Warm, hospitable, and *stellar* food (oh, that ribeye!).
Owned and operated by a wonderful couple - Sally/Mac - this is *the* place to stay (and/or eat) when in the Dalmally vicinity.
The place is old, but renovated, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming, the bed makes for blissful sleep, and the restaurant is, as I mentioned, *stellar*.
About that restaurant - Sally is the chef, and she knows her way around the mostly Scottish/locovore-y cuisine. We worked our way through as much of the menu as we could (and that was quite a decent bit of it!), and it was all _excellent_. The ribeye in particular is to die for, be sure to get it!
If at all possible, save room for dessert - they are all really really good!
The cuisine, as mentioned, is largely Scottish-inspired, using as many local/seasonal ingredients as they can get their hands on. Don't let the "scottish" tag put you off - this is *excellent* cuisine, made with a deft touch and no end of love - it is destination dining!
About the owners - they are genuinely friendly and helpful. From opening the kitchen early on a Sunday to make sure we had coffee/brekker before we took off on an early hike, to explaining how she got the crust on the ribeye (oh, that ribeye!), to, well, just being friendly, they are genuinely nice people.
When we're back in the 'hood, I know where we'll be staying!
