Good food to go. Not really a great sit down restaurant. The prices are good. The mini corndogs were a little overcooked.

As I get older, I try to love myself a little more, so each year I treat myself to something a little extra special. This year, that was Carmelo's. Honoring his Bisnonno, Carmelo Caserta, Chef Billy Grise & his longtime friend, Chef Mitch Arens, opened this slice of Sicily in 2024. They make you feel at home with a warm intimate atmosphere, top tier service & food so good you're sure to come back time & time again. My Server, Deron, was so friendly & helpful. His professionalism & expertise shined all throughout the evening! After explaining the full menu to & carefully selecting a signature cocktail for me, Carmie's Kiss, I selected the hand pulled Mozzarella served with Grilled Focaccia & Olive Oil, the savory & spicy Garlic Soup, the cheesy crispy Potatoes served with a Calabrian Chili Mayo, and the hearty indulgent Oxtail Ragu. Each bite I took whisked me away to another world filled with enticing scents, beautiful colors & bold flavors! Then, when I thought I was finished, Deron surprised me with a delicious slice of Tiramisu served with a delightful glass of Pinot Grigio, and it was absolutely heavenly!! I had such a lovely experience & I am so excited to go back again. My favorite bites were the deliciously perfect Potatoes & Oxtail Ragu! Whether you're celebrating a special day, going on a date night, or treating yourself, this is the perfect place to step away from your worries & celebrate life. Truly a 10/10 experience!! 434 Madison Ave, Covington, KY 41011 https://www.eatatcarmelos.com/ Instagram & TikTok: @biteswithmissb

We did our research and took most of the recommendations of our fantastic server Harris. The Cauliflower flabbered my gasts it was so amazing. The crispness of the cauliflower, the bright spark of the lemon aoli, and the warmth of the toasted almond slivers come together in perfect bites all around. The Garlic Soup had five forms of garlic and transports you to a sixth dimension. Needs to be corrected in the menu description as it DOES NOT share well and if you love your table mates you will get individual portions. The Crispy Garlic Alfredo was so decadent and delightful. Definitely not for the faint of heart but a mound of pasta worth dying for IMO. The Tomahawk Pork was unfortunately our last dish and didn't get appreciated as it deserved due to logistics/stomach space. But it was perfectly crisped and ooeygooey on top with a vodka sauce with a kick. PS: we thought the experience was classy from the start but the labeling of the leftovers sealed the deal. Name and date, just their process not a special request from us. Cute since the Alfredo didn't last 24 hours.

My husband and I went to dinner for our 10 year anniversary after a very difficult week for our family, and we were honestly too emotionally drained to make decisions. Our server, Jasmine, kindly took the reins and chose our meal for us -- which turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Every single dish she brought out was phenomenal. We started with the artichokes, arancini, and whipped ricotta -- each one better than the last. Then came the lemon pasta, spicy vodka pasta, shrimp, spaghetti and meatballs, and veal scallopini. Everything was absolutely delicious and clearly made with so much care. By the end we were so full we couldn't even attempt dessert. What made the evening truly special, though, was the kindness of the team. Levi, the GM, went so far out of his way to make us feel cared for and welcomed during a moment when we really needed it. The warmth and compassion we experienced there meant more than I can adequately put into words. Restaurants often talk about hospitality, but the team at Pepp & Dolores truly embodies it. Thanks for an evening we will never forget.

If that doesnt say how good it is then let me summarize it a little bit. The lobster feels Fresh, the bread its the perfect ratio for the BIG amount of lobster that they put on them, awesome flavors, great service and the price even though at first glance you may say its a little up there... LOOK AT THE PICS! They dont shy on the lobster meat, its well worth it. 'You wont finish the roll and stay with bread on the hand with no lobster, you may finish it and then use the fork for the lobster that fell on the plate' Highly recommend them!

