I explained to them that I need to fix the chip so I don't have to go through a claim process with my credit card, because who wants to really go through claim processes? Nobody. He said no problem we can get this fixed for you in the morning before you return it. He came at 7am and sent me before and after photos. The "after photo" he texted me appeared as if there was no more visible chip so I figured mission accomplished. When I got in the car I was shocked. This was not fixed at all and actually looked worse than before because of the drilling he did. (Photos attached) So now I'm going through the claim process that I was trying to avoid and out hard earned dollars that they refused to refund.

He can not install windshield, it must be brought to safelite shop for a while day +. My car is in my garage being restored and cannot be drove to Safelite shop. Hence the reason I scheduled more than a week in advance. That tells me Safelite will schedule any job charge you and the realize they are unable to perform installation. Then refund payment few days later. Messed up way to run a business

I did not expect a warranty repair after that long, but at least stand by your ads and repair it. Gave me a song and dance about glues not matching that years glue? Huh? remove all the old adhesive, and reglue. I asked to have a tech look at it. Sales person up front said $800 or go to a Mom and Pop shop. I love both my mom, and pop. I trusted them to care for me, and my well being, to love me. So I left and drove about two miles from them to Auto Glass Xperts. Mom greeted me at the door with a huge smile. Quickly had a couple of Xperts look at my glass and give me the lowdown. Yes, they can Repair, yes they can replace. Both services together less than the one option at Safelite. I had it repaired so I could go on a trip. I am back, and now I just had the new glass installed. Both still cost less than SL. The nerve of them to use the term "Mom and Pop", in such a derogatory fashion and think customers that choose smaller shops might not get the best service over theirs. AGX proved to be the Mom and Pop we all need. No catchy jingle, just savings that fold neatly in your wallet. You are paying for glass and labor, not commercials the other guys don't stand by anyway. He was very professional, courteous, and detailed oriented.
