I have a Toyota Corolla Hybrid LE 2024. Availability: I called in Friday morning and they said I could drop my car off at 9:30am same day, so that was awesome. Customer Service: They are super professional and gave me a quote quickly. The people at the desk were nice. Value: They quoted me $580 for two passenger side rear mirrors. I agreed, and called my insurance company to see if they could cover and the insurance company got a better deal for a total of $380. It would have been nice if they explained why, so this is the only sketchy part of the service. Literally anything could have helped, so I didn't feel they were just trying to rip me off. Service Completion Time: I dropped my car off 30 mins early at 9:00am. They didn't finish my car until 4:00pm. It was a one day turn around time, but if they were going to take a while it would have been nice if they gave me an estimate of where I was in line to fix the car. Service Quality: The mirror looks good. I'll come back here in a couple months if there is a problem, but they gave me a guaranteed it would be work well or I could come back. The insurance made them agree to this. Plus they vacuumed up all the glass, so I thought that was very sweet. Overall: they nailed 3/5 of my criteria. I finally fell victim to the "BIP". Waking up in the morning and finding out your window is broken, especially an expensive one, and in the middle of winter is disappointing and frustrating. However, Jonn, the manager took great care of me and made the process stress free. He patched up my window, ordered me a replacement, and vaccumed my car before and after he installed my new window. Jonn had me on my way in under 20 minutes and even offered to come to my job and install my window. Jonn is the man, and deserves a pay raise! read more

Pros: 2015 honda CRV's rear window was broken and the scheduling/service was fast. Cons: Received the car back with paint damage on top of rear hatch. The explanation i received was, "whoever did the paint job in your car did a poor job. We use compressed air to any car and never had this kind of damage before". My reply was, "I bought it brand new from the dealer". Their reply was, "It may be a poor paint job with whomever painted it in the factory". So I will leave it for you readers to draw the conclusion. Now the disappointment: I chose this place because it is connected to my insurance and a glowing 5 star from yelp. But upon receiving the car,THE TOP ROOF IS FULL OF BROKEN GLASS. I informed front desk staff and she had it cleaned by the technician. I did not receive any apology. The paint damage I have no way of knowing the truth. But the broken glasses on top of the car is definitely unacceptable. So I can not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Had a appointment at 2 arrive 10 minutes early no other cars were there The worker said I could wait in the waiting room I told him I'm going to walk down the street to get coffee when I came back he was doing somebody else's car so I waited patiently after an hour of watching him I got frustrated and told him that I had a 2 o'clock appointment because I went had to pick up my kids from school said he would start on my car in 10 minutes didn't start till 20 minutes later I wasn't out of there till almost 4 o'clock and he broke my windshield wiper and then told me it was already broken and to repair it because it would mess up my windshield and handed me the broken piece in my hand so I had to spend a extra $40 on new blades I would never go back to this place .... 1st review!!!!! 2nd .... I appreciate your time and response however I am located in alameda and for anyone who lives here or can do a weather check knows that it had been raining for the past few days. With that being said I find it very hard to believe that I went the last month, weeks or even days without knowing I had a broken windshield wiper! They helped me file a claim with my insurance (State Farm) and then they immediately ordered the glass from Subaru. The next day I dropped my Outback off and they had it replaced in just a few hours. Highly recommend. Had to get my windshield replaced a couple of years ago. Since, I have had rocks hit my windshield, kicked up on the freeway, leaving small cracks. As I'm having a current windshield issue on my 2013 SMART car, my Insurance asked me to contact the company who previously repaired it, for the receipt (Yeah, don't ask. I don't understand it either, because I paid out of pocket for it, but ok). However, I think everything happens for a reason, as I had so much going on at the time of my windshield incident, and failed to follow through on what I had promised GlassTek: a review. So GlassTek, I have to thank Progressive Insurance for looping me back to you again. And thank you Megan (sic?), for helping me out on the phone this morning, to send me a copy of the receipt. It took me only a moment to recall who the previous auto glass repair shop was, as GlassTek had taken SUCH good care of me. So, how did I end up working with GlassTek in Alameda? In 2015, I was living in Jingletown at the time, just down the street from GlassTek. I was prepping to move from Jingletown-Oaktown to Portland, OR, and I had a monumental amount of stuff going on, as I had lived in California all my life, and this was a big move. In early November 2015, in the middle of the night, vandals swept over Jingletown and smashed in a bunch of windshields, mine being one of their victims (see pictures). It was depressing, and sad, and the last friggen thing I needed to deal with. After going back and forth with my insurance company, I decided to pay out of pocket for my windshield repair, which was actually a good thing, because it freed me up to visit whatever repair shop I wanted to! After seeking out, and talking with my neighbors who had also been victims of the windshield vandals, I decidedly headed to GlassTek, whom my neighbors were raving about. GlassTek was able to fit me in THAT DAY for repairs, which was good because even though it was less than a mile away, I had to drive over the Park Street steel bridge with my head out the window, so I could see! THAT was definitely....an experience I hope never to repeat. When I arrived, the tech who checked me in was kind and empathized with me, as he knew how hard our neighborhood had been hit, and was glad he and his team could help us. I had never dealt with a windshield issue before, and I didn't really know what to expect... I thought the turnaround time might take a good minute, but much to my delight, I had a call the next morning, letting me know my car would be ready by mid afternoon! I appreciated their helpful, kind team, and their work was exceptional, from drop off to the final handshake. When I arrived, my SMART girl was a good as new, but GlassTek gave me further precautions, as they sent me off with care instructions, as my car's windshield needed time to settle in. I recommend to the Yelp community, wholeheartedly, GlassTek. They have that old-school customer service touch my parents used to wax poetic over. I now see what all the fuss is about! Though I have to say, that old-school service just adds to the warm 'small town' glow of Alameda, and why so many people want to call the darling, bucolic town of Alameda their home. I was busy in the weekend so I made an appointment for Monday morning and it took about an hour and half as planned when I went in Friday. Very quick and easy. These guys are QUICK! I called them while rolling down 880... Right after being struck by a rock (no, I wasn't tailgating. No one in front of me. ARGH) They said to come right in so they could inspect the damage. A quick description of what they could possibly do to fix the damage before the whole windshield cracked, and they were off and running. Insurance is accepted here (AAA paid for the repair) and I was out the door wit a fixed windshield in about 30 minutes! Thankfully we caught it early.
