I had just retired after 42 years of working and i wanted to ride my Harley on a trip west. I headed west with no plan. I was tent camping and found the Canyonside campground. June the owner/ operator had common since rules. She had both cabins that were very clean and sites for campers with electric and water. I was only going to stay for two or three days and ended up staying for two weeks. The wildlife and nature within the Poutre Canyon was fantastic. June was a great host. She keep the shower and restroom facilities very clean. After pulling myself away from Canyonside, my travels took me thru nine more states and I so wish I would have stayed, In Canyonside. Thank you so much June I will try and make it back
Absolutely loved this place! Just got back yesterday after a 5 night stay. June & Jeff were so friendly and helped us park our 30 foot RV in the dark! This is a family campground that is also 420 friendly. Gorgeous property with lots of nonstop beauty right across the street from the Poudre river. Lots of birds, chipmunks & rabbits. I can't wait to go back! They have tent spaces and cabins and RV spots. June was a great host and you can tell she really puts her all into making sure her guests enjoy their stay. This was our first family camping vacation in our RV and we just can't say enough good things about this campground. There is a playground for young kids right next to a common area that has benches surrounding a giant fire pit. At night time there are laser lights that display beautiful lights onto the side of the canyon that is right there in the campgrounds. We were able to walk across the 2 lane Poudre Canyon Highway and followed a trail right down to the beautiful river. Plenty of hiking trails within the campground too. Do yourself a favor and visit this beautiful place. read more

This place is a gem!!! The view from our campsite was divine and hearing the Poudre River at night was so peaceful!! Had a blast hanging out at the river during the day, which was right across the street. This place has it all! Wifi, toilets, showers, fire pits, sinks, etc. It's a woman owned business and the owner is super friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Cannot wait to return! read more

We just had our wedding weekend at canyonside on June 19th and it was beautiful. June, the owner, was amazing. Steven, who I've been in contact with through it all, made sure we were taken care of. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. If you're thinking of using this campground as your wedding venue, I say do it! Be respectful, don't leave food and trash around and you'll have a great time. I highly recommend! Every moment was magical. Thank you canyonside for the amazing experience read more

We stayed here for 1 night in a "cabin" while our family stayed across the road at Archer's. We spent all of our time across the road and should have payed the 10 dollars more to stay there. Our unit was actually part of a compound like structure of attached buildings, with RVs parked right out front. There was a hospitality station, literally outside our living room window (2 ft from our couch), with a sink, coffee and microwave, I assume for RV and tent campers. Very little privacy and the cabin itself was in great need of updating: furniture and appliances from the 70's, caving in beds, and the smell of decades old mold. The windows barely opened and the screens all had holes in them. Oh, and the bathroom sink was in the living room/kitchen??? We checked in with what I assume was the owner's daughter, brought in our bags and went across the road for lunch. When my husband went back up to get something, he was stopped by the owner and rudely asked if he was going to bother checking in. He let her know we had and showed her the key and she walked away to the office without a response. The only other time we saw her was after our family had come up to see how crappy the cabin was the next morning. She stopped and accusingly asked how many people we had staying in the cabin. I assured her that all of my family was happily staying across the street and I suggest you do the same. read more

My friends and I love camping along the Poudre River. Our usual spot at Glen Echo Resort was not available due to the river running so high so we opted to try out a new place. MISTAKE! The photos on their web page make it look like the tent camping area is right on the river when in fact, it's actually across the road. The whole set up there was quite strange- it was almost like someone had a house and a couple of out buildings and some land and they decided to make it into a campground. The bathroom was sketchy! There was a time limit posted right next to the love seat, circa 1975. The owner of the campground was less than polite when it came to many things about our group. We paid extra to bring our dogs but every person with a dog got a lecture on how much she'd charge if you didn't pick up after your dog or if the dog was off leash. We are responsible adults- I think explaining that once would have been sufficient. We were also charged extra for some people in our group who stayed past the check out time even though we had other people who had already paid for the 2nd day and were coming up to take the place of those leaving. At NO TIME did we have more people at our campground than we had paid for. Needless to say we packed up our stuff and headed down the road to our old faithful, Glen Echo. Even though we had the last sites available right next to the bathroom, it was still 100x better. read more

The view was lovely, as long as you don't mind the bear that flips the dumpster at night. It had only one toilet/bath shack with a shower in it. The water hook up was broken at my site, which was strange, why put me in that site when there where so many empty. Why not put me in another site?! I thought June( the owner/manager?) was nice when I first met her, but not so much now. I booked a two week stay and left after the first week because of the bear. I was getting ready to walk my dog when the bear flipped the dumpster! It scared me half to death! She refused to refund my second week that I had paid for, claiming she had to turn away business. That's awful funny, because I remember there being SEVERAL open sites. I lost $240.00, not small amount by any means! I wish I could give less than one star! Save your time & money, go somewhere safer!!! read more

This is a very nice place! We stayed 3 nights for a long weekend territory in the canyon. The owner was friendly and accommodating. The camp managers were very helpful when we arrived and friendly throughout our stay. The shower had hot water and was very clean. We almost passed because of the 2 negative reviews on here but knowing people are needy and expect the moon, we took a shot. It was well worth it and we will be returning in the future! Thanks for the nice weekend!! read more

We just spent 4 days here with our popup. We were welcomed by camp site manager as the owner was off property at the moment. Check in was easy. We were even able to move sites so we had more shade. It would have been nice to be on the same side of the road as the river but that is not at all the properties fault. The owner's dog Shelby is amazing. The only thing that would have been nice to have more than one bathroom / shower room. (They do have an extra camper available to use as a bathroom. Which is excellent.) Even a men and women's would be ideal. Otherwise, the property is kept up. Everybody is very friendly and there is a beautiful community area for fire pits, horseshoes and a playground for children. The owner, June, came down and spoke with us on several occasions and was extremely friendly! Having Archer's right across the street was extremely convenient. Was a good base for our troops and travels around the area. read more

We spent 4 wonderful days at Canyonside Campgrounds. Lee & Cindy, our camp hosts, were so welcoming to us & extremely kind people! We purchased our first trailer & knew very little about how everything works. Lee was more than helpful in educating us about our trailer, & even helped us with certain things. He was a life-saver! We recommend this campsite! read more

Good luck trying to make a reservation. Try to contact them several times with no call back. I understand its under new management and I'll just wait until it's under new management again which will probably be soon. read more

My husband and I have stayed here before and had a very nice time. They took care of the bear problem, June has always been very nice to us and we never took our dogs. She is very accommodating when and where she can be. It is not a huge campground, but is a very nice well kept campground. read more
