I initially liked Dr. Grossman's approachable, friendly personality. But at the end of the day, it's not about personality -- it's about being a thorough doctor. At one point, I asked about depression and PMS, and he just kind of shrugged and said, something along the lines of, it happens to a lot of people. Everything has been back to normal since my last updated review. I can only assume that the post-COVID environment was overwhelming for a lot of medical offices and customer service suffered temporarily. I have now had two great appointments and no issues with callbacks or anything like before. In a world where quality healthcare is hard to find, Dr.Grossman stands out for his excellence in his medical field. He delivered my baby via C-Section on November 2023 and took care of my pregnancy with kindness, pragmatism, assertiveness, and professionalism. He puts you at ease when there is nothing to be worried about , he will be calm and easy going about it. Don't misinterpret this as dismissive, if he is not concerned rest assured he is correct . However, when something is off or faced with a problem, he won't hesitate to make prompt and smart decisions for me and my baby. I was lucky to have found Dr.Grossman to be my doctor. Sadly, I changed insurance and he isn't longer in my network. I will miss him. I doubt I will find such an excellent Obgyn again. A special mention goes to nurse Martha who works hand in hand with Dr.Grossman. Her professionalism and dedication matches his. All front staff are also kind and always happy to help. I waited to write this review to get an accurate review of Dr.Grossman's practice. I have now seen him 1-2 times a month for the past seven months during my pregnancy and here are the major problems I have. 1) Late to appointments 100% of the time: normally I could see past this since he is an on call OB and does have to make hospital visits for deliveries, but it's unacceptable when most of these delays are due to double bookings. Most of my appointments have been either double booked for the exact same time as someone else, or the person 15 min before me is still waiting in the waiting room for their appointment when I get there. Then you end up sitting in the exam room for 30-45 min. Even when I have booked the first appointment of the day, I still had to wait 40 minutes to see him. I could hear him making phone calls down the hall while I waited. 2) He is in a rush and doesn't have time for your questions (after being an hour late): he hardly asks any medical questions about my pregnancy symptoms, and when I raise questions they are quickly brushed off as "oh yeah that's normal". Worst of all, I recently went in with a suspected sinus infection and wanted to ask him about antibiotics from an OB's perspective and he immediately told me to go see my PCP or go to urgent care. I would be much more comfortable getting a prescription from my OB rather than a random urgent care Dr, but he had no time for that discussion and was clearly trying to shut the conversation down so he could leave. 3) I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing him if it was my first pregnancy: since this is my third pregnancy I know enough of what to ask/expect that I have been able to look past the negatives. However, if this was my first pregnancy, then I would feel inadequately cared for. There is no sense of care on his end and he is not trying to educate his patients on what's normal/not normal. The only thing he has done at my last six appointments has been using the Doppler and occasionally measuring my belly... that is all. No checking in with me besides small talk, and no pregnancy related medical questions. After waiting an hour I always leave feeling like it was a waste of my time. I would not recommend seeing Dr. Grossman for pregnancy care. If you only have to go once a year for Gynecological care, then I suppose you could endure it. But I highly recommend looking elsewhere for an OB where you will be better cared for in a respectable amount of time. read more

I was referred to Dr. Grossman by my PCP due to a history of fibroids and then a more recent ultrasound that showed multiple cysts on my ovaries. I was lucky to call in right after they had a cancellation and was able to snag an appointment within 2 days. The ladies at the front desk were very kind and sweet, as was his nurse, Martha. Martha initially told me to undress as the Dr. was mostly likely going to do a pelvic exam. Dr. Grossman came in and introduced himself and asked why I was referred to him. He sat and listened to me and asked several follow up questions regarding my menstrual history. He then said he looked over my ultrasound results and didn't feel the need for a pelvic exam. He put me at ease and said that I don't have anything to be concerned about. I didn't feel rushed or ignored and he had a welcoming personality. If I ever decide to have kids in the future, I will definitely come back to Dr. Grossman! read more

Dr. Grossman is a kind, gentle, and understanding doctor. He goes above and beyond for his patients and he truly cares. He is the best OB/Gyn I've ever had and I'm going to be 60. He took special care of me because I was nervous ensuring my process was as easy as possible for me. He treated me like I was familyfamily on my very first visit. I was referred to his office by my PCP for a problem. The call has been going on for over 9 minutes now, and I'm just trying to make an initial appointment to see him. I had to hold a few times in between to schedule a time he was open and I was able to come in. He is available on Tues only in his Northridge office, otherwise he is in Mission Hills. I'm not too confident about being able to see him if I really needed to. And let's agree, it shouldn't take ten plus minutes to MAKE the appt. read more

