Fun family place, but also a good sports bar. Good beer selection and great Cher steaks and pizza!

We had been regular customers for many years, 15- 20 years. Management changed, and not for the better. In the past we had orders almost once a week from pretty much everything on the menu; cheesesteaks, hoagies, ravioli, meatballs, ahi tuna, pasta, chicken parm etc. The food was good, very rare to have had any issues. ( lets be honest, we are human, no restaurant gets everything right all the time). Unfortunately the food is no longer worth it, and some menu items say they are local favorites??? Menu now looks like a restaurant trying to find an identity. Tuna is supposed to be rare, but they now cook it to medium at best, wings are fried until dry, the sandwich quality has dropped in size and taste, turkey club was so soggy, pasta overcooked to mush, no need to go on. We just have been too disappointed lately to give it another go after the FIFTH maybe sixth time. We obviously tried, but the old Kennett Gios is no longer. Save your money read more

Service was just ok. Said they were renovating restaurant but had same menu in bar. Only thing good was mushroom soup. Calamari salty & rubbery. Eggplant parm mushy & salty. Only come to town every three years or so & this is normally my go to but can't next time. read more

Honestly I'd give a negative star. The bartenders would rather wash dishes and Chat with each other then serve drinks. I found the staff and manager Joe unprofessional . No one wishes to go out & pay good money for attitude and disrespect. Please save your money and go somewhere else. With the bad attitudes why bother ! read more

I walked in and I immediately got thrown back to 1992. My sister and nieces joined me for dinner at Giordano's. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli, the sauce tasted like it was bottled and the price was a bit absurd for an entirely underwhelming dish. $19!? My 6 year old niece is a legitimate wing connoisseur. Instead of milk at birth I'm pretty sure she was given franks hot sauce. She ordered the BBQ wings and said they were "alright." Other items ordered were the spaghetti in a red sauce which my niece enjoyed and the eggplant parm sandwich, that was described as "meh, I've had better." So, as much as I loved the 90's this place needs some serious updating. The price of the pasta surely did not reflect the quality of the dish. While I used to enjoy coming here back in the day, I think Giordano's needs some change! read more

Sad this was the place to go when they moved the new building food was great prices great. Kennett has changed so much but this place has become a high end brown derby old it's an expensive hole in the wall and outdated the 90's decor that's not only outdated but beat up missing paint banged up walls The outrageous prices. Sunday eagles game they are understaffed and game isn't even on most the TVs. Being kennetts only sports bar you would think have a lock on things. Seems like the owners are busy with other restaurants and forgot about this place guess it's a cash cow they are willing to loose. Hopefully they change I'll edit this review as I see Stephanie R who clearly must be a transplant from Delco where establishments of this caliber are considered classy. Food has went downhill since the new owners took over. After being disappointed with my last meal, I reached out with a phone call, no response, an email, no response. As a place we frequented weekly & speaking with other locals who are saying the same thing about the food, this speaks volumes. What ashame to see this after the Giordano's built a thriving business. read more

We were seated our waitress took our orders two other couples were seated after us and received there orders before ours. Ordered a chicken cheese steak it was warm at best supposed to have cheese bearley noticed. Might give it another try. I ordered the roast pork sandwich again it was bearly warm but full of flavor. read more

God I love this place. It's been almost a year since my last visit and I'm just absolutely spoiled by their cheesesteaks. I'm from VA and the old saying is so true. If you want a cheesesteak, you have to come up to the Philly area. Nothing else compares. My brother is a regular here and we brought mom up here for lunch to. Everyone had a cheesesteak. Well Mom had half a cheesesteak and took the rest home. We arrived just before the lunch rush and I don't think we waited 15 minutes from the time we placed our orders until they were setting the food down in front of us. Service was good, we sat on the bar side, and our server stopped by regularly to check on us and keep the drinks filled. Another excellent visit. Very quickly made it back for food. I was not expecting what I got, I'll tell you that much. The food was really good! The French fries were great - you didn't even need ketchup. That's saying a lot coming from me, too, because I don't usually like French fries that much. The side salad that you can get instead of French fries was also REALLY good! It had lettuce, red onion, tomato, cucumber, and really good croutons. It wasn't your typical pile of iceberg lettuce side salad that you don't even like to eat but force down just to get your veggies. The house Italian dressing that came with it was really great, too. I can't believe I'm raving about a side salad. I was just so shocked that it was so good! The chicken cheesesteak was great. I ordered it with jalapeños because they don't have pepper jack cheese and I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to eat a chicken cheesesteak without jalapeños again! The burgers were actually cooked as they were ordered. Normally you order a rare or medium burger at other places and they come out medium-well or well done. Not here! The burgers were pink and perfect. The waitress was also very nice. I really feel like I can't complain about this place at all. So many different types of people would like it. If you want to drink at a bar, they can do that for you here. If you want to play trivia on a big screen, they can do that for you. If you want to watch sports, they definitely have you covered. And if you want a really good meal, you also won't be disappointed. Love it here! read more

