Not a safe boarding facility, but not bad for beginner lessons.

My family and I enjoyed going to this property when it was ran by former owner, Bob Paluso. Unfortunately, the new owner is not family orientated nor friendly. He does not conduct business the way Bob did. Since the new owner has taken over, we have been extremely disappointed. (In a word - he is CRUDE!) Several of our friends have inquired about trail rides, and we have all agreed that the new owner does not possess any customer service skills nor should he be running a public business. The new owner is NOT an equestrian, nor does he take care of these poor horses. We have colleagues that deal with this ranch and the new owner. We have been informed that many of the trail horses are not tended to properly and have ended lame and are unrideable for a multitude of reasons. The new owner was extremely rude to us and to several of our friends/ co-workers. We will not be back! There are so many other choices for trail rides in Wisconsin. We prefer to patronize ranches with customer service, genuine customer relations and old fashion courtesies, Palomino Pines is NOT one of them! (My family and I highly recommend Kurtz's Corral in Sturgeon Bay, Door county and Bighorn Ranch in Arkdale Wi)

The gang who gets to eat, sit and talk, play games, eat again and ride horses. It was great getting to know the horses, brush them and then try to saddle them. Rylee had no issue helping (doing) for me as while I've ridden a lot, I've not taken care of the horses. The trails are beautiful and set up in a way that it feels like far more than 70 acres. I Tested a lot of my boundaries - bunk house, people, horseback riding after 50, someone else cooking for me, bunk house Thankfully, staff is wonderful, accepting and nonjudgmental of those who literally needed a bit of a push. Nicole, Rylee, Bri & Jay were great hosts and trail guides. We had a wonderfully small group of women for the May retreat who were all accepting and accepting. Whenever we asked for anything, they were right over refilling toilet paper or checking on things. They always asked before entering which was appreciated & respectful towards their guests. The bunkhouse is much nicer than I anticipated (no spiders seen). Everyone was flexible about activities as the weather kept changing its mind. FYI - Other reviews mention the owner, presumably Jay. Yes, he's a little gruff, maybe ruff around the edges. Good heart and soul under that and it is a campground in rural Wisconsin. We didn't have any issues.

My daughter went to this horse camp with two of her friends and she wanted to come home right away…read more First she said the horses were not taken care of well. One horse was very thin and underfed. Another horse had its tail cut very short because it was very tangled. One of the ponies was misbehaving and one of trail guides rode the miniature pony. My daughter also said one of the horses was chewing on the wood fence and that made the horse get high and the owner wouldn't buy the proper equipment to make the horse stop. Second I specifically requested that my daughter and her two friends would be in the same cabin, but instead they were almost split up because halfway through another camper joined and they didn't have the proper planning, so someone had to go to the other cabin (there were two cabins horses and ponies) and they chose my daughter to get switched to the other cabin and my daughter started to have a panic attack, my daughters friends described my daughter as being very pale, the staff did not seem very concerned and did not do much about it. Also one of the camp counselors said cuss words around the campers. Third the older girls got special treatment, two of the older girls got their own cabin with a counselor, my daughters friends says she even saw one of them getting a free candy bar. The trails were also steep for beginner riders. One of my daughters friends said that she almost fell off of the horse during the trail ride. I highly don't recommend this horse camp.