If you like waiting around for hours, and getting blown off whenever you ask a question, then Dr. Grossman is the doctor for you. He runs on average an hour late, and then will try and rush you out once you finally get the privilege of seeing him. He never offered an apology for making us wait, in fact one time he walked in whistling like it was all a big joke. His standard answer to any question is to shrug and say "it happens". One time that was his answer to 3 questions in a row. When you're finally ready to deliver this guy will be nowhere to be found, that's why we nicknamed him "Dr. Ghostman". Seriously, he didn't even do the bare minimum for the 8 months that he saw us. Complaining to Healthcare Partners does nothing either, so there are no repercussions; he will continue to do just enough to get by. I would stay as far away as possible from this clown. read more

Dr. Grossman became my doctor by accident. When I had a not so "happy" experience with another doctor he was referred to me by the office. I couldn't have had a better experience with him. Then I got pregnant! He was a friend the whole time. I never felt like any question I asked him was returned with an arrogant answer. He never made me feel like what I was going through wasn't a valid concern. He always took the time to look at me, in the eyes, and have a conversation about that appointment and then what to expect in the next appointment. My whole pregnancy went well and I believe it is because of the level of care he gives to his patients. I have always been an advocate of female OB/GYN, but I had made an exception in this case and I couldn't have been happier. He's the best! read more

I am writing this one from my husband's account. I chose Dr. Grossman from a list of OB/GYNs covered by my insurance. It was the best decision I ever made. Dr. Grossman is the most amazing OB, he answered all of my questions and not one time did I feel pressured/judged regarding any decision made related to my pregnancy or childbirth. He offered me options, which was a relief because I felt like I had a say in the process (I spent a lot of times on pregnancy forums and many women cannot say the same thing). I was unpleasant during the childbirth process, I hated everyone with a fiery passion. I yelled at him and said not very nice things when I was being stitched up and not one time did he ever react in anger. I ended up apologizing for my behavior (I felt bad about yelling at the person that was taking care of me) and he accepted my apology whole heartedly, saying he knows pain can do crazy things to people. I have him to thank for my beautiful and healthy son and would absolutely recommend him to anyone. P.S. I had a son, had him circumcised by Grossman and I cried exponentially more than my boy. When he went in for his first doctor's visit, his pediatrician commented on the beautiful circumcision job that was performed. I thought that was pretty cool :) read more

I don't understand the positive reviews.. I came to this doctor needing a Gyno not OB. I told the staff I was on my lunch break and asked if they could realistically see me within the hour. They said they could and took my $75 copay. There was only 1 patient ahead of me yet the whole process took over 1.5 hours!? When I expressed my concerns and wanting to be tested for different things he kept negating my wishes, saying I was "young and healthy" despite this being the first time we had ever met and he never asked me my personal or family health history. I asked for hormone testing and his response was that "there are lots of hormones that we could test but they could mean anything" aka he didn't know what hormones to test for, and therefore probably wouldn't have a clue what the results even mean. I got the testing done weeks ago and still received no response. I called the office and they said he was out on holiday but had the papers and would call me tomorrow with the results. I wonder if that will actually happen. Oh and the parking lot is a cash only and the price gets higher the longer you are there. Total waste of time and money. read more

Ok...this review is 20 years late. I would imagine though, before yelp. Dr. Grossman was introduced to me by my sister. He delivered my nephew Eric in 1992, my son, Jonathan in 1994, my nephew Anthony in 1997 and my youngest, Kimberly, in 1998. I moved 100 miles away in 1999, otherwise, he would still be my doctor today. My children were delivered by C-section and of course, he was a wonderful surgeon. All I can remember is how he made everything so easy, like it was no big deal. He was always patient, nothing you said ever caught him off guard. You always felt like you were his favorite patient. He always took time to explain everything. He never made you feel stupid for asking questions. I really hated those after baby checkups, so I was complaining and whining but he threw in a joke about all his patients loving that part, that all I could do was laugh. Jonathan is 20 years old today and Kimberly is just about to turn 17. He's studying project management and she is about to attend her 1st prom. Eric is enlisted with the US Air Force and is currently stationed in Oklahoma. Anthony is graduating High School. They are here and thriving today because you held them first. I chose Dr. Grossman randomly from a list of doctors that was covered under our insurance. After my experience I felt I got so lucky to have picked such a great doctor. I couldn't have asked for a better OB/GYN. He is extremely patient and answered all my questions at each of my visits. And being a first time Mom I had a lot of them. I also expressed my interest of having a natural child birth without epidural and he said if that's what you want to do then more power to you. The day of my delivery he didn't push me to do any meds and respected my wishes for a natural birth. I appreciated not having that additional pressure to have a medicated birth. My labor and delivery went extremely smooth and even at the moment when I was totally fearful of what was about to happen (birth of the baby), his demeanor was so calm which helped me relax. Giving birth to a baby is a scary thing for a first time Mom, I'm just happy to have the support that Dr. Grossman and his team provided in my entire pregnancy.
