I cannot get over this place! We went tubing here about two years ago and really enjoyed it. Decided to visit again for some summer camping and it was just amazing! Great service by the resort and the restaurant is great! We are planning on spending our anniversary here this fall! Wonderful people and such a special place, a great place to escape the crowds and enjoy yourself. Cannot recommend enough!

Susi/Sean/Yung and more staff were so great to us on our big day! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! I would 100% recommend this venue to anyone wanting an event location! The day went so smooth and I'm getting compliments from guests that were amazed with this venue. Couldn't have done it without the great staff to make this day possible.

We are from California and came to visit some relatives for the holidays. we decided to come tube here because we heard it was fun! honestly we had an awesome time here. A couple of the slopes were closed, but the ones we went on were super fun. After tubing, we went ice skating on the little pond that had been frozen over. i didn't know how to skate but with a little practice i sort of had the hang of it! Would totally come back here and recommend if you wanna have fun in the snow!

Beaver Meadows Resort Ranch is a great location for a weekend getaway from Fort Collins. Red Feather is a fabulous place, and I was able to utilize some mild snowshoeing trails while I was there. The lodging at Beaver Meadows is rustic but cozy. My warm room was a welcome refuge from the snow and wind outside. An electric fireplace added some nice ambiance to the small space as well. I do wish there had been some more accommodations on site given the isolated nature of the resort. There is not a large variety of entertainment and restaurant options outside of the resort, so it would've been great to have more available during my stay. The tubing hill was a great amenity, but there is not a discount on the almost $50 ticket for people who are already staying at the resort. Additionally, the restaurant had very limited options, few (if any) of which accommodated any sort of dietary restrictions. I enjoyed my stay at Beaver Meadows, and I hope they seek to grow their offerings and amenities so they can offer an even better experience for their guests in a truly beautiful location.

    Trash never taken out once.

If you prefer clean facilities this is not the place for you and your family. Your better off just primitive camping. That would be cleaner than this place. My family stayed for a week and not once was there an effort to fix the Womens toilet. The whole week it was never touched. Pictures is attached. Also, the trash was never taken out. They had signs posted that we need to clean facilities or they will lock it up and have guests pay for using bathrooms?! So it's my job now to do your job when I arrive for vacation with my family? I wish I had taken a picture of the sign but it was at camp. Unbelievable! I guess the owner was out of town and had a friend managing things while they are gone. I might look into a professional and not friends to run my business. You couldn't tell who was a guest staying there and who was an employee when you needed help. We went into the office and bunch of staffs kids were in there but no adult to answer questions. WTF? Also, the peddle boats for the pond seemed to always be in use by the staffs kids when we wanted to give it a go. The maps that they offer for Lower Pearl Camping was a joke. The road literally dead ends on the map provided. You just keep driving and hope you make the correct turn and stumble upon your camp site. We love camping and understand it's the outdoors. But it's the little things that make your experience a bit more complete. This place could be so amazing but not sure I want to invest another family trip with disgusting facilities, disappointing staff support, and half ass information. There's plenty of other camping locations I will be more than happy to spend my vacation days on than this place.

One bathroom for the whole place. Scenery was amazing!

Slopes were awesome for kids and the family. Mom and Pop run place so service is friendly but not super efficient. Check-in location was difficult to find. Restaurant service was not very efficient, super slow. Food was good but not amazing. We ordered the burgers which was good but we asked for lettuce tomatoes onions which they brought 4 sets of on a separate plate to make your own. When the waitress rang us up, the prices were way cheaper than what the menu said. I even verified our order but we fed a family of 4 with specialty beverages for under $40. Pond was beautiful to skate on but the skates they provided were super narrow and you just grab what is on the rack.