My first experience was so good, I have been back several more times. Just a great family owned business. Lets talk about the Lobster roll. I am partial to the CT style, which is with butter. Their version was amazing. The roll was done just right. The lobster was high quality meaty chunks and there was plenty of it. It was cooked just right, tender and not rubbery! It comes with a side of Chips. My second try was the Meatball grinder. This was heaven. The meatballs and sauce are fantastic. Again, great bread too! Also comes with a side of chips. Now when I saw they had Hummel Hot Dogs, a New Haven CT Staple, I about lost it. They even had the correct bun, perfectly toasted. Its all about those little details! I enjoyed mine with kraut and cheese! Next up, the clam chowder... it had a nice smoky flavor to it. Finally, the baked Ziti and side of meatballs, which comes with Italian bread and butter. This sauce is "lick your plate clean" worthy. The pasta was al dente and again, these meatballs, omg. They still have several more items I need to try and ive seen some test menu items that are hopefully coming up that look so good! Okay so get the point? If you are craving some real seafood or Italian here in the Midwest, this is where you need to be! Follow them on their Facebook or on Streetfinder to see upcoming locations! Our server, Jackson, was very polite, not pushy and very attentive. He made some suggestions and left us to our own devices. We started with Drunkin Goat. So good, but get some extra bread...you'll need it. Next the salmon. Buttery, the capers and olive gave the polenta base a great flavor. Then.. THE CHOCOLATE DOME! Chatted briefly with our waitress about selection and then placed our food order. I ordered the Calabrian pizza, crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, soppressatta calabrese, roasted peppers, red onions and chili oil. My preference for crust is a little bit thicker but this had a really nice flavor to it. The toppings all were great. Quite pleased with my choice. My wife ordered the Bolognese pasta, rigatoni, tomato and beef ragu. Could not eat it all so ate it for lunch a couple of days later. Said it still tasted great! Can't remember what our friends ordered, but they were quite happy with their entrees. Dessert!! I had not found any really great gelati here in Cincinnati until now! The chocolate gelato was just,!!! Wow! Sooo good!! And two large scoops, too! Yummy!! My wife had the crème brûlée, said it was really good! We were celebrating one of our friends birthday, so they surprised us with a small sampler crème brûlée and a single scoop of gelato. The ladies had espresso martinis topped with toasted marshmallow. Nice finishing touch! So, really good service, excellent food, nice outside patio (in pleasant weather!) a great evening!! Definitely deserves you checking it out!! You'll like it!!

The food was GREAT, we started with the garlic cheese bread it was excellent crisp and uber cheesy. Tony's special was enjoyed by another diner. Not one negative was mentioned at the table. The ambiance or lack there of was not a real concern, the pictures and posters were interesting enough. If they could put the lights on dimmers it would certainly help. Food and service were excellent and the atmosphere, strip mall Italian modern hahaha. I definitely recommend and we will return... We wanted to come here because it's very close to our friend who joined us. We have been to Giovanni's many times and always enjoy it. They have stopped lunch service, which is a bummer because Giovanni's is much closer to us than Tony's. Oh... I don't know the family tree, but Giovanni's and Tony's are definitely related. Their menus are identical... well, almost. My favorite meal at Giovanni's is Giovanni's Special. At Tony's the same dish is known as Tony's Special. Anyway... I found the garlic knots more delicious at Tony's. The bread was tender and they had enough garlic butter on them it was easy to see. This same side at Giovanni's was always a 'throwaway', but at Tony's it was a star. I had to order the special, but I forgot to ask for penne rather than spaghetti. I wish the server has asked. When the meal arrived at the table I was a little disappointed, but even with spaghetti it was delicious. I don't know how they turn a tomato/eggplant mixture into an amazing sauce, but they do. Mark had the same thing and our friend had Fettuccine Carbonara and really enjoyed it. As always, there was enough for both lunch and take-home dinner. I hope Tony's stays around and that they continue with lunch hours. Even though it's a long drive, we always prefer going out for lunch over dinner and we'd be willing to make the drive.
