Bad customer service and quality. The shop isn't open as listed and they don't answer the phone. If you are lucky to be there when it's open, the tailor will not do the work as asked and will fix it at an additional charge. Overpriced for services. read more

The great reputation this place used to have is gone after the man with the dreadlocks took over. Their customer service is deplorable. We had some pants that needed to be hemmed and after over a month and 4 visits, we asked for our pants back since he never got to them. Every time we would go, he would state that he would place them on the table to get them done ASAP. We would go back and they still weren't finished. The last time and I do mean the last time we were there, the customer before us was also not happy and told him she had been going there for years but she would never go back. They continue accepting new customers, but he is very unreliable. They give you a delivery date, but in my case three months went by without him doing any alterations to my pants, always giving me different excuses, until I finally decided to take my pants back and look for a better option. Not recommended! I took my pants to get hemmed. The guy with the patch said it would take one week. I went to pick them up. He couldn't find my pants. He said that the owner sent them out to another tailor because their tailor was out sick. I went back one week after (week 2) and they couldn't find my pants. There was another lady with the same issue. The one eye guy said that he would call me once he located the pants and that in the event they lost them they would reimburse the cost of my pants. The guy never called. I called on week three. Told them I just wanted my pants back and that I was on my way. I got there and the lady (owner) handed me my pants. They did not get hemmed. The place was dirty, old, and smelled horrible. First and last time I go. read more

I have been a customer for about 15 years and always very satisfied with Ginos work, timing and pricing. After Gino passed away the shop felt apart. Its overpriced and highly unreliable. I am waiting for 3 weeks for two pants having it changed from size 42 to 40. Even with extra pay for accelerated service I am still waiting. I will never use this tailor shop again ! read more

Finally was able to go to a place that supposedly does alterations. Yet when explained could not find anyone and what had hoped for. I was told that they do none of what I needed. To my response should not be called a tailor shop then. And what kind of tailor shop is this. At least, know now I will never attempt to give them my business (again). read more

I have been going to Ginos Tailoring for years. His quality of work was always superb. His prices were reasonable. I just found out today Gino passed away this year in March. Blessed with a fun-sized proportional body, majority of all my dress pants have to be hemmed. My normal alterations lady went on vacation so I was forced to search the city for a basic hem service. This is my story. One particular day, I called about seven dry cleaning and alterations stores and they either replied with a kind "don't-do-that-here", "it will take 2 weeks for completed service", one didn't answer...Then my last call to a well-known dry cleaning place picked up. (Side rant, why did it have to be my seventh call?!?, why couldn't it had been my first call", talk about endurance being tested...). Unfortunately, they too couldn't complete the service in the time I wanted HOWEVER, they recommended Gino's Tailors on Lee Trevino. I drove to Gino's place which is TUCKED in a corner of a strip mall across the high school. Walked in (with a mask of course) and waited for the older gentleman to finish helping his young clients up front. This gave me comfort knowing that there's some public support for this particular location. If I didn't see some sort of foot traffic, I would probably be nervous about giving them my business, you know what I mean? My turn. At the counter I explained what I needed done and seeing as he looked experienced with his "widgets" on his wrist and his measuring tape around his neck, I figured I challenged him with an extra service request: add belt loops to my dress pants. I tried both pants on and he marked all the necessary marks on the fabric. Odd thing, he didn't pin the pants would needles. I thought that was a default thing you do since "my lady" often does it. He gave me ticket and I was in and out real quick. The whole service : two dress pants hemmed and added belt loops to one of the pants. Total $30.00. This is affordable as most hemming services are about $15/pants. Also like to add that I dropped it off on a Wednesday and it was ready to picked up on a Friday. So affordable and quick! At pick up, I was very pleased with the stitching and the added belt loops! To end my long story short, would I recommend this location? Absolutely! read more

I haven't needed to have anything altered before here in El Paso so I didn't know who to go to. I've read multiple reviews from many different locations here in El Paso but I didn't trust the shops with all the negative reviews. Seems nobody here really cares about their line of work anymore as long as they're getting paid. Not Gino, I had dress pant's recently fixed and they were perfect fit with my boots! I've already had two pairs of jeans also fixed. I can't say anything for woman's dresses or anything like that, but if you're looking for a place to fix your jeans / pants go with Gino! read more

Took a suit top in that needed some small fixing. We dropped off our item on Thursday around 3pm and were told to come that Saturday to pick it up. We arrived Saturday and we were then told that it was not ready yet. No big deal. We told him we'd just pick it up Monday afternoon. We picked it up today and everything is gucci, just how we wanted it. He charged us $15 and I believe there is a convenience fee if paying with card. The business is tucked in the back of the shopping plaza so it's a bit hidden. They were very friendly so I will be back. read more