ICE ICE BABY. COULDNT CLOSE THE DOOR AND THE CARPET WAS SATURATED. Smelled nasty

Part of our party (two adults and four kids) went ahead of us as we had dogs and needed a place where the dogs could be with us. Luckily, The Tavern was accommodating to that and we could sit with them on the patio. Since they got there ahead of us, their experience seemed to go smoothly. The rest of us (four adults, two teens, and a five year old) got our orders in and were warned that the kitchen was backed up and it would be a while for our food. And it was a while, about an hour or so. Aside from the youngest who was desperately hungry for her pizza, we managed fine. The drinks were delicious enough to tide us over: I got their take on an old fashioned, and my friend got a mule after someone in line recommended it to me. She said it was the best mule she has had at a bar in ages. The food was good and very decently priced. I got the caesar salad and a personal pizza and enjoyed both. It was good to not pay exorbitant prices in an area where options for restaurants are limited. It was a perfect day to chill out on the patio, and we also got the pleasure of the feral kittens who came to visit. After the long wait for food, we were anxious to get back to our campsite and settle in for the evening. Everything has to be ordered at the bar, and tabs need to be closed out there as well. This is where the waiting game continued, and where it became very clear they were not prepared for the holiday weekend rush. The woman who had taken our orders at the bar was in the back managing things in the kitchen, and the man at the bar was also busy being a sound tech for the musician that came in. There was another guy standing behind the bar doing absolutely nothing. It seemed he worked there, but only at the direction at the other bartender-sound tech. Which wouldn't have been a big deal if the line weren't taking up the bulk of the space in the small indoor dining area. It took at least half an hour if not longer to be in that line just to close our tab. When we finally departed, between choosing food, placing orders, waiting for food, and then waiting to close tabs, we had been there almost two and a half hours. It is very apparent that this is a well-loved local joint based on the interactions I had, the custom Yeti pints they had for customers, and regulars going behind the bar to pour their own pints. The atmosphere was great, and I love that. As I mentioned, restaurant options are limited, so beggars can't be choosers for our one night where we chose to dine out rather than cook at camp. But knowing how busy holiday weekends are, I was left disappointed but how things were being managed. I'd check this place out again on a calmer night or later in the evening for drinks, but definitely skipping the rush hours.

