My home was newer so I was able to find the exact tile as in the dining/living room. Step Up Home Improvements had great reviews, were very prompt in responding, and gave me a reasonable price so I chose them to install my tiles. Pierre Grand was the representative from the company that was my contact for the job. I assumed he would be installing the tile or at least supervising but he was nowhere to be found when the workers came to install the tile. The workers did not speak English so there were multiple issues with not being on the same page. My mistake was assuming the workers would know I wanted the grout lines lined up straight. My wife and I had to continually ask the worker to line up the grout lines evenly and the worker would get noticeably upset. At one point, I was not home and my wife asked him to correct it but he said in broken english "Don't worry, no one will notice it". Since I am conversational in spanish, I rushed home early from work and had him correct it. The above is the main issue I had with the workers/company. They pay very little attention to detail and just try to get the job done and get out. I expressed my concerns to Pierre and he offered me $200 but never received the money. I would NOT recommend this company.

The addition is perfect and everyone who visits remarks on how beautiful it is. We have to say owner Steve, and his crew, takes pride in the quality and craftsmanship of the work including any work done by subcontractors. If a subcontractor did something not up to par, the owner or his crew would point it out and make sure the work was redone correctly or fix it themself. My mother-in-law changed her mind about a few things halfway through the build. Not only did they make the changes, but they also went out of their way to make sure she was happy every step of the project. We highly recommend Property Services GC and plan to use them when we build a new house in the future.

After talking with a couple other companies, I talked with Steve Weiss, co-owner of Southern Aluminum, which annually installs about 250 screen enclosures around Tampa Bay. Steve was great to talk with, obviously has much expertise, and gave us a fair and competitive quote. Going with Steve was a no-brainer. We were in the process of building a new home, so from when I first talked with Steve to when we were finally ready to build our screen enclosure was a fairly long time. Steve and I kept in good touch by phone, text and email, so communications was very good, along with the plan he put together. When we were ready to build our large screen enclosure, Steve sent a two-man crew, Big John and Steve, with nearly 60 years of experience. It was remarkable to see how well the two professionals worked together, which included custom building the enclosure on site. They arrived early, worked hard and returned at same time every day for a week, and I could tell they take much pride in the quality of their work. Something that makes Walsh standout compared to other companies that came to give an estimate is that they work with many different brands of shingles and they recommend which ones work best for you and your environmental situation. We chose Majestic Shake by Pinnacle Pristine. The colors worked perfectly with our home and the stone accents. The job itself was completed in 2 days. They used a dump truck on wheels so we had no damage to our driveway. Clean up was done very well, minus the fact that the crew forgot to tarp our pool and we had some cleaning up to do in the pool. Derek, who came for final clean up and to collect payment, was very apologetic when I mentioned the issue with the pool and provided a reasonable solution. I requested quotes for painting my house, and Israel Gonzalez, the owner, visited my property to assess the work. After walking him through the house, I received a written estimate of $3,520. Based on this, I decided to move forward and accepted the quote. A few days later, before the work started, he and his crew came again to review the jobsite. At that point, he began saying the ceiling would need extra coats and that a bathroom he had already seen was not included in the original estimate. This was concerning because the quote clearly covered 2,600 sq ft--more than the actual 2,500 sq ft that needed painting (since I excluded a recently remodeled bathroom). Despite this, I was still prepared to move forward, as I had already started packing and moving furniture, I was expecting around $200 extra. However, less than 16 hours before the scheduled start (On a Sunday afternoon), I received a text increasing the total cost to $4,520--over $1,000 more than the original written estimate. This last-minute change was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. In my opinion, this behavior raises serious concerns about transparency and ethics. A contractor should stand by their written estimate, especially after personally inspecting the property. Sudden price increases at the last moment can create unnecessary stress and leave customers feeling taken advantage of. I'm sharing this review as a caution for others to carefully review estimates, request detailed breakdowns, and ensure everything is documented before moving forward. This kind of practice could easily create hardship for elderly or vulnerable clients. I recommend doing thorough due diligence before considering this company.

We are extremely happy with I.Go. renovations they tiled our kitchen 1 1/2 bathrooms and painted the 2 bedroom condo in less time than contracted for which was great for my mom who's a snowbird and really wanted to get back in as soon as possible. Five Star Posted Just a horrible experience. Please look at…read morethe 1 and 2 star reviews. The vast majority of those other experiences align VERY closely with mine. Read those reviews before you decide on Five Star. I wish I had. On to the horror story... I wanted both powered fans (I already owned these) and also ridge vent in case of a power outage. They installed the fans but no ridge vent. They also didn't refund me or my insurance when they hauled off all that unused ridge vent. The fans aren't even installed properly because they're partially covered by plywood and 2x4s. Why would they even install it there? See picture. They pounded the drip edge on so hard that it dented the fascia and left a black spot. They left tire marks in my driveway and nails that I'm still picking up 3 months later. They screwed up my kitchen lights by dropping stuff into my attic and damaging the cans. See picture. On about May 7 (only a couple days after installation), I called to tell Robert about these issues and he said he'd have it fixed. He didn't. On May 17, I texted Robert for a wind mitigation recommendation AND I thought it would jog his memory about the driveway and drip edge. No response. Five Star called demanding payment and I said the job wasn't done. She told me she'd get someone on it. She didn't. Time passed and some snotty rude manager named Justin Ely called demanding payment a week or so later. I said the job wasn't done. He must have contacted Robert for details because a FULL MONTH LATER, Robert finally responded to that May 17 text on June 18. We'll get there soon. After listening to Justinand his condescending nonsense, I wanted to be done with these people and their incompetence, poor communication, awful follow-up, horrendous accounting, greedy attitude, the damage, and simple misunderstandings being blown completely out of proportion. To avoid Justin, I told Robert in the attached text that I was very unhappy and offered to handle everything myself if he'd just take off $1500 from this $30,000 insurance job that was obviously inflated. I have 3 out of pocket quotes that range from $16-$24k. This message was sent at about noon. Robert didn't respond at all. I called the next morning at about 10AM. No answer. 8 or 9 hours later, he had still not responded and I called the office. When Robert finally called back, he informed me that they double charged me for permits and extra decking. So they're demanding payment with snotty Justin and they don't even have their numbers right. Robert said he shared my text and then got Justin in on a 3 way call. I told Justin I was disgusted with all of this and mentioned the $1500 to just be done, give a good review, and I'd pay immediately. He got all upset, accused me of extortion, and threatened to sue me if I withheld payment. Justin told me his only goal is to make money. He asked if I ever give up any of my commissions and laughed when I said it's only happened twice in 25 years, but I will absolutely do right by my client even if it costs me money. Customer satisfaction is so much more important than mine. He then told me he'd also sue me if I told my neighbor about this. My neighbor signed up for a $30K roof on my recommendation. Seems like a good reason to try to make a me happy! On top of that, I'm also a Realtor who gets asked for contractor recommendations VERY routinely. If my roofer hadn't retired, I wouldn't have been calling Five Star. Now, I just remind the other 397 Realtors at my office that they should not be recommending or using Five Star. In the end, I got excuses and a $100 wind mitigation report out of them. They got a bunch of free material for another job. And I had to repair my own drip edge, fascia, lights, fans, and driveway. I'm so glad to be done with Justin's rollercoaster of incompetence and foul language. Until Justin got involved (after the text I posted), it was completely salvageable and polite. He's the problem.
