I was driving through Gallup looking for a quick bite to eat. I'll refrain from any comments about Gallup, NM in general.... I randomly stopped at Glenn's. The donut spread looked quite impressive, donuts of nearly every variety one could imagine, however, on this day I pined for something more substantial. I opted for the #1 Breakfast Burrito -- Green Chile, Eggs, potatoes. (~$3.25). I took a seat and scope out the "local" scene which seemed to consist of the local Navajo crowd and ex US military. Definitely not in a big city anymore, Toto.... The food came out very quickly (surprised I didn't hear the "ding" of the microwave in the background). I kid you not, it was barely edible. It tasted no better than a frozen breakfast burrito warmed up in the microwave. I ate half and threw the other half away; I could not finish it. If you're in the mood for a donut, hit this place up. Otherwise, consider twice when ordering the breakfast burrito....... read more

Glenn's is worth the departure from the highway. You'd be mad if you ate breakfast at McDonald's when instead you could have had a perfect breakfast burrito followed by a donut. They had coffee drinks, bakery selections, several burrito options, and a food menu with non-breakfast items too. Also a little grocery store selling essential items and plates of enchiladas, beans, and rice. Go! read more

Good coffee. Also Tried an Apple turnover, glazed twist donut, chocolate eclair. 6:15am on a Sat morning. Friendly crew. Has a drive-through. In addition to diverse don't/pastry selection they usually have tortillas. Have a grill that offers lunch options. Local eggs available the day we went through. Nice cooler selection of ready-to-go salads, lunch plates (saw some good looking enchiladas), and of course cakes and such. Also had great looking buns ready to go. read more

Local favorite, standard fare. Good green Chile chicken burritos and free donuts with Yelp check-in. Love coming here for some New Mexico comfort food, must have when in Gallup. read more

No prices posted, and, after receiving my mini sized breakfast burrito, I can see why. Ingredients were a joke. Sorry no salsa- for burritos??? No trash cans anywhere. "No refills on drinks" proudly displayed. Poor Gallup read more

Super friendly staff, delicious doughnuts. I couldn't find the place, staff gave me turn by turn directions. They have great breakfast plates and burgers as well. We will be back . read more

We stopped here for a quick breakfast to-go on our road trip. Unfortunately the breakfast burritos were not good (cold and flavorless) and we ended up throwing them away. On a positive note the coffee and doughnuts were very good so I would say stick to that and not the hot food. Plus they had a Yelp check in deal for two free doughnuts, cookies or cupcakes which was awesome! read more

Great place for food, breakfast or lunch. I like the beef brisket. Good coffee too, I also like the caramel macchiato. Donuts, cookies, cupcakes, cakes are all good. Also a place to grab groceries too! Staff are so helpful and friendly! read more

I love Glenn's! Gallup should feel lucky that they have such a great bakery in the area. Seriously everything I've ordered and ate at Glenn's was great, so you can't go wrong read more

Largest tasty burger on this side of the train track. I like their assortment of cookies and doughnuts to choose from. Coffee and coke products are self served near their tables. It is clean and quiet inside. I do admire the Apple iPay option when paying. Nice place to read and enjoy a meal at lunch. It would be nice to see local art work hanging on their walls and perhaps some light acoustic coffee music caressing the atmosphere. read more

Glenn's Bakery - Glenn's Bakery, Gallup, NM - Bakeries Near Me - Gallup, New Mexico