FIVE STARS goes to the Cherokee Park Ranch / Dude Ranch in Livermore, CO. This is my 500th review…read moreon Yelp, and I dedicate this review to a place that has positively changed my life forever! Cherokee Park Ranch is AMAZING! The ranch has a fascinating history and is known as one of the first guest ranches in Colorado. During the late 1880's it was a colorful stage coach stop between Fort Collins, Colorado and Laramie, Wyoming. Incoming guests had to chance Indian confrontations and the rates were only $8.00 per week! Now Indian hostilities are nonexistent but the Western character of the ranch remains. The park is owned by the Prince family - Dick, Christine, Thomas, Elise, Townsend, and Emily Prince. The property boasts over 10 guest cabins, a swimming pool, about 125 horses, and an AMAZING staff! Typically, guests make week-long reservations for a true vacation on the ranch. They plan a ful schedule for you everyday and offer options for you to choose, ranging from: Horseback riding, Skeet shooting, Nature Walks, Fly Fishing, Painting Lessons, White Water Rafting, Rodeos, Rock Climbing, Country Western Dancing Lessons, Mountain Biking, swimming in the pool, billiards, and much much more. I have to say, that owners Christine and Dickie go above and beyond the call of duty for ensuring that their guests have a fun and safe time while at their ranch. EVERY aspect of hospitality is considered and well executed at this ranch! All 25+ members of their employees work super hard to ensure a great experience at the ranch. We had 50 guests in our group/cohort - ranging from 2 - 80. Here's my highlight of my vacation: Horseback riding: The ranch owns over 125 horses (NO leased horses) and offers half day or all day rides every day. The ranch welcomes ALL ability riders from never-touched-a-horse to born in the saddle. I went horseback riding 6 of the 7 days that I spent at the ranch. Each of the rides were original, and showed off the beautiful landscape of the Colorado waters, meadows, mountains, and scenery. The ranch offers short morning and afternoon rides (2 -3 hours, your choice) or an all-day ride (approximately 6 hours). I opted for the all day rides and was AMAZED with the nice trails that the ranch had chosen for their guests. Guests can choose from walking rides, to trotting (where the horse does a bit of a prance), to Loping (actual gallup). Cherokee Park Ranch is one of the few ranches in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah that offer Loping riding (because of liability reasons). The wranglers at the ranch gave me lessons, so I went from a walk-only kind of rider to Lopoing the meadows of the Colorado mountains! Extra kudos go to my two favorite wranglers - Jordan (North Carolina) and Olivia (Virginia?) - you both made it a wonderful trip! LOVE IT! Every meal is inclued in the cost of your stay. The ranch hired Chuck from Tennessee to be the head chef this summer. Chuck owned several restaurants in TN and cooked up some amazing meals including: Fall off the bone beef ribs, bacon wrapped fillet mignon, baked salmon, chicken pot pie, & beef pot roast. One of my favorites were the home-made chocolate creme brulee and snickerdoodle cookes (and brownies, Colorado chocolate snaps, lemon bars). Amazing food, amazing wait staff. The food was so good here, I wanted to slap my grandma! Guest Rodeo: At the end of the week, all guests are required to showcase their horse-riding skills by competing in home-ranch rodeo. All 50 guests line up to do barrel racing, pole bending, and keyhole riding (all at your own speed). Both kids and adults participate and cheered on by all members of the staff! The ranch times you and hands out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons at the end of the week. SUPER FUN! They even include a pie eating contest and a boot run (where everyone contributes one boot to the pile and has to run to put it on and cross the finish line). SUPER FUN! What I especially liked about this ranch was that they warmly welcomed children. This is perhaps the only ranch in Colorado where they have kids programs all day long. There are three staff members assigned to help entertain the children while the adults go off and enjoy the day. Activities include riding "Rodney" who is a 27 year old miniature horse (ages 2-5), arts and crafts (horseshoe painting, bead making, tiedye, etc), sleeping over night in a kid's-only slumber party in a HUGE Teepee, horseback riding (ages 6-12), nature walks, and much more. The ranch setting uniquely has no electronic interruptions - so leave your cell phones and computers at home. You won't need them here! To the owners, Christine and Dickie - you have an AMAZING thing going on here! No wonder 86% of your guests are return customers! You and your staff work hard to not only provide a great vacation, but to also change people's lives. Thank you! Service Grade: A+ Food Grade: A Worth The Money Grade: A+ Overall Impression: A+!

The maintenance man, Steven, was friendly and kind. However, the same cannot be said for some other staff. One member of my family went up to the store on site, and asked for more towels, because they only had four towels in their cabin that sleeps six. She was rudely told that all cabins only get four towels, and that she would have to pay to get any extras. As for our cabin, it had seen better days. The stair treads were held in with two screws and staples, the toilet was not solidly mounted to the floor, and the master bed's springs were collapsed, turning the bed into a bowl. The general maintenance regime of the place could be described as "layering new skin over broken bones". My grandfather sat down on one of the picnic tables, only to have the rear seat board break in two. Meanwhile, some rather ratty looking tables were being repainted. Quite literally, new skin on broken bones. The cabin had no air conditioning or heater, which isn't too bad, and frankly, neither of those units would fit in this ~400 square foot cabin. In summary, the scenery and the outdoors were nice, but the cabins were generally falling apart, with a few exceptions. I don't think we're coming back.

Plus, they have a store (and a liquor store) that's open every day - and reasonably priced if you consider where they're located. Will definitely be back. They do have wifi (kind of slow). Some wacko-bird, overly-entitled customer was running around ranting about flies and smell, lack of valet service, and cellphone signal (they do have a pay phone - how cute!). All I noticed was the smell followed her as did the flies. Later on she was eaten by a bear, so thankfully we didn't have to listen to her or smell her anymore.