Took my son's pants to get patches on new pants bought with holes because thats the fashion. Problem is schools dont allow pants with holes. Just this morning one of my son's counselors said his daughter was sent home for having holes in pants. This shop is right across a high school and they told me they dont do patches. Really? If they have no idea of their customers across the street, I doubt they care much. I noticed that when I walked in and had to call them to their counter because they had no idea I was in their shop. No stars! I went to the shop for the first time with 3 pairs of pants. The person who finally came out of the back asked what i needed and i explained hem and taper the legs. He acted as if i was bothering him and it was very hard to understand him. I basically had to ask him to measure and pin the pants. He said fine and pointed to the dressing room. Once he was done not pinning and only Chalking them up. He said one is good enough. WTF he was not even concerned! He told me it would cost 20 bucks per pair of pants and then said they will be ready on Friday. I called on Friday at 10 am and asked if they were ready for pick up ..with out even asking me for the ticket number they said yes they are ready..so i said do you want to check? I have the number. He replied and then with in a minute he hung up on me. I called back and a lady called she said they will be ready by noon. I told her about getting hung up on and how the person said they were ready when they did not even know for sure. This seems to be status quo for El Paso. Very sad. My wedding is next week and they altered my dress perfectly to my body and you can't even tell it's been altered They took a couple days longer than I wanted but for excellent work I do not mind I highly recommend this place and the price is cheap as well I couldn't be happier read more

So I paid almost 400$ for my prom dress and just needed it altered to make it shorter. It was this beautiful princess dress and gave him my heel measurements and even told him to make it a little longer. I wanted it barely dragging on the floor so it still had that flowy look. He tells me to pick it up a week later on a Friday. I pick it up on Saturday because I didn't have much time Friday, but then he tells me it's not ready because there were "too many other dresses." He then asked when my prom was and thankfully I told him it was a week later when really it was two so if anything like this happenend it wouldn't affect m. I tell him prom is next week but I wanted to get it early just in case I needed to make extra adjustments if needed. He said it'd be ready Monday so I go to pick it up today and tell me why are my whole shoes showing. I cried because this is not what I asked or paid for. It's my last prom because I'm graduating in 3 weeks and this will definitely be a memorable experience for the wrong reasons so thanks... read more

I will definitely never bring another item to get altered here. First off, the owner was a bit rude upon my arrival and even asked if I could come back the next day to try on my dress for alterations. I dropped it off on a Friday and said I would return for it the next Saturday. When I got there with my pickup ticket, he asked if I was picking it up on the correct day when he clearly wrote Saturday on there. He had not even started working on my dress, it sat there untouched for more than a week. His excuse was that he did not have the right colored thread for my dress and asked me to come back on Monday. I ended up coming back on Tuesday for my dress which was super inconvenient as I had to work and I was leaving out of town the next day. The work on my dress was nothing special, but it did fit correctly. Do yourself a favor and find a better tailor. read more

So let me start off by saying that I read the reviews prior to using Gino's and even though some of them were pretty bad, I decided to give this place a shot. All I needed was for a cocktail dress to be shortened a few inches and for straps to be added (since the dress was strapless). I spoke with the owner and we agreed that the dress would be shortened and that the extra fabric would be used to make straps. We also agreed on making the straps adjustable, he confirmed that it was possible and that he would do it. My dress was to be ready two days prior to my event, so there was really no room for error. Anyway, I picked up the dress when it was ready and to my surprise he told me that he was unable to make the straps adjustable and went on to charge me...I was upset but still paid and went on my way because I'm not a confrontational person. I get home and I'm praying that the straps fit nicely, but they don't. Not only are the straps so high that the dress is cutting into My armpits, but they're crooked! no symmetry at all! I was fuming and on the verge of crying because we had originally agreed to adjustable straps so I'm my head I could not understand why he didn't call me to make sure I was okay with his decision to not make them adjustable. At this point I go back to the shop and point out the crooked straps. I don't have it in me to argue with people so I didn't ask for a refund but instead just asked for him to fix the symmetry. He did so right then and there without apologizing or anything. On the end, the dress was unusable..the now symmetrical straps still made the dress ride up my armpits. I had to scramble to spend more money on another cocktail dress. Anyway, the lesson I took away from this is to believe the bad reviews and prepare for the worst if you still choose to still use the place or service. read more

Had a dress with a lot of beadwork that I needed hemmed. Since I know not everyone can do that kind of work I called ahead to ask. Over the phone I was told they could do it no problem. I asked if I needed an appointment and was told no, they accept walk-ins and to come in anytime. When I arrived later that day I was barely greeted and immediately asked if I could come back Monday. I tried to explain I was just looking to drop off the garment not have it completed immediately. At that point I was told they don't do work on beaded garments and I'd have to go elsewhere. He did try to give me an alternative person to try but at that point I was very disappointed with the poor communication and poor service. read more

Took in two dress shirts, a suit, and a dress. He didn't actually replace the zipper in the dress, which is why I brought the dress to him. I sure paid for a zipper replacement, but i sure didn't get one. Won't be going back. read more

They had not even begun working on them, but said they could have ready later that afternoon. Why weren't they ready when promised if it was that simple?
