I informed him it was my first time doing a full closure and he wasn't helpful at all in picking the hair ( only to find out when I was there from Marilyn that they could have ordered what I needed for me at the shop) then I get there and he is asking and getting help doing my hair. I told him it was for a special event . So if you didn't know what you were doing say it up front. It ended up coming out awful and wiggy looking. They put the entire stocking cap with the thick ends on my head did not even cut the ends or try to put make up around the corners to blend so the edges show the cap. Then he didn't even pick the part nor try and lay baby hair around the edges.He also told me my hair didn't hold curls which was his excuse to not put any effort to style it. I was then over charged for this mess as I had to pay like $200 for what ever he attempted in my hair and a separate extra $50 for braids as he has someone else in the shop do them smh. I had to go to another salon to try and fix the mess as I told you I had a special event to attend. She saw the mess he did and was like what the heck is that mess. She was able to adjust the front, fix the edges, pick the part and she did curls which held perfectly. As other reviews mentioned there was an alcohol stench but not sure if it's from being hungover or maybe the cologne he uses smell that way. I'd hate to say there is a alcohol issue here. I definitely will not be returning.

David listens to what you want and will make recommendations based on his expertise in styling. I've never left his salon unhappy, and I always feel more beautiful than when I arrived. After agreeing to squeeze me into my scheduled appointment that she overlooked or wasn't aware of (scheduled for 12pm, sat at 12:25) and letting the shampoo girl start my blow dry, she launched a series of attacks against my hair in its natural state, remarking on its poor condition. When she told me that I needed a trim, I told her that I wouldn't be getting one at this appointment because I was still looking for a new salon. And one thing that I've learned over the years is that not everyone can cut or trim hair and after rereading negative reviews about her scissor happiness, I'm even more glad that I passed. By the end of my time in the chair she claimed that my hair hadn't been trimmed in 2-3 years despite getting regular trims every 3 months and in between protective/natural styles over the past 7 years. When I showed a reference picture of my hair blow dried she insisted that they would need to flat iron my hair to get it that straight and went on to say how I "clearly think I'm a hairdresser." Each comment about the dryness of my hair and deadness of my ends wasn't isolated or even paired with her approach to repair but was simply sandwiched with insult. By the end of the appointment, she ran the blow dryer through my hair in large sections, offered nothing to hydrate my hair despite going on about its dry state (no oils, sprays, lotions, creams, etc.), and did not charge me for the appointment. For everything that she said I asked if she had recommendations for how to go about caring for it (because I'm always open to new tips), and she offered nothing beyond just finding a place that can care for it and a flippant remark that she "doesn't know how I wear my hair." (That's typically a question asked at the beginning of appointments or at least through styling to identify problem areas, concerns with maintenance, etc.) Hair is too personal to have it be used as ammo by the same people self-proclaimed to be hair care professionals. I'm sure it's a great place for some women but I found it to be the absolute worst salon experience I've ever had