We go out of our way every time we're passing through New Mexico because of how delicious this place is. But the most amazing part about this place isn't the donuts OR fresh baked bread & tortillas this family-owned business became famous for---let me introduce you to the REAL gems of the menu: #Green Chile Burger--no explanation needed. The locals come on work breaks to inhale these giant made to order melt-in-your-mouth real beef mountains of heaven. #3 burrito--packed full of -you guessed it- freshly blackened green Chiles specially ordered from a local roaster and in-house refried beans made the RIGHT way: with lard. I asked because I'm a stickler on that. ;) #brisket burrito-I'm a vegetarian, but this one makes my mouth water every time another patron orders it, which is literally every time I'm there so it must be a local favorite! #cheese enchiladas-un. bee. Leave. Able. Corn tortillas and three types of cheese baked to perfection. Pro-Yelpers: you can order online for faster pickup During lunch rush and you can grab not one but TWO donuts for free by checking in with Yelp! There is also a glass cooler filled with pre-made specials you can take home and bake fresh or hide in your freezer for those late night cravings. Route 66 still has so many thriving businesses that need foodies like us to support their fight to revive this historic stretch of road, start here for a breakfast burrito or rich espresso and discover the rest of Gallup, NM on a full belly! read more

I devoured my Bismarck in less than a minute. It was absolutely delicious and flavorful. My boyfriend also got the #2 red burrito. Not every day we've seen such a high quality bakery also have delicious & savory breakfast food. We're from Texas and he said it was one of the best breakfast burritos he's ever had. Excellent service, extremely kind guests. We hope to stop here again soon!! read more

Since I was a girl, I rate all my Mexican - or New Mexican - on their frijoles. These are some of the best I've had, with a hint of bacon and so tasty! I thought they were just a great place for freshly made doughnuts, which I had had on numerous occasions are are sublime. I eyed the jelly-filled glazed in the case when I finally visited the cafe. I had to go for the light and crispy plain cake doughnut - my favorite. I've had their chocolate with chocolate frosting, coconut topped, and a fritter in the past: None of which disappointed. But this doughnut melted in my mouth like a pillow of buttery vanilla goodness. My carne adovada burrito was perfection. The meat was juicy, tender and flavorful, with a touch of melted cheddar cheese and green chile that was hot with just enough bite-all folded into a yummy homemade tortilla. The coffee was flavorful and had the dark roast I crave. I can't wait to come back for more, and I encourage anyone traveling through Gallup on I-40 - or who lives in the area like me - to stop. I bought a dozen tortillas for $3 to take to my friend in Albuquerque and she said they were better than any she had in town. I rest my case. read more

Glenn's Bakery - Behind the counter.. - Bakeries Near Me - Gallup, New Mexico

Searching all over Gallup, NM, for a coffee shop with free wi-fi so I can get some work done this morning. I (mostly) found what I was looking for at Glenn's Bakery, aka what appears to be the locals favorite donut shop. Lots of people here, but it doesn't feel crowded. Wifi is free but not fast (1mb up/down), but I'm not complaining. It works. read more

Glenn's Bakery - From the back corner of Glenn's, where my plate of donuts disappeared quickly. - Bakeries Near Me - Gallup, New Mexico

I'm always unsure how to rate a place based on scope. Globally or locally? Considering the city or considering every possible place on earth? Well, Glenn's is a 5 star for Gallup and a 3 star for any donut shop anywhere. That averages to 4 I guess. Neither are bad and both ratings reflect my enjoyment of the food. It's a small town mom and pop type operation that is frequented by locals. It's got an older diner/cafeteria type of feel. Apple fritters and buttermilk donuts that are really good. They've got biscuits and gravy and whole wheat tortillas even. Illy espresso that I enjoyed in an Americano and the owner really took pride in making it himself. read more

I never had the food here, but this place serves illy espresso/cappucino. :) Only legitimate coffee place in town. One place I went to in town decorates with illy cans and then serves Blunt Bros. :( Note - Star Rating is by city, read more

When it comes to donuts I have to have a certain level of fluff and glaze. I tried a few donut places around town even tried Safeway's donuts. No go. I remember my brother telling me to try Glenn's Bakery repeatedly. So one day I had a craving for some glazed donuts and headed over to Glenn's Bakery. I walked in to find a small cafe to my left and donuts to my right. It's a small joint but quaint for the area. I walked up to the counter and with a wince in my face said to the woman behind the counter, "I'm SO skeptical when it comes to donuts. I need to taste before I buy and my brother recommended this place." She handed me a donut. I took one bite and spurted out, "They're good! I'll take half a dozen." Woman behind the counter gave me half a dozen and didn't charge me the one I tasted. I told her I will be a repeat customer from now on. Nothing better than a delicious fluffy glazed donut -- YUM! p.s. I see they do sandwiches, cakes, and pizza. I'm going to have to try one of each on my next visit. Not all at once, goodness, a girl has to watch her figure in this town. LOL! I just made a funny. read more

