Very nice experience here .first toenail surgery so I was overwhelmed at first but it went very well follow up and toe healing was good I did have some stranges sensations under my toe a couple months later that I wasn't warned about but I found out sometimes phantom sensation can happen due to the nerves being irritated from the numbing shits or scar tissue but other than that everything is back to normal I would certainly go here again if they accepted my new insurance but they don't I'm dissapointed about that great place good experience read more

First-time patient. I was kept waiting for 55 minutes, and I can be that precise because I timed my wait. I had decided I would leave in five more minutes, but the doctor came in so I didn't have to excuse myself at the front desk. Within five minutes the doctor told me I needed custom orthotics. Her exam was rudimentary at best, and she did none of the tests that are usually given for the suspected condition. It was all about me spending $650 on orthotics. She also drove her thumbs into the bottom of my foot to diagnose plantar fasciitis, which I had experienced before. This wasn't it. No pain at all until she jammed thumbs into the bottom of my foot. Altogether I waited 55 minutes for a 15-minute evaluation. I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth over the whole thing. She was nice and professional, no issues with her "beside manner" other than what I have described above. So I am currently wearing very good SOLE insoles as orthotics and doing well, and should I feel the need for a second appointment it will be with another podiatrist, or a foot/ankle ortho doc for a second opinion. It's been a few weeks since my appointment. I didn't want to rush home and write a bad review. But even with the wait, I feel the same. I'm quite sure she is a favorite of many patients as she *is* nice, but in view of my experience I can't recommend her. read more

My husband was reluctant to getting the expensive inserts but he finally did it and said they have changed his life. No more everyday pain! He had a great experience at her office. The doctor had great tips for my plantar fasciitis. My only small complaint is i wasn't able to pay my bill online. No option at all. Maybe I missed something. Doctor's office staff called to rescheduled me less than 24 hours from my appointment, because "Dr. wasn't booked enough the next morning, and she wanted to rebook me where she was busier." I expressed my displeasure for the late notice, since it was strictly for the doctor's convenience and it disrupted my plan and schedule. I told them I was going to leave a yelp review about this. Then I received a call from the doctor herself saying, "Sorry for the late notice, there was a death in the family." I told her that if she and her staff were going to tell inconsistent stories and lie, they should co-ordinate their excuses. Very unprofessional. read more

My mother had gone to Dr. Glesinger and did not like her, though I needed a podiatrist and my sister did recommend her. So, briefly, she was OK, but I felt I was getting a real sales pitch, tried to sell me custom orthotics, 2 other gizmos that I can put between my toes, a plastic thing for $30 to stretch my calves which you can do the same with exercises,.and if needed, surgery. But I've never had a physician talk costs like this. I did buy the plastic thing, never opened it and today, tried to return it and, as I expected, they don't return any medical devices. Unopened! I figured that much. I just marched out and said, you lost a patient. I'll try Scott Evans at TOI who my family really likes. read more

Most amazing Doctor I have been to for my foot issues. Friendly staff and very clean office along with her open and caring bedside manner make this the ONLY place to go to for any feet issues. Made me perfect orthotics and now I can walk miles with zero pain! Wow, why didn't I come here long ago? Dr April is very in demand so, schedule ahead is best advice I can give. It will be worth it. I have never posted a poor review for a doctor before, but I felt I should, partly as a warning to potential patients. I went to Dr Glesinger for plantar fasciitis pain. To be honest, I liked the Dr's 'bedside manner'. She told me I needed custom orthotics. Before doing anything I had to sign paperwork stating I would pay, whether my insurance would pay, or not, and I had to pay the $500 upfront! They said they would reimburse me for anything the insurance paid. I have very good insurance through BCBS, so I went ahead. I was desperate for relief, so I put it on my credit card. The Dr Said not to worry, they would make sure the orthotics were comfortable. The Dr took the mold for the orthotics and a week later they came in. My appointment to get the orthotics was with a technician. When I tried them in my shoes I said, 'Wow, these really push hard right in front of my heels,'. She just said they're uncomfortable at first, and gave me a schedule to 'break them in'. I went by the schedule, but by the time I was wearing them for a full day I was in so much pain I could barely walk by the end of the day. I scheduled a visit to adjust the orthotics and was told this would be free of charge. Before I went in, I called my insurance and was told that, since the Dr was in my network, orthotics we're supposed to cost $380 and my responsibility was 30% of that. I went in for my appointment and told this office manager this and she basically said that the ones they order are $500 and I had signed the paperwork, so I had no recourse. The technician was no longer there, so they had charged me $40 for the office visit with the Dr. They gave me the refund from my insurance, which was 70% of the allowed cost, not of the $500, and they had deducted $40 for the offiice visit. I mentioned that I had been told there would be no charge and the office manager said the refund check had been cut so I would have to wait to receive the $40 they had taken out. I made sure they had my address and told them to send it to me. She said I wouldn't be charged that day as long as I didn't ask the doctor any questions or discuss my situation. If I did, the office charge would apply! It's now been 3 more weeks and the orthotics are still making my condition worse. I called and asked for another adjustment and was told by the office manager that this time it would be an office visit. I told her that this was just for an adjustment and she told me that it really wouldn't cost anything because they never sent me the other refund so there was a $40 dollar credit on my account. I had to explain to her that the credit on my account was actually my money, so, yes, I would be paying for an office visit to have these expensive orthotics, that I as told would be made right, adjusted. She would not back down, so I cancelled the appointment . I told her this seemed like a scam because they had charged me way more than my insurance indicated, and now we're charging me more to make them fit! I cancelled my appointment and am considering my options. On a side note, I purchased a pair of $50 orthotics that you can adjust yourself and they've actually been helping, so I know orthotics can work for me, if they're formed, or adjusted, correctly. Like I said, I liked the Dr's personality, but her office staff and policies are less than desirable! I'm posting this primarily so potential patients will check with their insurance companies before booking an appointment and not get sucked in, like I was. read more

