Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas

May 2026 My wife and…read moreI are Marriott Vacation Club owners, and I honestly don't understand all the negative comments some people make about timeshares. A lot of it comes down to how you use your ownership. We love ours, and it has more than paid for itself over the years. We recently stayed at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas in a one-bedroom villa with a full kitchen, living room, and plenty of space to relax. The accommodations were comfortable, cozy, and perfect for an extended stay. One of the best things about this resort is the location. Once you park your car, you really don't need to drive again until it's time to leave unless you're planning to explore the surrounding area. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, along with plenty of mountain activities and attractions nearby. The resort itself offers a full schedule of daily activities through its event calendar, an activities room, and access to the restaurant and bar located in the main hotel. There is always something to do whether you're visiting for a few days or an entire week. While the villas are still very nice, it's probably not too far off from needing a refresh and some updates. That said, everything was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained during our stay. This is a fantastic destination for both winter skiing and summer mountain adventures. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

Our favorite hotel - anywhere. You truly feel like welcome guests here, while supporting a…read morefamily-run business. The staff are incredibly kind, the rooms are beautiful. Included breakfast is hot and delicious, filtered water with citrus is available on both floors, fresh cookies upon check in, a fitness room with sauna, and my favorite is well maintained their outdoor pool is (clean and warm - most pools are so cold only kids can go in) and a hot jacuzzi. We visit Steamboat 2-3 times a year from Denver and we're regulars here. We were happily surprised with a welcome back greeting package including a bottle of wine, chocolates, and Steamboat Inn mug, and coloring cards with colored pencils for our child, (we also stay here with a baby, this is great place for families and they have a high chair in the breakfast area). Most lodging is simply a place to sleep and shower and go explore, here spending a day enjoying the room and amenities is part of the vacation. Location is convenient to town while being in a quiet area. Wonderful value. Highly recommended.

The common areas, especially the lobby with the stone fireplace, are super cozy and clean; we actually spent a few of our post ski afternoons hanging out by the fire drinking the coffee and munching on the delicious chocolate chip cookies provided at the coffee station. One complaint here is that the staff lounge is right off the lobby and while we were sitting there we very clearly heard a staff member getting reprimanded which was pretty awkward. JJ at the front desk made sure we had everything we needed including extra robes, towels for the hot springs, and some dining suggestions. As many people have mentioned, the included breakfast is very solid; definitely hearty enough to fuel us up for a day on the slopes. The room itself is quaint but comfortable. The towels are dense and fluffy and the attention to eco-friendly details is great to see- love the little bag for bringing home the handmade soaps! Our biggest complaint about the rooms is that the beds, while comfy, were very wobbly. We had 4 people, so two to a queen, but it was hard to sleep when you could feel every toss and turn of the other person in bed. Lastly, the shuttle service is EXCELLENT! Always on time at the designated pickup spots and great for getting to the mountain and downtown. Bob had some good jokes for us during our rides. Overall, a very pleasant and comfortable stay with homey touches at an unbeatable price.

There was free parking available, and could have driven anywhere in the area within a couple of minutes including the resort. It was also steps away from a free bus route that took you right to the ski base area. It was way less walking to use the bus from this hotel to get to the gondola, than it would have been from a parking lot. And took the same amount of time with no parking cost. There was also a joint ski storage room here which was very convenient. Outside of that, some of the other reviews hold true - it was definitely a slightly dated hotel. The rooms are small but not that small, and it wasn't a big deal. But the bathrooms and shower were definitely tight, and a little makeshift with the shower curtains. The walls were thin and I could hear anything going on in the hallway or neighbors rooms. Used radiator heating, and was woken up by popping from this outside of my room on both nights. The hot tub was nice but also wasn't very hot with no way to adjust, and there were a few flies, and the TV in that common area wasn't connected. Overall it was a fine place to stay. It is an old hotel and one of those places that if you just need a place to stay while enjoying the mountains is fine, but if you look too closely at some of the fine details will probably find more and more that isn't perfect. I would stay here again no problem. I would just wish it was either $100 less, or a little bit more updated for the price.

It had a large bathroom and a gas fireplace in the room to make it quite cozy. It is also a little off the main/shared room. Some notes: - When you arrive, you'll have a letter greeting you with all you need to know. We had some requests for early check in and late check out, and also had some questions on the internet; Beth was quick to respond and they were super flexible. She lives close by and they are quick to help however they can. - We stayed in the winter, and were on the fence if we could walk to town (from googling prior to arrival). I would say that even if a little warmer, the walk isn't super reasonable. Maybe in the summer it would be a nice walk. - The common space is large and is plenty for a couple of couples. I would be a little concerned about space if all the rooms were booked. Again, we had a lovely stay at Mariposa and would be happy to stay there again.
