Pro Camera is a bit of an unconventional camera/photo store because it's really a small retail…read morestorefront, behind which the main business is focused on camera repair. In the retail part you can buy a small to medium selection of film/digital cameras and supplies, but it's not the place to go for rack after rack of all the latest brands and models. They do have current offerings from a selection of digital brands for which they are dealers, but it's not huge. For film photographers like myself, again, they have a decent selection of film in various formats, but it's not as extensive as you'll find in larger stores. I try to buy my film from them when I can, because their pricing is the same as I can get anywhere and I want to support the small businesses that film photography absolutely depends on. The biggest threat to film photography's survival is the giant online retailers. Beyond the somewhat limited modern digital camera/lens selection, Pro Camera is one of the very few places you can buy expertly serviced film-era equipment or get your own properly serviced. I see on some of the other reviews people are complaining about pricing; well, in this area, you truly do get what you pay for. If you want a cheap film camera, go ahead and eBay it, but if you want a camera that will work properly and perform to factory specification for any length of time, the equipment at Pro Camera is a very smart investment. All the film cameras on their shelves in-store are expertly serviced, tested with very specialized instruments, and film-tested. In most film camera stores, little has been done other than a wipe-down and wind-and-click testing. Rarely does any store do professional testing with dedicated instrumentation; film-testing is pretty much unheard-of. Pro Camera is exceptional in this regard. By the way, the selection on their website is much smaller than in-store. I don't know why; I think it would be smart of them to offer all their gear for online purchase, but that's just me. The team behind the scenes at Pro Camera are world-class at servicing film cameras; it is rapidly becoming harder to find anyone even somewhat competent at this, and that makes it all the more extraordinary that they are playing a long-game and actually investing in expanding the number of technicians they have. I do camera repair myself and, as most camera repair technicians have done, I have sent my own equipment to a variety of others for repair. There's literally no one better than Pro Camera. And this brings me to my next point, the wait to get a camera serviced can be very long. That is a testament to how highly regarded Pro Camera's repair service is, among those who know the industry. So be prepared to pay what it's worth, and wait for it to take the time it's going to take, but getting it done right is worth it.

If you take a camera there to sell, all of the sudden that camera (no matter what it is) is trash. He'll try to mention better cameras than yours and how yours was really bad back in the days (it had issues, people didn't like it, etc). I had two Leicas and he dared saying he could pick them up anytime for what he said, a third of the cheapest current market value. He mentioned a lot of nonsense that pointed in the opposite direction of all reviews and blogs out there. I suppose he knows best than anybody else. Bottom line, find another place ;)

The man that answered the phonetold me to come in to see what was available. When I got there the guy looked at me like I had two heads on my shoulders. I told him what type of camera that I had. He told me that there is nothing out there like that and "I got what I paid for" Needless to say I am getting the non existent adapter from an online company. The man that owns this shop did not have any customer service skills and was nasty when I told him that I was not going to buy a $1000 + camera from him. I will never by anything from this shop. I guess I am not the type of person that he wanted to deal with and even if I would be in the market to buy DSLR or other similar type camera I would not buy from here due from the way the owner acted. I now have a DSLR that I would never take there. I think that if you are not willing to buy an out of date, over price camera from this guy he tells you everything that you "can't get " is going to distort your photos. I would not tell anyone to go there for anything because of the way the owner treated me.

Disappointed that only approx 10% of the pix actually turned out. The photo development expert I took them to had a frown on his face when I came to pick up the photos: "Where'd you get these cameras? The film is shoddy. See? ... [He pointed to evidence of bad film -- not just low quality -- but b-a-d.] As much as you may want fun cameras at your event, that's all you're getting: a "fun-looking" little novelty that looks cute on a table and that your guests may have fun with. However, don't count on your pix turning out. ALL the pix taken were in sunlight. Not inside photos. No night photos. No low-light photos. With 400 film, the photos should've all come out great. Not so. Was it mere coincidence that only 10% of photos from over 12 cameras failed to turn out? Was it just one or two bad cartridges of film? No.... Every camera had faulty film, according to my photo developing guy. Very disappointed. Wish I'd checked Yelp before I spend approx $100 on the cameras. :(
