I came across this business on Groupon and she has positive reviews so I decided to give it a try. I reached out via text and secured an appointment for Friday morning at 9am. I received a text 30 minutes before my appointment saying she was running 10-15 minutes late. Because I planned my schedule and entire morning around this appointment I wanted to be sure it would only be 10-15 minutes so I sent a text. I was also already in my car because I wanted to be on time so I called her. I said I wanted to verify that it would only be a 15 min delay. She said she couldn't hear me (or there was some poor service) I repeated myself and she jumped to let's just reschedule. I didn't want to reschedule as I waited a week for the appointment. She then told me I can already tell you're not in the mood, I'm human, I'm having a rough morning and I'm going to cancel your appointment. Now let's see can people run late ? Absolutely but I don't see a problem with me confirming that it will not exceed my availability and potentially throw off my schedule. This was a poor first impression and very unfortunate because I was hopeful due to other reviews, location and variety in services. Additionally she has a strict cancellation policy.

She's supposed to arrive at 11am so I can be done at noon to get to the shoot by 12:30pm. I've taken the day off work for this and she has the nerve to e-mail me (not even phone) that she's running late with another client and can't make it by 11am. I try calling her to find out just how late she'll be but she doesn't pick up. I respond to her e-mail and don't get a reply until 11:15am and she says she won't be done with her current client until noon and "can't the photographer just push back a bit?". ZERO apology and ZERO regret expressed in all of this. Of course my photographer can't adjust her schedule for Marie's unprofessionalism and I have to cancel it, so here I am losing 8 hours of work leave with no make-up and no headshots to show for it. And how dare Marie even suggest that my time and my photographer's time is so flexible? Typical tone-deaf DC-style customer service, I am so sick of it.

Unfortunately, my flight was delayed by 3 hours due to weather, so I wouldn't be able to keep my original appt time, and I was worried I wouldn't even have time to get my makeup done at all because I was already going to be late to the event. Diti was so understanding when I texted her about my delayed flight and she was so kind to move her schedule around to accommodate my later arrival time. When I arrived at my hotel, she was there waiting for me and ready to get right to work. Diti did an excellent job on my makeup. My skin is kind of a challenge for makeup sometimes because I get breakouts, and have dehydrated skin that also easily gets very oily with makeup. Ive had my makeup done countless times for photoshoots and events, and although it will look okay right after it's done, it *always* looks greasy after one hour. This is the first time that my makeup stayed flawless for the whole evening. I didn't even have to blot any oil with blotting sheets. Diti did a really beautiful job covering my skin imperfections without it looking cakey. She gave me a really pretty bronze eye that looked amazing with my tan. She also added the perfect amount of darker color to sculpt and give dimension to my face without it looking obvious. There are many makeup artists who can put together a nice look, but Diti truly is an artist. Beyond the makeup, she was so sweet dealing with me when I was a nervous wreak about my flight being delayed and rushing to get ready. She completely calmed me down and gave me a beautiful makeup look when we were cramped for time. She was really easy to talk to and gave me a few bits of advice for some of my makeup concerns. When they say transportation, they never lied a car was sent for me and was sent at the stated time. Have you ever gone to a salon and the stylist wasn't there....not the case my stylist Lillie was there and ready to start. Lillie was very pleasant and polite. We started EXACTLY 10 am. The picture that I showed Lillie nailed it and was fast. My only grip it was a little chilly in the shop but they did have a heater. No biggie for the service that was provided. I WILL BE BACK!!!!
