When I started with Dr. Noguera 20+ years ago, I thought I had discovered a treasure. He was friendly, he and his staff were courteous friendly and thorough. He took time to discuss issues. Until 2 years ago I would have given 5 stars. I followed him from South County to Arnold to Festus. In the last two years everything has changed. Now you wait over an hour, with patients stacked on top of one another in a very small waiting room. Once you are in an examination room you wait for another 30 to 40 minutes. The guise is that he is redoing something etc. He no longer comes to the assigned examination room- you are taken to him which could be another examination room or his office. You are lucky if it is an examination room where an air of privacy exists. If it is his office, there is no door and patients in the lab area hears everything that is said to you. But there is no guaranteed privacy even in the examination room. I have had his nurse practitioner walk in on my time to discuss another patient for over 10 minutes - the fact that his name and health were mentioned in front of me showed a complete lack of professionalism and violated privacy laws. Dr. Noguera also took a call from a hospital to discuss blood test results etc for another patient. Last year in October, I told his staff that my obgyn wanted me to see Dr. Noguera asap because of a serious medical problem. It took eight days to get an appointment despite bleeding and severe anemia. The obgyn sent my blood work and test results showing that I needed to have a blood transfusion immediately. Dr. Noguera did not look at the results- nor did his staff until I went for my appointment 8 days later. Due to the fact that it had been more than 7 days I had to undergo more blood tests for which I had to pay. When his office was to send authorization for surgery, I had contacted the office for over ten days; I was in the surgery waiting room when the authorization finally arrived. The second surgery that took place 30 days later, I went through the same hassles. To get a response I used verified faxes to prove that i sent the request and that they received the faxes. My last appointment was this past Thursday. A 75 minute wait in the waiting room, 40 minutes in the examination room. Needless to say, I was furious- and my blood pressure showed it. Then the nurse continued to take my blood pressure with a cup that I told her was hurting severely. My comments of a sinus infection, ear aches etc went unheeded. When Dr. Noguera finally saw me, I was asked to go to his office, where not only was he sitting at his computer, but another person to whom I was never introduced.. As Dr.Noguera addressed my blood pressure, she kept interjecting comments. He told me he was sending me for blood tests, which he did not prescribed. He did not check me for the sinus infection and ear infection, so off to urgent care where my blood pressure was ok. After the follow up appointment I will be searching for a new physician. read more
