I am excited to be here at Mustard's Chicago Style Eatery in Los Alamitos off of Katella Ave…read more Menu here is awesome for the dog lovers in all of us too many to choose from! Sorry didn't take photo of menu you gotta come here! I ordered the Windy City chili dog cause I love chili dogs and I got the Classic steam Chicago dog the best seller here without peppers though! Classic steam dog with the skin on is awesomely good! Love this one! Chili dog with the skin on is crunchy love that chili is good but kind of thick. Overall I love the food the dogs you gotta come try! My number was called right after I ordered my food maybe five minutes pretty fast huh! Thumbs high on Mustards Chicago Style Eatery!

Now mind you that's over the Brazilian Steak House and Wood Ranch I had offered. We hadn't been to Mustards in (shut) 15 years? I was worried the quality was still there. I was! And boy did they grow up. They've blown out the menu the inclusion plethora of item other than hot dogs! The BBQ ribs I had were more than acceptable. Not Wood Ranch or Sweet Lou's but enjoyable! My son said his Chicago Dogs were still second to none and my wife got a hamburger that she claims was 'OK', and my daughter in law got a chicken sandwich she really liked. So overall it was a success. You can't rate the service because there is none. You order at a window, pick it up when ready from said window, and clean up after yourself ... unless you're a jerk. I do recommend them still. New owners clearly (apparently Asian) but the were very sweet and friendly. Lots of smiles.

One might wonder, "well what's so special about a hotdog" or even think that is they've had one hotdog they've had them all, but I assure you that this will be the best hot dog you've ever had. First boiled, then split and barbecued, the hot dogs are full of flavor and offer a smokey taste in each bite. I highly recommend giving them a try, even if you're not usually into hotdogs, you won't be disappointed, especially for the price. That's this critic's review, until next time I'll be eating.

Doesn't hurt that he is a nice guy that is happy to chat while he cooks your stuff. Quick story, I flew red eye from Oakland to LAX and then took the Long Beach Flyaway to DTLB and there he was ... The Dog! Stunned in hungry disbelief I look around the cart in disbelief ... "It has been a block from my work this whole time!?!?" I am sure Darrell would have thought I was crazy had I not been getting his food for months now. Needless to say, finding his usual spot saved my morning. You would be hard pressed to find any worthwhile lunch options for $4-6 in Downtown Long Beach, but The Dog delivers and stands a cut above other lunch specials. Cooked perfectly to order and split down the middle, The Dog's dogs are the best.

You can get either beef or turkey corndogs. It also has other items like cheese on a stick, funnel cakes, churros, hotdogs, fries, lemonade, and cotton candy. Family and I ordered beef corndogs, cheese on a stick, fries, and lemonade. The ratio of sausage to batter was good on the corndog. The batter wasn't overly seasoned with salt, and had excellent flavor. Everything here is made to order so everything tasted fresh. Even the lemonade was excellent. Wasn't too sweet and tasted like freshly squeezed lemonade, not some overly processed ones you get at a store. Cheese on a stick was surprisingly good as well. The batter on the cheese on a stick tasted different than the ones on regular corndogs. The batter tasted more like sweet cornbread, giving a nice contrast with cheese. Definitely a good place to grab a quick bite to eat when you're out by Seal Beach pier.

They cook to order so it took a few minutes. Once ready, I pumped some mustard on my corndog from the dispenser on a corner counter. I sat on a nearby bench and enjoyed a piping hot, perfectly made corn dog. Honestly, it was amazing. The freshly squeezed lemonade was excellent too; tart and not sweet, but obviously sweetened a bit to take the edge off the tartness. Refreshing! This is the corn dog that all other corn dogs should be judged by. (note: there is a surcharge for credit card use)