Fantastic donut/bakery/coffee joint. There is NOTHING chain restaurant about it. The perfect old school coffee shop. But the pastries and breakfast burrito (green chile beef/egg/potato or #1) were phenomenal. Go here if in the area. Just checkered in and got two free donuts. Staff seemed very confused about it. I also think it's rude to grab someone's phone without permission and then proceed to follow them outside with another staff member behind them and ask to see the phone again. Definitely won't be back. Terrible customer service read more

They may be a local favorite but as an early riser touring Gallup, I showed up at 5:30 a.m. and the selection of donuts was minimal, not my favorites. I'm sure I was too early but I had my family of 6 to feed and they all wanted to search else where to get what they desired. read more

Coffee was really good, the biscuits and gravy were awesome, especially since I didnt get shorted on gravy like some places do. The fresh made biscuits knocked it out of the park, and the doughnuts, still warm, melt in your mouth perfection! read more

Truly outstanding from top to bottom, not only is the food amazing but the service is world class as well. They have a breakfast burrito that is to die for, you will not find any better anywhere in the country I can promise you that. A1 all day. read more

Glenn's is awesome. The donuts are enormous and due to the climate, just about the best donuts you can get, anywhere, and they are so crispy on the outside, like perfect. I suggest that if you like filled donuts, try the raspberry filled and chocolate cream filled, they are really good. Their breakfast burritos are to die for, and they have wifi. This is the place to go when you are in Gallup for breakfast. The locals all hang out here. read more

I was already warned not to order a cake from this bakery, but I thought I would give it a chance. I place my order and paid for the cake and was told that it would be ready on Friday at 5pm. When I came to the store at 5pm on Friday I was told there is no cake ready for me to pick up. They didnt have my order from, they missed place it and had to call the person that took the order and ask her for the order from. We have to wait another 30 minutes for the cake person to whip up are cake. They have done this to my brother in-laws son cake to buy instead wrote the wrong name on the cake. I don't think I will be doing business with Glenn's Bakery anymore. read more

Looked like good donuts. I specifically asked if my omelet would have veggies in addition to bacon. I was told yes. It had no veggies and more bacon than I've ever eaten in one sitting. Won't try that again :). read more

Delicious!! And real coffee and espresso, no push buttons. Clean and tidy place. Excellent donuts

I travel from Phoenix to SW Colorado on business several times a year and when I do I normally stop at Glenns in Gallup for a quick bite to eat. I always opt for the burritos either the chicken and egg or the bean. The burritos are pretty much pre-made, which makes the food service really quick - a big plus. The food quality is good and the coffee is excellent. As a local business, the owners are usually present giving the establishment a nice, neighborhood feel. Wi-Fi and TV's are in the dining room and there is ample parking as well as a drive thru window. Unfortunately, I think they have recently raised their prices and quite frankly it's getting quite pricey for the quantity that you receive. I think the bean burritos now are 2.99 (they are the least expensive), which is way high when they are about the same size as the Taco Bell variety that cost .69. Now obviously, the quality is much better, but still two burritos (any with meat) and coffee is going to run you in the range of $9 - $10 and trust me when I say it's not very much food and hardly a "meal." In fact, calling them burritos is almost misleading because the tortillas are small and open ended. Other than the escalating prices, the bathrooms are small and moderately clean. Not great for travelers. Also, I've had my order botched a couple of times too. Notta big deal though... Overall, I like this place for what it is. A quick mom and pop, order at the counter pit stop, but probably will look elsewhere the next time I am in town because I am just not seeing value anymore. read more