If you're employee forgot the dressing and you give me a credit, that same salad better be the same quality and it's not. Seems like the chicken has been sitting around for a few hours! This is a nice, casual spot that I sometimes have lunch meetings in. My use for this place is kind of specific, as this location is at a really convenient central location to people I work with. The food is very solid, they have a variety of different options (and many suit my coworkers who are kind of health nuts). Best of all, it's pretty quiet around lunchtime and it makes for convenient conversations without super loud music drowning you out (there is some, though, so I dont think I would use it for work calls or phoning someone in). They have a good-looking bar that could be good for light dates, and the whole place seems like it could be a nice place for the entire family. read more

Dated dated dated Menus are old and falling apart, bathroom is old and smells, and dining room has a bunch of painted aluminum furniture. Menu is your typical pizza place with a few additions. I.e chili Servers tend to be a bunch of local high schoolers (enough said about level of service) Pizza is good however any of the pasta is horrible. This place is a local fixture, however if you ask me it was better when it was just a standalone pizza shop and not a restaurant and sports bar. read more

We came here after wandering around in Longwood for hours, looking at Christmas lights. Frozen, hungry and thirsty. Started gulping down mixed drinks (4), beer (4) and scotch. Got anti pasto salad (4) and caesar (3). Then came the pizza -- a large full house (5) and a grilled mushroom (5). Honestly two of the best tasting pizzas I can remember. The service is friendly abd helpful (4). If you want great pizza go here for sure! If you are expecting a special occasion, once in a lifetime, culinary experience....you are confused. Been a customer since 1983, when they were just a pizza shop About a block away in that little strip mall is (where Mini's bakery used to be). Great pizza especially the full house (use to be square pie back in '83). Great Stromboli's especially the ricotta & spinach. Great soups, kudo's to the mushroom and the wedding soups. Ch. We can here to meet some people for dinner. The place is oddly separated with a sports bar being above on the hill and the restaurant and bar being below. The layout of the restaurant is bizarre to me! The staff is friendly and accommodating! One person in our party ordered something that wasn't even on the menu and she said... sure we can make that! If it's not on the menu just ask. I ordered the margherrita pizza, I was not that impressed. The tomatoes was really just tomato sauce and there was no fresh basil on the pizza either. UGH......BOY OH BOY do we miss the old family owned Giordanos Italian Restaurant!!!!!!! We have tried it a few times since it was under new ownership and it is NOTHING AT ALL LIKE THE ORIGINAL ITALIAN RESTAURANT WITH ITS DELICIOUS FOOD THAT WAS ALWAYS PREPARED WITH SKILL AND LOVE FOR THE FOOD THEY WERE COOKING. We tried it several times hoping for some delicious food and have been extremely disappointed. old Giordanos had delicious nachos for example that were piled with delicious toppings. New nachos were DISGUSTING! there were a few store bought taco chips(and i literally mean a few) that werent even good ones and served with jarred cheese wiz. That was it!!! I couldnt believe i was being given that and charged for it! i complained and found out that i was not the only one complaining . The whole menu has changed. Many of the old well loved dishes have been removed and the menu is really not Italian anymore at all. We have tried a couple dishes and they were just ok... not great. The restaurant has become largely american bar food that you can get anywhere and actually there are many local places that do it MUCH better! Two Stones Kennett Square for example is great... Delicious and creative ! The pizza at Giordanos is still pretty good but the menu aside from pizzas is disappointing and just ok at best. read more

