The best Udon noodle soup ever!
    Lita L.

Went to lunch here for the first time with bff, and thoroughly enjoyed it, both company and meal! I ordered off the lunch menu, Udon noodle soup with Tempura veggies. It probably was the best Udon noodle soup I ever had! The broth was incredible, and the Tempura veggies were crispy and plentiful. I would come back and have it again, that good!

Vegetable tempura and american onion rings

This place had good ratings on uber so I finally ordered from here. Not at all my cup of tea. If you've ever had REALLY good sushi you will be disappointed. The food was just ok but priced as if I should expect something more. Once I opened the vegetable tempura appetizer and saw american onion rings (the cheap ones with no onion) I knew it was downhill from there.

The sushi is so fresh and service is great. Highly recommend as our local sushi restaurant

Surprisingly large House Ginger Salad, Ginza Japanese Restaurant, Lutz / Land O Lakes, N Tampa

Ginza Japanese Restaurant is located off Collier Parkway & State Road 54 on the side of a shopping plaza next to Publix Supermarket & China Wok. Ginza features a large 2 sided sushi bar with seating for 8, 5 tables in the middle of the restaurant, and hidden private booth seating that gives diners privacy and make diners feel like they're in their own world! The House Ginger Salad was surprisingly much larger than the typical bowl these are served in and the ginger salad dressing was on point! 8/10 The Pacific Ocean Deluxe Sushi roll came topped w escolar, red tuna, colored tobico (inside) krab, krab stick, mayo, s roe, Asparagus, avocado. 9/10 The Fire Volcano came topped with broiled spicy salmon over spicy tuna roll spicy mayo, avocado sauce, tempura crunch eel sauce. 9/10 The Gangham Style Deluxe Sushi roll came with Marinated crab meat, fried onion, eei sauce, spicy mayo, masago, Conch, fried shrimp, crab stick, cream cheese, cucumber, and avocado. 9/10 The OMG roll came topped with Steamed shrimp, fried onion, sweet and chili sauce, spicy mayo, (Inside) krab meat, avocado. 8/10 If you're in the Lutz or Land O Lakes area and looking for great sushi, hibachi, bento, or udon noodles with private comfy booth seating, definitely give Ginza Japanese Restaurant a try!

Salad - priced wrong on menu. Literally lettuce and dressing

I wouldn't eat here as a first choice. They give you a stack of different paper menus that are nasty and the prices don't match what they charge you. The Server is the one making the sushi. And it just wasn't good at all the sushi roll was nasty and sloppy and the salad was chopped lettuce and dressing nothing else. Then when you say something they look at you like you have 3 heads. Needless to say I paid full price for everything and didn't eat anything. No manager presence whatsoever.

Tampa Roll (my favorite! Perfect comfort food)

My favorite little sushi restaurant in Land O Lakes! They're so accommodating and sweet. Great customer service! Once you place your order, they're quick to make your meal and have it served as soon as possible. We order take out quite often and they have the best easy sushi comfort food. It's more affordable than other sushi restaurants. It's a cute, cozy restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. My Mom and I enjoy grabbing lunch here as well. They offer a pretty large variety of sushi and that's typically what I order here. The booths are designed to have a private table experience which is sweet and intimate.

Summary: a good Japanese/Asian restaurant with something for everyone (it's a big menu)! I came here with my friend on a Thursday night! It wasn't packed but it wasn't full and wait times for the food were good even though they said it would take some time! The waiters were very nice and kept checking in on us to see if everything was fine! I found this to be one of the better sushi spots than many others I've tried (but haven't reviewed) in Tampa. Spice Tuna Tacos- these were great appetizers! Light & fresh tasting (a lot of sushi restaurants in tampa, I find, don't have very fresh tasting fish). The shells were thick and crispy (maybe too thick?) and the sauce it was covered in was lightly salted (probably soy) sweetened with some sugar! Only issue I have with it is that I really didn't taste or see any or very little cucumber. That would have made this very refreshing. 4/5 Nabeyaki Udon- this was a delicious soup! However, we were wishing there was more broth or less tempura bits in the soup because it took all the broth. The flavour was awesome and the udon was a nice thickness but I wish if were a little bit more elastic. Ithat elasticness would have given it a chewier Texture. The tempura bits were great (you also get a tempura sweet potato slice, which was not mentioned). Everything that was served with the soup tasted fresh and nice. 4/5 [Fire] Volcano Roll- it was my preferred of the two special rolls we ordered! My main complaint was that this was extremely saucy- to the point where you couldn't taste the fish. This would be great for non-sushi lovers, but not great for people who like the fresh taste of the fish. The broiled salmon was delicious with the sauce though. Otherwise, the the California roll was delicious. 4/5 Double Spicy Tuna Roll- it's literally double the tuna you would get in a regular roll. My complaint would be the same as the volcano roll, too much sauce and mayo on it! This would have been a great if it weren't drowned by the sauces and the cream cheese. 3/5

