So I can't begin to tell you how much I wish this was a 5 star rating. The menu choices looked AMAZING. Unfortunately we never got that far. Upon arrival on a Saturday morning a nice young man quickly seated us at a table and said "your waitress will be right with you". And it went straight downhill from there. To set the stage, besides my wife and I there were two other couples ... so 6 people at 3 tables. 2 waitresses and it looked like 5 more people at the bar and in the kitchen. The employees outnumbered the customers. We sat and looked over the menu. Choices looked INCREDIBLE!! One waitress was covering each of the other two tables. So they each had one. We waited in excess of ten minutes and no one even acknowledged our existence. No "I'll be right with you". No "what would you like to drink?" No "let me get you some waters" We watched our waitress passed right by us no less than five times (her other table was right next to ours). The last time, when she went behind the bar and started sipping a drink and looked right at us ... we got up and left. Now everyone is allowed to have a bad day. And we will go back and give them a second chance and will gladly change this 1 star rating. But this is a small family run restaurant in a building that has been dozens of other things over the years. Reasonable customer service is a must. And not speaking to customers at all is unacceptable. So we'll go back and try again and we're hoping this is a one off and this restaurant is very successful. read more

My wife and I visited here and we are glad we did! Food and food choices were fantastic. Items not normally found in this area. My salmon was cooked as I asked and very tasty. Service was welcoming and prompt. Glen Alpine Station has my vote. We live very close and look forward to visiting often. read more

I would give a zero but I can't. Let me start by saying I don't leave reviews but after 3 visits to this restaurant I am done. Every time has had an issue with getting food out of the kitchen or terrible service. This last visit today just left me angry and frustrated with how this place operates. I will start with the good news. Our waitress tried, she worked hard and was attentive, our meal ended up being comped by a nice gentlemen who might have been a manager because we never received two of our meals after over an hour wait. Now the bad. We arrived and there were TWO other tables that had already been waited on and were being served. I went with my wife and daughter and we were hoping they had worked out all the previous issues....wishful thinking. My wife ordered an Eggplant Sandwich, my daughter the Fried Green Tomato club and I ordered breakfast. My daughter was served her club 35 minutes after arriving, my wife and I waited another 20 minutes and still had not received any food. We then told the server to forget our food as they were still trying to prepare it. My daughter was done with her meal. Menus were filthy, tables not clean. Whoever was working in the kitchen didn't gave a clue. 3 strikes and you're out. It was one of the worst dining experiences of my life and I have worked in the industry as well as eaten at many restaurants large and small over the years. The owner wasn't there, they had a party upstairs that they weren't staffed for. I could go on and on. All I can say is if they don't get their problems fixed this restaurant will not be open very long. I keep hearing how they have fixed this and that but today was the worst of the three experiences by far. We wanted so much to like this place, it's close to our house and the menu looks promising, but if you can't even deliver food ordered then you are in the wrong business. read more

I ordered the salmon BLT. It was good but had the tiniest piece of salmon I've ever seen and considering the price, it was very disappointing. The sweet potato fries were good. My husband got the chicken pie. It was huge and he said it was good. The place is fixed up really nice and was very clean. The service was good. First time here and went in for breakfast and got a menu and drink order very quickly. Menu options looked great, but it took 20 minutes before my order was taken. While waiting for my food I emptied my tea glass and set it at the edge of the table for a refill, two different waitresses and I assume the owner walked by my table with the empty glass at the edge at least 10 times before I was asked if I wanted a refill. I ordered "Traditional" Eggs Benedict, about 15 minutes later the food finally arrived. The eggs were very overcooked with the yolks as hard as a hard boiled egg, and a tiny amount of the thinnest hollandaise sauce I have ever seen, it was more like a small amount of melted butter. Not to mention a slice of tomato between the english muffin and the ham??? I have never had "traditional" Eggs Benedict with a slice of tomato. Then there was a dog that I assumed was a service dog for one of the waitresses since it followed her until she made him stay at the entrance to the kitchen area. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs and did not mind the dog being in the restaurant. But she had the dog lying down at the entrance to the waitstaff area, so every time a waitress entered the dining area they either had to step to the side to walk around the dog or step over it, I kept waiting for the accident to happen. I will give them a couple more tries because even though the service was slow and the eggs overcooked, the food was tasty, the fried potatoes were perfect, but next time I will try lunch or dinner. read more

Food is overpriced, burnt, slow. Only positive, the servers were friendly. Overprice, 5 dollars for a side of very thin bacon. 5 dollars for a tiny side of tiny Sausages. Pre shredded cheese on the grits, you can see them covered in Cornstarch because the food only comes out two ways. Cold, or burnt. Smoke billowing from the kitchen, fire alarms going off. Dont waste your time. The good reviews are likely friends of the owners or paid. read more

I held off on posting this, but after hearing even more disappointing things, I felt it was finally time to speak up.I was there on May 5th and ended up waiting almost two hours for our food--only to leave without ever receiving it. From what we could tell, we weren't the only ones. Nearly every table around us seemed to be dealing with the same excessive wait.What really stood out was the interaction between the waitstaff and the kitchen. According to our server, the owner was running the kitchen and apparently didn't know what they were doing. That's deeply concerning.We've been loyal customers for months, and it's been disheartening to watch the original staff slowly disappear. The new staff clearly isn't being given a fair chance--they're thrown in without proper training because the place is constantly short-staffed. Honestly, if I shared everything our server told us during our visit, it would probably make you think twice about eating here again. read more

We were very glad that a restaurant opened so near to us, but seems as if they just can't fix the service issues. The food is good...but if you are in the least bit of hurry, go somewhere else. The first time we went for lunch, we waited an hour before they brought our food. To give them credit, however, they did comp our entire meal. So back today for a PLANNED...with reservations and only 2 meal options Valentine's dinner. 15 minutes to get water; 30 minutes to take our order; skeleton crew to serve; our waitress came for desert orders and she didn't realize we hadn't even had our entrees! They planned for 2 seatings (5:00 and 7:00) so they knew how many guests were coming, what to cook (we had to give our choice of the 2 dinners with our reservation), and how many wait staff they would need. So what else did they need to know in order to plan? We were there 2 1/4 hours. Yes, the food was good, but they absolutely MUST fix their service issues, or I fear this could be another failed attempt at this location. One more time on the 27th for lunch with friends. One more chance...but that will be it for me if the service hasn't improved. read more