Loved going to Giordano's when they were next to Minnie's which was many moons ago (15). I would pick years l up food after my daughter got done ballet they were next to Minnie's. We keep trying them here and there but the quality and consistency is way OFF. Tonight for cheesesteaks - hubby got regular and I got the touted KSQ with mushrooms-where are the mushrooms? This is a sports bar. We have a place with the same name where I live and they aren't similar at all. The pizza was actually pretty good - we ordered 4 different types for our large party, and they were all tasty. We tried their New York Style, their White Pizza, a Pepperoni, and a couple with The Works. The price wasn't too bad considering you get 8 slices per pizza. We didn't have to order seconds. For a sports bar, it appears they focus more on the "sports" part, and less on the "bar" part. The beer selection on tap was small, and wine was available by the glass only. Which means they probably poured it out of a box or something similar. It tasted okay, but when you want a bottle and can only get a glass for your party, it's kind of a buzz kill. The service was excellent. The food was good. Getting in and out - look both ways before you choose an exit, and be careful - this is between 2 one-way streets. Ordered two pies for take out. If Digiorno's supermarket pizza is your pizza, this will be the place for you. However, if you're from NY and accustomed to having many excellent pizzerias within walking distance, this place in Kennett Square will be highly disappointing. Full disclosure: since moving down to West Chester/Kennett Square, I have not found a decent pizzeria anywhere, so maybe the locals are accustomed to eating cardboard, tasteless pizza...but I'm not. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat! Their cheesesteaks are the best I've ever had. Rolls are always fresh and soft. The meat is packed in and full. Unless I'm starving, can't eat one myself. Usually split with my husband. Pizza is amazing! Italian entrees are large portions- usually good for 2 meals. Waitstaff is always courteous and very friendly. read more

Food = really good, not badly priced, good selection, fresh and homemade tasting. Service = fantastic young man waited on us, with a few others checking in and filling our waters along the way. Flexible with our dietary requests (no bread, no potatoes). Ambiance = left something to be desired, due to decor and strange layout. Kind of warehousey mixed with 90s colors and patterns, kind of dinery, too. It seemed like it didn't know what it wants to be. Overall, we had a nice time here. NY Strip Steak was impressive, and came with yummy freshly sauteed veggies. I had a cobb salad, that was great - they forgot the chicken originally, but quickly brought it when we pointed it out. We got some great appetizers too - stuffed mushrooms (with lots of yummy crab) and these broccoli cheese bites, which were perfect when we were starving - and they both came out quickly! Thinking the fact we were there when it was mostly empty at 4pm contributed to the weird ambiance, but we'd definitely come back! PS Pizza looked fantastic. Mediocre food in an unappealing atmosphere. For almost 20 years this was a favorite place for my wife and me. No more. The food is served barely warm and the draft beer has a bad taste. This place needs some TLC to get back to where it was. I am sure they have the same recipes that brought people to it. Now they need to clean and update the joint and serve the food hot to attract their former customers. A new go to place for me is Two Stones; freash beer, fresh food, awesome and responsive staff. I paid $98 for worse than hospital food! I'm not a picky eater by any means- I've eaten my share of military, hospital, plane and gas station food. This was honestly worse than all. We sent our rubber (calamari) back, kids meals(how do you mess it up?) were awful. I could go on. The lack of cleanliness in the restaurant to include the bathrooms is appalling (see picture of dust on fake plants above our booth). The white on the leaves is a layer of dust/ filth! First impressions: THIS PLACE IS FREAKING HUGE! No exaggeration. And I can't speak for how many customers these guys get, because it was Thursday around lunchtime, but we thought it was closed when we drove up because there were so little cars in the parking lot. When we walked in we didn't have any idea what to think. The decor is really cool-looking and really confusing at the same time. The color and theme are... interesting. The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, carpets were dirty, and dust in many areas, but regardless the building is beautiful. We sat down at a table greeted by a friendly waitress. Service here is average, but no problem. The employees almost look like they're trying too hard to impress - and they're somewhat falling short. Food was iffy; nothing truly unique about it. We were recommended the chicken parm, so we went for it, but it was just average. However, nothing was terrible. Don't really know if we would go back here again. I see some good reviews and some okay ones. My consensus: it's a quick stop for pretty average food, which isn't always a bad thing, but Giordano's may end up being a little more mediocre than you can handle. So just ok. They have two separate entrances that are not connected. I waited an hour for fiends that were already there. Duh!!! The service is fine. The pizza is good. The house special is the best one. Upstairs is a sports bar. Downstairs is more of a restaurant. Prices are ok. But you need to walk all the way around outside to get from one to the other. This place has a restaurant and a bar section - and you can't cross between them without going outside, which is a little weird. I've eaten in the restaurant a couple times, and it's good, but nothing special. I remember enjoying it, but nothing sticks out in my mind. More often I'd be in the sports bar area, which is fun and laid back. There are a decent number of tables available to sit at, eat, and enjoy the place with your friends without actually having to sit up by the bar. But the main highlight - Table Shuffleboard. Ok, I don't know the real name for it, but that seems to fit. And everything I know about it, I learned from a stallion handler named Jim. If you're there, and you see a guy with white hair over by the table, hanging out with some younger folk who seem like they might be veterinarians and veterinarians-to-be, you should go say hi. Jim's the best! Table Shuffleboard is like shuffleboard, but on a table. Stop me if I'm going too fast for you. That would be hard, since this was written in full before you're reading it, but I'm sure you could make the effort. So there's 'sand' (actually perfectly round silicon beads - thanks, Jim!) on the table which help the discs glide across the table. The goal is to get your discs as close to the other edge without falling off, and keep your opponent from having any discs that reach beyond yours. If you're into the Olympics, think curling without the brooms. And a rectangular playing field. And an edge instead of a bullseye. Ok, don't think curling. It's really quite simple to understand. To blatantly rip off the slogan for the great game of 'Othello' - 'A minute to learn, a lifetime to master.' Pizza! Root beer! Real beer! Shuffleboard! Stallion handlers! Went to my cousin's first birthday party here and I was impressed. The pizza here was pretty good which surprised me how far out we were from the city. Nice brick oven baked pie that had a nice crisp to it and a nice chewy inner part. Cheese and toppings were plentiful. This place has a sports bar and a restaurant and there are TV's everywhere. Really really liked it and think it is good stuff. I would definitely recommend for some nice takeout/wings / bar food in the area. Things are good. read more

