I found this store to be very expensive compared to others available in the town. Customer service provided by Jim was way below average

I have one of the most expensive vehicle windshields made on my 2017 Toyota Highlander, and prefer to avoid replacing the entire windshield. When dealing with this type of windshield damage, it's important you find a specialist like this who can prevent any initial crack from spreading. This independently owned shop came to my aid quickly, right after I dropped off my kids at school. The owner repaired both cracks in 45 minutes after I had informed Geico of the situation. My insurance covered the repair as a no fault claim, and the owner couldn't have been more friendly and professional. I talked about the relationship with my kids after a divorce he had experienced in life too. It was nice to get some advice on child-rearing in addition to the speedy repair. Shops like this that specialize in a certain type of vehicle repair are coveted businesses for any customer. You want to avoid large companies like Safelite AutoGlass for vehicle based glass repairs, and stick with independently owned businesses like this instead. Larger chain businesses will try and upsell you on products you don't need such as windshield wipers. Their work quality doesn't compare to that of an independently owned business either. Next time I need any repairs like this in the San Mateo area, I'll know who to go to. Wonderful experience all the way around!

They were able to get the windshield installed and the sensors recalibrated in about 2 hours or so. There's a waiting room available as well as a loaner car if you don't feel like waiting. Would definitely come back for future glass replacements

Avoid Safelite in San Mateo (S. Claremont St). * Drop-off:…read morevery early in line with a morning appointment; told it would be completed by the afternoon. * Communication: Zero updates, and impossible to reach a human by phone. * Outcome: Showed up at 4:45 PM, as the store closes at 5:00 PM, to find they had barely started. * Service: The manager made excuses and rudely suggested I could just take my unfinished car. Finally received my car at 6:30 PM. Zero communication, terrible management, and complete disrespect for customers' time. Ask your insurance for a different shop!

Worst service. Do not trust this company with your vehicle. I made an appointment for a home visit…read more They confirmed my appointment days before. All seemed good. The day before my visit, I get a text with instructions. They were supposed to arrive Saturday between 8am-12pm. I received 2 missed calls Saturday morning that rang once. By the I tried to answer they hung up. I called right back like 10 times and no one pick up or returned my call. I called the San Mateo location and couldn't get to talk to someone because they kept hanging up the phone. Needless to say, it was probably for the best because I'd rather have it done properly. I found an amazing alternative in Burlingame. The company is called New Auto Glass on Rollin Rd. This family owned business took me in an hour, got it done so quickly and correctly, and the prices were so much lower than Safelite. They are very honest and fair. If you need a repair or replacement, don't go with these fools. They will overcharge and probably not show up. They kept trying to have me pay prior to installation, but I insisted to wait until completion. There terrible reviews say a lot. It's all if their locations in this area that do a terrible job.
