She took my patchy, overgrown and brassy hair and turned it beautiful and was so easy to schedule with when it came time for a tone. Looked up the Gladiola Salon website called and an automated message system told me to send a text message to the phone number To make an appointment for a haircut. Very unusual. I found out "the owner does not like to talk to potential costumers on the phone. Who has time for that ?! So I texted my request. The owners answer "OK" . I replied "OK ? could you please pass on a day and time? I waited 2 days for an answer. Yesterday a very strange message was send to me with a very inappropriate "dirty" tone. I was very startled about it. I called the Salon again and left a message on the system about what just happened to me. I expressed my concern, that maybe somebody is miss using the Gladiola Salon phone number and message system. I ask to please give me a call back. Unfortunately that did not happen. But I got a text message this morning saying there will be no appointments for a haircut available before Fall. No Hello, no answer to my concerned phone call and no name from the sender. UNBELIEVABLE Fortunately Penn Yan has a variety of good hair salons and when you call they actually pick up the phone to talk to their customers to make an appointment. read more

I gave it a try. I even gave her the benefit of the doubt and went back again. The owner/ hairdresser is young, rude and has very poor social skills. She acts like she doesn't want to be there and is very difficult to make conversation with. I went to another cosmetologist who said she completely messed up my cut. Then I had to reschedule today due to a coworker calling in and having to cover, and she wanted to charge me $50 to reschedule!! Are you serious?! This is Penn Yan. If I wanted to deal with an oppositional, egocentric, teenager with an attitude, I would stay at work and never get my hair done. Let alone pay $200 to do a bad job. Never going back!
