and I appreciated that my existing baby tips were removed ina bowl on my lap so I could keep my finger out that had lost its tip. They made sure I had extra towels to protect my clothes and one on top to protect me from fumes. The pedicure was excellent and there was no shame about the nails on my big toes that are always broken on the edges, they trimmed appropriately and didn't use the grater at my request. My feet look great. For my nails they look lovely. Not too think, very smooth and natural. The only reason I didn't give five is that English is not so great, but I liked that it was not fumey. I believe you can also get a Margarita and juice, but I had hands and feed full. Highly recommend over others close by that tend to stress me a bit. read more