The people on here who ordered anything besides the Excellent cheesesteaks (especially the Kennett Steak) the amazing pizza (seriously.... Just..... Mmmm) or the mushroom anythings (they get em fresher than anyone) is madness. I dont go here for top notch service. Its fine, but nothing amazing. I dont go here for the atmosphere, it looks straight out of a Saved By The Bell episode. I dont go here for the beer, theyve got a few. I go for the superb regional food. We drive up from Charlotte 2x a year and I eat here every time I'm up. Good price, great food if you order what theyre famous for, big portions. read more

I came here for the first time in a long time with a large party for a wedding rehearsal dinner. I was impressed with the food, but not with the rate of service. For a large party, we were all served at different times; the table next to me having already finished their meals while I was just receiving mine. However, the food was great and the waitress was extremely accommodating. The fettuccine Alfredo is the best I've had in a long time. Creamy, not oily, and so so rich. For dessert, I had some banana cream fried deliciousness that I can't recall the name of. Had I not been so full from the great dinner, I would have devoured the entire dessert. Which I recommend doing. Having been here for a casual lunch, I have always had good experiences. Large parties don't seem to be a specialty at Giordano's, but it's fine as long as they keep cranking out that great food. I also attended the sports bar and had a great time. Terrible. I have never, ever left this place satisfied. The very first time I went was when I first moved into the area years ago. I don't remember the exact details but I know I got pasta with red sauce, and I know the pasta was overdone and the sauce tastes like Ragu. Now I can't even make a decent fried egg, but I can make pasta. Ruining pasta is a deal breaker, especially for someplace called Giordano's! I didn't go back for years. The second time, it was 9pm on a Sunday and I had out of town guests. Not only were my fish and chips mediocre, the tarter sauce tasted like they made it from scratch, but used the wrong kind of relish; seriously, it was disgusting. Both of my friends said their meals were not good, even the French fries were lousy. Terrible, terrible time. The third time my friend was set on going because they were hosting the football game, which is probably the only thing this place does well. Beer selection was poor, just the usual suspects, craziest thing they had was Leinenkugal Summer Shandy, tasty but hardly exotic. I tried to order some pulled pork sliders but they were out so I just had my friend's French fries and left early. I genuinely don't know how they stay in business, they're terrible at everything beyond keeping televisions in stock. If it were between Giordano's and Wendy's, I'd choose Wendy's. read more
