The new setup completely contradicted my requests as he put on heavy strings, and raised the action of the guitar. He couldn't tell me why he did it, and said "I wouldn't have done that unless you asked me to". DISAGREEING WITH ME. My guess was it was a result of poor organization of his repairs. I asked him "where we went from here", as he wanted me to pay $50 for a downgrade in quality. He refused to accept fault and made it clear that I wouldn't be leaving the shop with my guitar until I paid. I was shocked by the treatment, paid and have never gone back since.

The bathroom is always very dirty and uncleanly, you would think with covid they'd be concerned about this. I put my child on a waiting list to go here and never would've imagined the lack of care and concern they take in their school. Not only that, but the complete crazy people who run it. Most unstable people I've ever dealt with. No manners, and they scream at you when they don't want to deal with you. The advertising for the school is false in more ways than one. There are no dogs there, the lessons for guitar are pointless because they can't even teach the child one of the first things to know, which is how to tune their guitar. They try to rip you off majorly. When initially joining I thoroughly read through everything before committing and the price was $79 monthly for group lessons once a week. However, they billed me for $200 after 3 lessons and when I went to check the site again all of a sudden within two weeks they had changed the price on their site to $100 monthly for weekly group lessons without even addressing parents or sending out an email to inform of that... which is very misleading but whatever only $21 extra a month, still parents should be notified when prices go up, especially when that's not what was agreed to, and then to find out after speaking to Emily in person it's not even correct on the site either. It's as if nobody knows what they're doing here. Emily is incredibly arrogant, insulting, and unprofessional. She should not be running a school with any children at all. They have nobody inside the music school to greet you, and little to absolutely no communication, 100% lazy. They do not keep in touch, no calls, no one to talk to if you have a concern because they cant afford to hire anyone to sit in the building for a whole 30 mins, and they never answer the phone. When they do you have to call several times and both the women who run this place will tell you that you're wasting their time and speak to you as if they were never taught an ounce of respect for other human beings but are easily offended at nothing. They are irritated and always speak with an attitude. In person they will tell you that you're wasting their time. They will insult you and speak to you in a way they shouldn't around other children. My children have played tons of sports and activities like Girl Scouts, baseball, basketball, soccer, cheer, etc and my wife and I were coaches for several years... never have I met anyone like these two women. They're so unprofessional and all over the place that my daughter had been to 3 lessons and still nobody reached out about payment and I could not get ahold of anyone on several occasions to make payment. I had tried to pay at the first lesson but the two adults that were there didn't even take the time to say hello, or even have the kind decency to say anything, and can't answer any questions ever. Completely clueless. Very rude atmosphere and very lazy. There is a very careless vibe about the entire place.

Thursday June 20th I go in wanting to buy a book,(HL Clarke technical studies for Trumpet).... Which is a fairly common trumpet book.The very enthusiastic girl behind the counter looks and says they have 2 in stock... After her searching for about 10minutes it comes to find out.. They don't. So, the next step would be having them order it for me. I agreed to that. After being convinced that free shipping was enough justification to have them do it. I was also told that is should be in their store no later than the 25th...... They finally call me June 27th to tell me that the book was there. So, I go in today, July 1st. And it was the wrong book.... Aparently a picture of the book to order via my phone wasn't good enough?... I have no ordered the same book off amazon. Cheaper than what they were going to sell it for me.... And I also received free 2!!!! day shipping. Because I feel like I'm just ranting on about how terrible I have been treated I will stop with a few closing point. I do not suggest buying books from this store, order them online. The only thing this store is capable (without messing it up) is selling you consumable materials (reeds, valve oil, ect)

We dropped my son's electric guitar off to have two strings replaced last Thursday, Aug. 6th. We…read morewere told we would get it back by closing time Friday. So Friday came and went... no guitar and no phone call. We went there Saturday at 2pm but they were already closed. I did call a couple of times and left messages. On Monday a guy called to let me know he would have to order a part that was missing and it would be there on Wednesday. He was very nice and apologized for the inconvenience. It's Thursday and still no one had called me. So I called them today and was told it was ready.  (I don't get why they didn't call to let me know it was ready, especially since they said they would). This is poor service. My son with adhd has been very upset without his guitar.  He uses it as a way to relieve stress and frustrations.  He doesn't understand why they didn't do what they said they would.  The total charge was $48 and I was upset about that too because I was told the cost would be $10 per string. But I went ahead and paid figuring it was the cost of the part and service fee. We go to put it in the car and my son notices the part they put on doesn't match the other ones. The bridge pin was silver and the rest of the pins that are were already on the guitar are all black.  It looked bad, so I went back into the store and expressed my disappointment. I said you know the part is silver not black...she said yeah. I said shouldn't they all match...she said yeah. Then I said well someone should have called me at least to say "hey if they don't have this part will silver be okay". But no one called me. She said she's not the tech person. Next she told me that was the only part they had on hand and if I wanted black they would have to special order it. I said I know because a guy had called me already to tell me that they were ordering the part. She asked if I wanted to order the part. I said no...I really think I should get a refund of some kind. This whole experience has been a mess. She said she doesn't do refunds either and would have the tech call me. I was so upset and still am. "Shop Emporia First" they say...well I will, just not at Flint Hills Music.  P.S. Still waiting on that phone call.  It's been five hours.  Oh yeah, I forgot his "on the road".
