My daughters both had 2" taken off the length, and one only had a bang trim. I was applauded when I was told the bill was $90! I did read the menu prices on the wall and knew that they consider a child 6 years or younger only; I understood that I had to pay women's prices for my children. The price listed on the wall was that women's haircuts start at $30 and go up. Since there was no layering and their hair is shoulder length, $30 each child was appropriate. The nice woman, whose daughter's wedding is next year, yelled from the back that she asked me if I wanted the girls' hair washed and I said yes. I did, but there is no price listed on the wall for hair washing. I am 49 and never, ever have I been " a la carted" for a basic hair wash when my hair is cut. I then went on to itemize her reasoning: $30/child's cut, and $15/ child's basic hair wash. Did I buy the bottles for the week! After the staff all spoke in Hindi so I couldn't understand, they said they'd charge $5/ child's hair wash. I had only $20 bills in cash on me and didn't want to use a debit card, so I handed over $80 and left. The $10 I left was the tip. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible business ethic. Never again!

I went to TNT Nails yesterday for a simple pedicure and left with a bleeding toe, pain, and utter disbelief at how shockingly unprofessional and unsafe the experience was. From the moment I sat down, the technician was rude -- no greeting, no eye contact, no questions about what I wanted. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. Then things went from bad to downright horrifying. While trimming my nails, the technician cut into my skin and caused bleeding. I could see the blood, I could feel the pain -- and yet she tried to deny it ever happened and cover it up. Instead of apologizing or providing proper care, she reached for a random bottle of pedicure chemical and tried to apply it directly into the open wound -- without telling me what it was. I politely but firmly asked for a clean tissue and a bandaid. She gave me neither. Instead, she reached for a bottle of unknown white powder and tried to apply it to the wound -- again, without answering what it was, even after I asked repeatedly. I had to pull my foot back to stop her from putting more unknown substances into a fresh wound. When I asked for the manager, a young woman came who barely spoke English. Then a young man eventually came -- finally someone I could speak to -- only to try to apply the same powder again and hand me some kitchen wipes. No sterile bandage. No antiseptic. Not even a basic apology. I told him I couldn't continue and needed to leave. He said "okay," and that was it. No apology. No concern. Nothing. This place is not only rude and careless -- it is UNSAFE. They handled an open wound with mystery products and zero hygiene standards. If you value your health, stay far away from TNT.

I want to share my experience with Enrique as both a masseuse and as the business owner of Face to Face NYC: Enrique gave me the "Ultimate Massage". When I came into the office at the lobby Enrique quickly acknowledged and greeted me. He went to make sure the room as perfect and then came back outside to take me into the room. The room was perfectly lit and air conditioned. He politely gave me time alone to get ready for the table and came back several minutes later to start the massage. The Ultimate Massage: I have never done a deep tissue massage before and so I was not sure what to expect. Enrique delivered in the perfect amount of pressure to apply onto my hard knots both on my back and my shoulders. He started off on my shoulders and upper back and I had such difficult knots on my shoulders it was so painful feeling him loosen them up gradually. But that "pain" was pain of relief and comfort. Enrique did a wonderful job on my neck, shoulders, and back. He then proceeded to the rest of my body: legs, feet, arms, and hands. I had no idea that I had secret hard knots all over my forearm and legs. Enrique used his professionalism and history of his craft by doing techniques that helped to ease up painful knots that has never been touched before; especially in a deep tissue massage. Overall: I felt very relieved and satisfied at the end of my Ultimate Massage that I had asked Enrique if he had time for 30-45 minutes more for a deep tissue massage specifically for my back and shoulders.
