I'm an 84 year old woman and I questioned the price. I also have a great sense of humor, so I said well if you are taking me across karma's k a B---h! They are a group of young boys and took offense to my joke and refused to work on my car! I drove to another repair shop and I also needed rotors,they asked if I wanted to see how they were working out worn. Auto Repair would have slapped a pair of pads on the worn down rotors, so I am grateful that they refused to work on my car. And when they grow up I hope they develop a sense of humor. Also the waiting area has 3 metal high stools to sit on and every time they go back and forth ( which they do a lot) a deafening bell chimes which is very irritating when you have to sit on those hard, cold stools for an hour.

Because she arrived late in the day, they asked her to leave the car overnight. The next morning they told her the battery was bad and quoted over $350 to replace it. She called Sam's Club in Bluffton--$140 with free installation. When she called the Auto Care Center back, they said she still owed $63 just for the battery test. Running late for work, she told me what happened, so I called the manager, Gary. When I questioned the $63 fee--especially when local auto parts stores test batteries for free--his response was, "I got to pay taxes." He repeated this instead of reconsidering the charge. When I towed my car to United on 5/26/26, United (John) told me a Genuine Mazda Fuel Pump WAS NOT AVAILABLE and I had to get an Aftermarket part. I paid $1109.67 for this Aftermarket part which failed in less than 30 days and I only drive my car 1-2 times per week. On 6/23/26, my car was dangerously stalling out on 278 & Burnt Church Rd and making a loud sound (not drivable). I thought I was going to get killed. Beachside Auto was right there, so I pulled in. Beachside diagnosed the issue right away as the faulty aftermarket fuel pump. They said this is a very sensitive part and genuine parts should be used on Mazda's for compatibility reasons. I guess United didn't know this? Beachside ordered a Genuine Mazda Fuel Pump (which arrived in 1 day), replacing the aftermarket part, and my car's been running great ever since. On 6/29/26, I brought the aftermarket fuel pump back to United to see about getting a refund since I was charged $1109.67 for this bad part. (Note that Beachside's Genuine Mazda part cost was only $880 for the REAL thing). I was willing to negotiate with United on the Labor ($405) since they'd already done the work. United said they'd file a warranty claim and that it'd be after July 4th to get back to me. I asked John how Beachside could get the Genuine Mazda part in a day when he told me they were not available. John tried to defend himself by saying he meant that the Genuine Mazda parts were not available on THAT specific day (i.e., 5/26/26). I can't read John's mind, nor know what he meant to say- I can only act on what he DID say to me that day - that the Genuine Mazda part was NOT available, only aftermarket parts were available. Even if local Mazda stock was all out that specific day, the part could have been shipped from another location outside their local delivery area. (The part is small - about the size of a very small cantaloupe). I returned to United a few days later to follow up on the warranty claim but they needed more time. I requested the $1109.67 part price refunded but John said that was "unlikely". John also called me 7/8/26 to ask me (again) WHY I didn't bring my car back to them for repair; I gave him the same response - that I couldn't trust them. They told me I had to use an Aftermarket part (no Mazda parts available) when Beachside somehow could get a Genuine Mazda part in just 1 day. United's "warranty repair" would have put another BAD AFTERMARKET PART back in my car. Additionally, another statement caused me to question their integrity/accuracy. When I asked about leaving my car outside overnight, John said not to worry because they have a "secure lot" since it's a tow yard. When I arrived on 5/26, no security existed -NO fencing whatsoever, no Rottweiler, n-o-t-h-i-n-g - anyone can walk right into their property. When I questioned that ("secure lot"), it became, "well, we've never had a problem before". On 7/15, I went back to United for their final decison. John told me I will get NOTHING ($0.00) back because I should have TOWED my car back to their garage for their warranty service. United honors the Manufacturer's warranty, in this case = O'Reilly's (where they bought part from). The Manufacturer's warranty states they'll replace the part or refund at their discretion - and only to the entity that purchased it (i.e., United). United's Invoice also states warranty repairs have to be made at their garage. However, if United is only honoring the Manufacturer's warranty, then they would've put another BAD AFTERMARKET FUEL PUMP back into my car since that's all O'Reilly has. Having another bad part put in my car, and endangering my life again on the highway, was NOT an option. United will be made whole by O'Reilly for the part cost, PLUS, get to keep my entire $1614.54 that I paid, including labor markup. This is 100% GREED and an absolute lack of fairness and ethics.
