Dr Parson was incredibly genuine, transparent about my concerns and the time he took to address all of my questions speaks volumes about his passion for companion animals. He is very knowledgeable about the subjects I inquired and he took time to give me detailed one on one attention. More so than any vet I've called. My only regret is that he's too far to transition my fur babies to his practice. If you are looking for a vet who really cares and takes time for you with such compassion and informative perspectives look no further. Kudos!

Couple of weeks ago I had to board my babies and they were required to have their influenza. No choice was given that I had to pay for the booster shot the same day they got the influenza shot. I was specifically told that I would come in and the technician will give the booster shot and no other exam was necessary. I just left the location and they wanted to charge me a technician fee (check vitals). I was lied to and they lied to the right one today. The young girl at the checkout gonna tell me that it was a misunderstanding, well it could've been but not on my end. It's time for me to make the change.

I've taken Ruger to several vet visits over the years, and today was the first time I've ever heard him cry during a blood draw. If getting blood drawn hurts when someone is digging around trying to find a vein on a person, what makes anyone think it doesn't hurt a dog? Watching the needle being moved around while trying to find a vein was hard to watch, and it honestly made me question the technique that was being used. Worst of all, there wasn't even an apology or any comfort given to my dog from her part. The veterinarian, Jenny Ponce Hernandez, also didn't introduce herself when she walked in. I actually had to ask who she was. She didn't come across as confident, and that didn't give me much reassurance while my dog was being treated. She also recommended that I spay my German Shepherd before her first heat cycle. I understand vets can have different opinions, but every other veterinarian I've spoken with has recommended waiting until after her first heat so she can fully develop. That recommendation, along with the rest of my experience, just didn't leave me feeling confident. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. I came in expecting a simple, routine visit, but I left feeling disappointed and uncomfortable with the care my dog received.

By the time I arrived at Atascocita Animal Hospital, it was about 20 minutes before they officially opened. The door happened to be unlocked, so I went in, explained the situation, and asked if there was any chance they could help. Even though they're appointment-only, they kindly told me they would see if they could squeeze us in and they did!!! I am incredibly grateful they made the time for us. From the moment I walked in, everyone was so kind. The woman at the front desk was genuinely warm and compassionate. I was under a lot of stress, and I really appreciated how calm and soft-spoken the entire staff was. The technician and the veterinarian were both very gentle with Zen, and you could tell they truly cared about making him as comfortable as possible. We're still waiting on some of his test results, but they gave him fluids and took the time to evaluate him thoroughly. That gave me some peace of mind during a difficult day. The only downside for me was the cost. I do feel the visit was on the procier side, so if you're on a tight budget, that's something to keep in mind. However, the level of compassion, professionalism, and care we received made for a very positive experience overall. This past weekend, I took one of our cats, Alice, up to Lake Parkway. She was suffering some allergy type symptoms, and I didn't want her to have to wait until Monday to be seen. Luckily, the staff was able to fit us in - even with their busy day! Alice was seen by Dr. Jim McComas, a veterinarian I had never met before, but liked instantly. He was friendly and attentive to Alice's symptoms, as was the entire staff who came to help during the course of her visit. I was given some eyedrops for Alice's runny allergy eyes and instructions to treat her wheezing with some Children's Benadryl because Dr. McComas didn't like the possible side effects from any of the medicines he could prescribe to her. About forty-five minutes later, Alice and I were on our way home. I really can't thank the staff of Lake Parkway enough for everything they have done for our animals, both recently and over the course of the years. Annabelle departed this life and we were treated with the utmost of care and comfort anyone could imagine. Now, we have one-year-old Emma. Emma began her care at The Zoo for her first examination as soon as she arrived at our home. She is cared for with the same loving care. Never have I had a negative experience at Atascazoo. I don't live near the ACC; in fact, I live in downtown Houston. But I shopped around and the price for the initial, "new patient" visit was $55 at the ACC, including shots and feline HIV, compared to $175 at the River Oaks Animal Clinic and Cat Vet Clinic. I didn't even think twice about making the drive to Huffman to save $120. Located near 1960 and FM 2100, the Animal Care Center is exactly what you want in a vet -- caring and plentiful staff, a clean facility, plenty of customers (usually meaning they're really good), and, a vet who takes time to get to know you and your pet. We had to wait longer than I would have liked once they got us into the exam room (about 25 minutes), but the care the vet gave to my cat totally made up for it. I even got a post-visit call to check on Abby and to ensure we'd had a good visit. Who does that?! I'll tell you who -- the Animal Care Center of Lake Houston. Go there -- today!

From the start, the front staff were super kind to our lil pup for his puppy shots; he had positive experiences every time! For boarding, Chief was happy and well taken care of as he recuperated from his neutering while we were on vacation; Jasmine was so kind and even sent us a video of our pup playing in the unexpected snow in Jan 2025. We were sad to miss his first experience with snow, and thrilled to see him love the cold, white fun. Then, Dr. Kendra Delaney and the whole staff were instrumental in working with our Pet Relocation team for our international move, and promptly responded to all the timely details. Chief boarded for about a week until he flew out to meet us abroad. The staff all took amazing care of him, and our extra thank yous to Jasmine, our puppy's favorite vet tech, who noticed he was getting anxious; she promptly alerted the vet team who approached us with suggestions. We sincerely appreciate them all going the extra mile, every time.

I agreed, thinking it was a basic service, but no price was mentioned beforehand. When I received my bill, it came out to $337. I was shocked to see they charged $50 just to clean his ears without informing me of the cost before doing it. While the staff has always been polite, the pricing and lack of transparency are very disappointing. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I will not be returning. I have to agree with other reviews that the pricing here feels like a rip off.
