Even though it was foggy and rainy, the venue itself is beautiful. I can just imagine how much better it is with good weather. I bet the view is amazing since it is definitely high up. You have to drive up two huge hills to get there. One thing I'd recommend is to bring a pair of comfortable shoes because trying to walk in the mud and gravel in my heels was dangerous. The barn itself is all white, giving it a modern farmhouse vibe. It does need much decorations to make it pretty because it already is. The space is 5000 sq. ft. with a capacity of 200. It has a Bridal Suite with a private bathroom, a Grooms Room, Catering Prep Kitchen, Custom mobile bar and large outdoor patio and deck area (which we couldn't enjoy fully due to the weather). Although there were some outdoor heaters on the side deck, it was too chilly to stay out there for too long.

Fast forward to this weekend when we got invited to a birthday at the speakeasy upstairs... and I'm so glad we finally went. First of all -- they're doing a great job with the speakeasy concept because I genuinely had no idea it was there. It's upstairs above the restaurant and you need a code word to get in. Since we were already there, we decided to have dinner first and the menu honestly surprised me in the best way. It's very much Southern comfort food, but elevated a bit. The vibe inside is eclectic and interesting. The staff was super friendly, and even on a Saturday night it wasn't overly busy. The new streets in Sapulpa look great now that the construction is finished, but because most of the parking is behind the buildings the street can look like a ghost town even when places are actually busy. Kind of a weird illusion. They start you off with bread and a trio of fresh butters which was unexpected and delicious. The bread itself wasn't anything fancy, but the butter definitely was. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered from the kids menu (which I very much appreciated did not say "12 and under"). I got a grilled cheese and the waitress suggested adding a cup of tomato bisque. Yes please. Both were excellent. My husband ordered the grilled chicken and said it was moist and really good. They also have a full bar and a huge coffee bar, which I thought was a fun touch. Then we headed upstairs to the speakeasy and it's a whole different vibe up there. Very cool space. Also extremely eclectic. Think Tommy Bahama meets world traveler's curio cabinet. There were travel finds from around the world displayed in cases, parrot chandeliers, a baby grand piano, and a cheetah print pool table. It somehow all works. Live music was by Steve Lindell and he was fantastic. Two thumbs up. Bar service was great, just a little slow -- but to be fair I don't think they were expecting a 40-person birthday group to roll in all at once. All in all it was a fantastic night. The venue is always spotless and perfectly maintained. The bridal suite is one of the most luxurious, spacious, and functional I've seen, and the groom's suite feels cozy & high end. It was really interesting to see how they had preset the tables and hid them with curtains to just whisk them into place after the ceremony had taken place. Most of the party went outdoors into the courtyard to have drinks at an outside bar and sit on a deck outside of another building. The views of the pond are great inside and out. (I'm not sure if the venue provided the flipping service or if it was an outside event planner.) Bar service inside was pretty efficient as well. Just know that there are multiple steps down into the venue from the street level and while there is an elevator, it was a bit problematic to get someone to operate it. This venue is also a ways out. It's almost rural. We kept driving and driving thinking we had missed a turn or Google was wrong. :) Security was provided as well. It was a great space and seems pretty versatile on how it can be used.

But the most incredible part about the entire day was the staff! From the setup, to the bartenders, to the servers! The Xmas tasting is already legendary (good luck getting in if you don't respond to invite ASAP) and the other occasional beer, wine, and spirit tastings they do are pretty well attended and informative. If I have a complaint it would be having tastings of stuff you can't go downstairs and buy at the liquor store which happens at times. Other than that it's a great place for events and the tastings are quality.
