Ok... first of all, he specializes in GI. Second, I saw him when I was a teenager, and he was a…read moregood dr. NOW, had an appt @ 2:15, went back about that time, sat in the room until 10 after 3. He spent 5 MINUTES with me, and I was in the car by 3:15. During those 5 minutes, he asked me the same questions, multiple times (are you constipated? You're not constipated, right? Do you have constipation?) He would ask me a question, then interrupt me before I could answer, didn't care about family history, told me to STOP taking a natural GERD treatment that works for me, and start taking a pharmaceutical that didn't work for me before, even though I told him that what I take now works, when the rx's didn't. Decided my problem is constipation/GERD after not listening to me, and not doing a thorough evaluation. He wrote an rx for REGLAN for me (if you're not familiar w/ Reglan, check this out: http://www.reglansideeffectslawsuit.com/) after having me sign an informed consent form that told me I may experience side effects, and that they may be permanent. I asked him about a possible Hiatal Hernia (3 gen's back have it in my family) and he immediately said, maybe, but there's nothing we can do for that. Which is not true. SO HE'S PRESCRIBING DANGEROUS DRUGS FOR A POSSIBLE ISSUE, AND IGNORING A MORE LIKELY ISSUE, because I pay out of pocket. He told me there are tests they could do, but since I pay out of pocket, there's no need to do them. HE ASSUMES I CAN'T AFFORD THEM, instead of asking me if I can, or explaining my options and letting me have a say in what I would like to do. The man needs to retire.
