I would've given Giovanni's 2-stars but this is our 2nd time eating there today. Last time a few years ago it was very dark, hot and stuffy and to add my husband ended up with a very bad stomach-he claims was a bad mussel in his dish. Today we ate there again, only after realizing after we sat down that it was the same place we had eaten before years ago. We decided to stay and give it a 2nd chance. Maybe it was an once off meal we had previously. To start our waitresses were not the friendliest or attentative immediately from the start. The appetizers came: bruschetta and caesar salad and they were both pretty nice. But our entrees came and gambertti pesto with shrimp and prawns was not fresh and the shrimp looked translucent which means under-cooked. I put them aside not wanting to complain after trying one bite and finding it did not have flavor nor the cooked texture it should feel when fully cooked. My husband meatballs spaghetti was nothing worth mentioning-again not freshly made. The children had the lasagna which was probably the best main course of all our dishes. So to sum up the meal our waitresses demeanor did not improve throughout the rest of our meal and again the restaurant was dark, hot and stuffy to the point that 2 of 4 of us had to take a breather and go outside for some fresh air.....! To end it all my stomach was not the best after a couple hours later-so suspected after our previous meal there a few years ago. Live and learn. If at once you do not succeed, maybe not worth trying the 2nd time!!! read more