Worst experience I've eve had with a doctor and a doctor's office, and a scam on top of it. I was a previous patient of Dr. Glesinger's from a number of years ago, at which time she tried to correct an ingrown toenail and make me a pair of custom orthotics. The orthotics were helpful, but it wasn't until she was halfway into the ingrown toenail procedure that she asked me whether I was allergic to sulfa drugs--the ointment she was about to put on my toe to prevent infection and the one drug I happen to be allergic to!! She only had sulfa in her office, so did not put anything else on my toe. I subsequently developed an infection and had to go back to her office due to the pain. She didn't recognize it was infected, and said the best thing to do was to perform the (painful!) procedure again (!!!). I didn't know better at the time, but after that did not work, I went to my primary care doctor, who prescribed the antibiotics I needed to clear the infection. That was a lot of time, money and pain... Fast forward to 2020 -- I started to have foot pain again and needed new orthotics. Given timing, I went back to Dr. Glesinger as I knew her office could make what I needed. My mistake! They made me pay 100% up front for the orthotics, even though my insurance covers 85% for orthotics. After I paid in full and received the orthotics the office manager explained that they changed their policy and so if my insurance actually paid anything (??) that I'd have to come pick up the check at their office. The timing of this was not ideal because I was scheduled for surgery that week (surgery with a horribly long recovery time) and asked if they would mail me the check given the circumstances. They refused. I offered to provide an envelop and stamp and cover any cancellation check fees, etc., but the office will not make any exceptions nor would they even check with the doctor for an exception. In trying to find a compromise, I asked for a full refund and to return the orthotics, but they would not let me. I then offered to file the claim myself to hopefully have the money sent to me directly from my insurance company -- the office manager agreed to this, but then went ahead and filed a claim anyway with my insurance company! My insurance paid them a month ago, and I never received a phone call from Dr. glesinger's office to let me know -- so basically they are a scam. They have my money and my insurance company's money. I called Dr. Glesinger's office to follow up, and had trouble getting through. I asked to speak with the office manager, but they would not let me and transferred me to the billing dept, which was extremely rude and told me they are not the one's who cut the checks. I finally spoke with the office manager, and she said they refuse to send me a check...which I'm pretty sure is illegal. If I had known of the policy change I would have never used their services. I will be following up with my insurance company and the podiatry board. In sum, be ready to wait all day in Dr Glesinger's office and be treated rudely by her staff -- from the billing department that told me to shut up to the office manager Heather who basically lied to me about the claim process, to the folks on the phone that make appointments and the rest of the staff. ps. if your orthotics do not fit, you're stuck with them, have already paid in full, have to wear them for two weeks and only then is the office willing to even try to make adjustments to them. read more

I saw Dr Glesinger for plantar fasciitis in my left foot which had become chronic and almost debilitating. She and her staff were very professional and kind. My issue is with the $480.00 I spent on custom orthotics made in her office which I wore for eight months and they nearly crippled me. The physical therapist I subsequently saw looked at them and said they were too rigid for my type of arch. Eventually had to have a TOPAZ surgical procedure on the foot. I should have known when the infomercial for the orthotics played continuously in the waiting room that this was some kind of racket. And you can forget about getting any part of your money back. In my search for a new podiatrist, I found Dr. Glesinger's name online and am sooo happy I did. Her staff is professional and friendly, and so is Dr. G. She's laid-back, attentive, caring, and at the top of her game. I highly recommend her to anyone needing foot care. read more

I want to highly recommend April Glesinger as a great podiatrist! I have been to many different doctors and had just come from another podiatrist who had done a very substandard job. April is obviously at the top of her game. She uses only one company in the US for orthotics and after getting really poor grade orthotics from another doctor I could immediately see the difference in the product, but more importantly in April and the attention she paid and the time she took to understand me and my problem and then educate me on the best way to proceed. I am already making great progress in solving my problem which I have had for a while with no good outcome. April is an excellent doctor! read more

My 93 yr old mother saw Dr Glisinger today for the first time. We were extremely impressed with her care and knowledge. Dr G took the time to explain why my mother had the foot issues she had. Not a fan. They lost my casting for my foot orthotics. I called and they asked me "if I was sure that I went through the process at their office." They wanted to schedule another appointment for the exact same procedure. At this point I lost all confidence in her office. Big thumbs down! read more

As a new patient for Dr. Glesinger, I followed the directions, filled out the forms on line and returned them, all as requested. I was at least 15 minutes early for my appointment, as requested. I was shown into an exam room about 15 minutes AFTER my appointment time. Dr. Glesinger didn't come in until 1 hour and 5 minutes AFTER my appointment time. No recognition that she had kept me waiting all that time. She spent time telling me everything that was wrong with my feet. She spent about 5 minutes doing the procedure for which I had come in, and then left. When I went to check out the receptionist told me the cost of the procedure. I asked if she were going to bill Medicare. No, Medicare would not pay. Without listening to what I may have said about that, she went into her spiel about why Medicare wouldn't pay. I cut her off, gave her a check, told her in no uncertain terms that I did NOT want a future appointment, and left. Medicare has been paying for this procedure for me through several Podiatrists in different cities where we lived, including Tucson. If I could have given Dr. Glesinger a half a star, I would have, as she did do the procedure on my foot. I guess she figures an 80 year old woman would be happy to sit around waiting for the doctor.
