Pool

Great, quiet place to spend time with the family. There is a pool, horse shoes, play ground, hot tub and tennis court. We used the tennis court as a way for the dog to run. We will be back.

Ask the Community - Glen Eden Resort

Are there laundry facilities on site or nearby?

YES! There is a guest laundry in the main lodge. Also, many of the units have laundry in the units. (Example I know there is a washer-dryer combo in the unit named Chickadee.)

La Joya Dulce - Fields of green at La Joya Dulce Ranch frame your Colorado barn wedding.

They knew all the right questions to ask, had many of the items we needed so we didn't have to rent, and were easy to get along with. Our day went very smooth. In addition to the staff being so great the view and property are as well. I have many friends that see pictures and are wowed by the beautiful site. We had the ceremony out right at the edge of a little hill that looked down on the valley. Then we had the reception dinner in the barn. It was perfect! It was beautiful inside and had plenty of room for the bar, catering, cake and guests. Then we moved the party over to their horse arena where they had games and a dance floor set up. There was plenty of room for everyone to dance and enjoy the evening. I loved that we had access to the site the day before the wedding, Friday, to set up and get everything how we wanted it so we didn't have to worry about that on the day-of. Then we had the site the day after the wedding as well so that when we were done partying we could leave and get some sleep. It was nice to not worry about the set-up or tear-down on the day of! The staff are so friendly and really know what they are doing when it comes to making someone's day special! I would get married here again in a heartbeat!

We planned our wedding in less than 6 months and the team at La Joya Dulce was incredibly flexible, helpful and instrumental in creating our perfect wedding. We didn't have a lot of specific ideas in mind in the beginning, but we were able to work with Mandy and Kathy to make our wedding exactly what we wanted. They were very helpful with coordinating with vendors and making sure every detail was perfect. We found our caterer and photographer through their recommendations and both were excellent! We were lucky to have great weather for the ceremony, outdoor cocktail hour and have the dance floor under the stars. It really was a dream! We were even able to include our dog in our ceremony and reception! The venue is so beautiful and it was so much fun to see our guests reaction to the site. One said "you guys are getting married in heaven" and it really was! The day flew by and the timing was flawless thanks to all of the help from La Joya Dulce making sure that we took the time to create flexible timelines and think of each detail in advance. Our wedding day was truly unforgettable and we could not have done it without Mandy, Kathy and Wayne and the beautiful La Joya Dulce.

There was one room left in town. I had to get that room. It was a dive. Candlewood Suites never offered to pay for it. I even made my reservation with the front desk, lady not even an online reservation. They never offered to make anything right with me. It has been almost a week and I still have not gotten a call from Candlewood suites in Craig Colorado. IHG is working with me and they have been wonderful, but Candlewood Suites hasn't had the decency to call me back. Beware in making a reservation with this establishment, they see nothing wrong with canceling your reservation and not even contacting you.

I took an iron to the sheets and this made them surface. Also, come to find out bedbug bites can take 7 days to appear, we only knew they were there so soon because my sister turned out to be severely allergic. Mine turned up 4 days later. My sister had 47 bites I had 26. Infested! The manager said she had an exterminator and said they found nothing. I did not get proof of this just her words. This is my first time ever dealing with this and I must say this manager is very unprofessional and needs more customer care training. She seems to be protected though because I can't talk to the owner cause the manager has to release the info. I know who the owner is through a search but IGH told me the owner is emailed everything along with the manager. so my guess is the owner doesn't care either. IGH needs a better system and I will never stay at one of their hotels in the future.

Vista Verde Ranch - The Great Room in the Lodge

Vista Verde Ranch

Accommodations are great. Cabins offer families a chance to spend time with one another while meals and activities often involve other guests....which is generally a good thing. We aren't horse people and cannot offer an opinion on the stables, etc.

Stayed Feb 2011 I…read morereally don't know if I can say enough good things about Vista Verde. The experience here was amazing and I can't believe that I'm the first Yelper to review them. The ranch staff were all outgoing and friendly at all times, often stopping to try and meet you if you were a guest that they didn't recognize. Multiple parties through our week long stay were repeat visitors and the regular staff knew them by name. Classes and outings of various types are offered with many having daily schedules (for horse riding lessons) friendly to all skill levels. Select events are available only a few or single times in a week so make sure to check with the staff if you're interested in anything specific during your stay. My group went for the dog sledding in the winter and it was an amazing trip but you do need to grab an appointment early for it! Food selection here was unbelievable. A fully staffed kitchen with a professional chef prepare every meal for all guests at specific times. If your activity plans will have you away from the ranch, they even offer to bag a lunch for you! The meal courses generally offered three to five main course selections with a normal two to three appetizer and desert run. Multiple wine pairings are suggested with each dinner for those interested but not experienced in selection. There were also multiple bottled beers to choose from. A regular selection of soft drinks, juices, and such could also be obtained. The waitstaff were just as friendly as the activity guides and by the end of the week there were even guessing at what we would prefer to order. A unique touch of the ranch is buffet night when the staff dines with you (All of them! Normal meals they may ask to sit with your table just to talk or even join for the meal) and some bring family in as well. Overall it makes for a very comfortable and friendly environment. The lodging was impressive to say the least. Multiple cabins are scattered around the lodge area and rooms (three) may be available within the main lodge itself. Most of the staff stays on site within their own cabins too so if you're hanging out in the lodge on music night, they're just a short walk from 'home' like you so cheer and hoot for that encore (they're rather talented musicians as well)! Housekeeping visits each cabin multiple times a day for room makeup service and turn-down service in the evening. They also have request forms if there are special things that you may be looking for in the fridge while you're there (fees may apply). Wi-Fi is available but keep in mind you're in the middle of the wilderness here so leave that laptop at home instead of showing it to the TSA. Cell service is also very spotty. If you absolutely must stay connected a land line phone and public laptop are available in the lodge for guest use if required. I don't plan on making Vista Verde a one stop vacation and would bet that anyone else would say the same after staying.