They brought out some items that looked like pellets, but when they poured water over them it ended up expanding into hand towels with the water. It was a nice touch. We were somewhat hungry so we ended up ordering Soy Butter Glazed Baked Salmon with the ginger salad. Basically greens and tomatoes and carrots but the dressing was quite flavorful with ginger. The salmon was good, nicely presented with some bok choy, green onions, mushrooms, rice, teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. It was a bit overcooked in my opinion (they said medium rare for cooking temp, but it was more like medium or medium well). My husband and I were both craving fish, so that satisfied our cravings, but the texture and the temperature are what got to us. My brother opted for the tuna Sashimi (roughly 3 pieces), chicken teriyaki, rice, zucchini, bell pepper, and onions. It was cooked as expected. The atmosphere was nice and inviting, with a clear view of the sushi chefs. We were also close to the bar (featuring a nice selection of different types of spirits). We weren't in the mood to have any drinks, but I do know some people seated at the bar were taking in some of their cocktails, and they looked amazing. All in all great spot, attentive for the service, polite and honestly some good food. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area, since they had quite a few things on the menu to choose from!

They were falling apart, rolled poorly and mostly rice and avocado. If this had been from an inexpensive place I wouldn't have thought much about it but these were $24 rolls each! How do you even charge $200 for a plate of rice with any integrity??? The flavor wasn't bad but it was exremely underwhelming, bland and it sorta bombed my birthday. I ordered one order of nigiri and I'm 5'3 and 115 lbs for reference and the two pieces of fish on top of the rice were each smaller than my pinky finger. C'mon, that's ridiculous and embarassing to serve that for $12 for 2 pieces of fish that were barely a nibble. This is not NOBO malibu. I am really disappointed and feel ripped off. My server was very friendly & went over the menu a bit with me since it was my first time here, & I decided on doing the AYCE dinner that way I could try a bit of everything. I got some hot green tea as well as a bottle of Peach Soju. I got a whole pot for the tea, & the soju was served in a small ice bucket, which I thought was cool because I love to keep mine chilled! I started off with a couple appetizers & some sashimi, the presentation was amazing & the freshness of the seafood delicious! My favorite was definitely the Blue Fin tuna, & apparently I wasn't the only fan because they had run out of almost all of it which was a little sad but just means I'll have to come again to try some more lol. The sushi rolls were fantastic & rolled perfectly, my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because I wanted to order 1 of every roll but after my fourth roll I could feel myself getting full & sadly had to stop there. I did order some fried oreos for dessert which just hit different when they are done in tempura batter, I love it! The only thing food wise that I could critique is definitely the miso soup, while it looks really good, it was bland & just tasted like warm water & tofu. The restaurant itself is styled really well, I remember when this location used to be a Red Lobster but looking at it now there's no way you could tell. Even though the booths are pretty close together they were surprisingly quite, I could barely hear anyone that was around me, it felt like I was in a coffee shop instead of an actual restaurant.

While we came for the poke, they also have a açaí bowl bar, hot food and even Boba. It was so hard deciding what to get because everything looked and sounded so fresh and amazing. I settled on the first and most popular menu item The Ultimate Poke Sushi Bowl. Everything included sounded delicious. I did sub the carrots for ginger and added mango. The price is only $14.99 which is amazing cause other poke restaurants charge more. What makes it even more impressing is the whopping amount of food they give you. They are not stingy on the portions by any means. In fact I had so much leftover I got to have two great meals out of it. I didn't get boba as it was late and I was just excited for dinner but I did get a fountain drink. They have stubborn soda which I love. It's made with cane sugar. The employee working was very kind.
