As we rode back from Lancaster county we decided to stop by this establishment. Since it was Saturday and a day after 4th of July it was kinda dead. My friend order a pizza and I the bourbon wings well done. Pizza was good, the wings well done as I requested, but I made a mistake by asking for the bourbon sauce. The sauce was tasteless and pretty watery, I most say this sauce does not go well with wings. As per the young bartender she was very friendly and attentive. Way overpriced for a mediocre (at best) joint. My family of 5 had dinner here the other night. The kids meals are in the $8 range. Not outrageous but what really annoyed me is that the menu says applesauce is available...no up charge mentioned on the menu or from our waitress. So my kids decided to get applesauce instead of fries (which the meals come with.) when we got the bill we were charged an additional $1.99 for each applesauce. And they didn't even serve the fries and add on applesauce. Nope. My kids were able to finish it in about 5 spoonfuls. Ridiculous. Also, no drink included. What kind of kids menu is that?! My eggplant parmigiana was just ok. The boneless wings were fatty and gross. And the booth we were seated in was disgusting and had sauce/food caked on the wall. I was recently in town visiting family and we came here to try the mushroom soup. I'm not a big mushroom fan, so I just tried a sip of my moms, but our table enjoyed it! We would've liked it a bit more if the mushrooms were cut in smaller pieces instead of the large slices. I got the Kennett Square Cheesesteak and it was really good! Tonight after having dinner (5 patrons) 4 of us are now experiencing food poisoning ie-vomitting. We are done after the last few visits here AND having been a loyal Giordano's patron when they opened decades ago next to Minnie's Bakery when everything you ordered was super delish! Was there on a Sunday afternoon, not many people in the restaurant & service was not the best. The waitress never checked on us throughout our dining experience. When she was taking our drink orders we mentioned we couldn't find the beverage section on the menu and she didn't even point it out or acknowledge it. Ordered their soup of the day which was cheddar & onion, the waitress failed to mention there was shrimp and crab in the soup. Also ordered a turkey reuben, on the menu it says it comes on sourdough bread and it came on butter soaked garlic bread. Won't be back again. I have been eating at this place since I could eat solid food and I love it. The tomato bread you get with Italian meals is to die for and their salads are really good too. The bar is great for watching sports and having small functions and all of their food is reasonably priced. I do wish you go back and forth from the restaurant to the sports bar easier that trudging down a hill, but I usually go there for one or the other and not both so it's not a problem. read more

I love this place, but the portions are a bit too big for the dinners. The breaded mushrooms are a good old tradition in Kennett!! The garlic bread was crunchy but soft. These are the positives but the portions can be too much depending on what you have. read more

Had a really good experience at Giordano's today. My lunch companion had ordered the fried green beans before I arrived. I had never been inclined to order these anywhere, but at Giordano's they are really good. Better than I expected. My friend's ham and beef (or was it bean?) soup was tasty. I enjoyed my fish and chips. Our server, Lonnie, was so helpful, accommodating and fun. What a lovely surprise all around for lunch today. read more

My wife and I went here after Longwood Gardens on the Sunday before Xmas so we figured there would be a wait, which there was. While waiting I checked on Yelp to read the reviews and it was a mixed bag. I was trying to be positive, but some of the reviews are spot on. The place is very dated as one reviewer noted . They have the cubed glass walls like you would see in an 80s renovated bathroom - too funny. After a pretty long wait we were seated and there must have been some confusion on what server we had because we sat for almost 10 minutes before someone came to get our initial drink order. We decided to order all at once because who knows when the server would return. Then my wife went to the bathroom and someone was getting sick - turned out it was our waitress!! Mystery solved there. Then our appetizer came, which was actually very good - the buffalo dip combo. The replacement server brought our main dishes and the food was so-so. I had the chicken cheese steak with mushrooms which was just okay. My wife had the ravioli with mushrooms, again just okay. Overall I would say the reviews average it out to a 3 star. I hope our waitress was okay and I truly hope she wasn't sick from eating the food here. read more

Upstairs bar, and separate dining areas that make up a huge restaurant. Staff is really friendly and responsive. The decor is nothing special, but the pizza is out of this world good. The rest of the entrees are good, but not spectacular. This is one of those great places to take the entire family and enjoy a great night out in a very inviting atmosphere. I came to Giordano's for the first time for a casual dinner with my boyfriend and his friend. Service was a bit slow on this day, but our waitress was very nice and the food came out nice and hot. I ordered a regular Chicken Cheesesteak and it was the best Chicken Cheesesteak I have had in years! When you come into Giordano's, it says that they were voted for the place with the best cheesesteaks in Kennett Square. I have to agree with that! Would I recommend this place? Yes! This reviews the family restaurant, not the bar. The food and service did not live up to the promise of the extensive menu. Pizza: underwhelming for this part of the country when so many do pizza so well. That pizza might fly in Phoenix but not the broader Philly area. Pork wrap--a no go. Don't tout a daily special unless it is good. The ravioli, meatballs and Italian soup were very good. I think the pasta sauce had green pepper flavor in it which some people do not like. Service was slow. Hockey game was on on 2 TVs so that was good, although I get tired of TVs being on everywhere I go 24 hours a day. It had been on CNN with little kids watching hostage takings while having dinner. All in all, not sure I'd go back, but if I did, I'd stick with pastas or maybe get a meatball sub. I've eaten here multiple times and the food has always been decent. Sometimes the cheesteaks are a little dry, but still delicious. Today I decided to get the kennett square cheesesteak for takeout. Normally this meal comes with fries, but apparently takeout doesn't (still the same price). When I asked they said I can order a side of fries. That doesn't make sense to me. We have been going to this place from when it started as a small take out place many years ago. We have seen it going down hill for a few years, but thought we would try it one more time. We went in last Sat night and confirmed we wont go back. Service was really slow, food prep was even slower and the food continues to go down hill. We tried pasta and apps, but wouldn't recommend. Given that I'm a local and I've been there twice in the past 3 weeks, I think I can admit I'm a fan. The lasagna portion is good - quite loaded with cheeze on top so if you like that lighter do say something. But it comes with a nice side salad. The calamari is pretty good, not the best in town - but pretty tasty. But let's be honest, go there for the cheese steaks and try the wild mushroom pizza. We had 28 classmates from our 35th reunion meet there for dinner on a Friday night recently. The folks at Giordano's let us have the Mezzanine level at the sports bar [completely to ourselves]. We had a great time, [we were able to converse very easily on the mezzanine,,,,no crazy noises!] The food was outstanding and the staff were very helpful.
