It would have been nice if they had some tables for folks who brought laptops to do work while waiting for the patient they were with. There were a couple of us who were balancing our computers on our laps. The chairs provided were not designed for long term sitting, they need a little more cushioning to be comfortable. It was a nice touch that they did have family friendly movies playing to entertain you while you waited for your friend/family member. The staff members that I dealt with were rather cold. There was no warmth or personality while communicating with them. Also, there were no employees of color. My friend even said the same thing when I was taking her home. She said, everyone who took care of her in the back medical area was white. In this day and age, that makes me uncomfortable.

My VOICEMAIL notification of that was on Wednesday (appointment on Thursday). Yes, they called on Monday, but what does that matter if I don't answer and you don't leave me a voicemail? I saw the same Pediatric Physician my whole life, then switched to Family Medicine where I was another 9 years, so I've been anxious to find someone new in St. Louis where I recently moved. I'll tell you what, Claire didn't disappoint. And to be honest, I think I like her better than my Pediatrician AND first adult physician combined. She was warm and inviting, listened to everything I had to say, had great advice, and was super knowledgeable. She's also trained on Pap smears, so for the women out there, check her out, she's a one stop shop. She would be an amazing provider for anyone. I could go on forever about how amazing she is, but you're just going to have to check her out yourself. Since SLUCare is associated with St. Louis University School of Medicine, the doctor you see consults with fellow professors, and instructs and mentors students. I think there's a lot of competency and accountability built into a connected system like this, and that makes me more confident about the quality of care I'm receiving. Of course, sometimes it means that an extra doctor or medical student is sitting in on your exam. This may not feel so wonderful if you're shy. In my case, when a couple of young doctors peel back my privacy gown to check me out, it just means I have more material to weave into the tall tale I tell my wife. During last week's visit, I started out with obligatory stops at stations for insurance-billing, registration, and nurse medical history review. Then, since my last dermatologist recently moved out-of-area, I was introduced to Dr. Tarbox, whose manner was just about the best I've ever experienced in a physician. She immediately made me feel comfortable, really listened to me, did the full-body skin check, explained thoroughly what she was seeing, went away while the nurse pricked the needles in to numb me up, then carried on a pleasant conversation while she sliced and bandaged my face and neck. The closest walk in is now about `10 miles south. While they will try and accommodate you if you have a need to get into see the doctor on the same day it may not happen. My primary care doctor works for this office and he is one of 6 doctors who use this office. My doctors name is Dr. Hamm and he is the nicest doctor I have ever met. I do not get the awful feeling when the door opens and in walks Dr. Hamm. He is a total gentleman and a very gentle person. Somehow i made it. So I proceeded to tell dr, how bad it was, blacking out from pain and he said, " I DONT HARDLY BELIEVE IT". Calling me a liar essentially. or saying lets find out why. His face totally dead pan. So our 10 min were up. Said hed give me a shot. About 10 people waiting for shots in shot area. After another hour i told nurse i was leaving. She said wait a little linger. So i did. But my pain had increased by at least 10. I couldnt take anymore so i walked out. This office over booked by 100%. Others in waiting room talking an unhappy. His bedside manner horrible an cynical. Pain management has to be hard. But they signed up for it. So if they cant take heat they should get out of kitchen. Also i get a bill for $33 plus. No name of what dr. Not their address. No full listing of what it was for. How am i supposed to know when its months later after sending thru medicare. $400 for a office visit that i went thru a terrible day for nothing. When i called billing to discuss my problem they said it wasnt their dept, contact office. Contacted office explained all this I wrote. They said not their dept contact billing. Just who or what, whos job is what, is the question. We are supposed to pay, pay, pay on time when its bad, bad, bad work. Im reporting to medicare. This is why we are paying so much an why most cant afford. Do not go here. The best dr i had for 14 yrs retired. I cried because i knew this is what would happen. They have a number for after hrs exchange but that is answered by numbskulls who don't get your message to the doctor. And let's just say the person texting me back was not a communication expert !!!! Supposedly their phone system " has been down for over a month " wtaf???
