It's so hard to find good NY style pizza, and most of the pizza in this area is similar to Fred's/ Giovanni's/ Gino's and to have such a tasty example of NY style in Huntington was a rare find. We are definitely coming back.

We lived in Huntington before and would drive to this restaurant in Milton, passing other pizza places (some named Giovanni's also). The friendliness of this place is exceptional. I feel welcome and invited each time I visit. Today we ordered the Five meat treat pizza (I asked to have spicy pepperoni and spicy sausage today) which is my (Charley) favorite and my wife ordered the Turkey Bacon Club Sub. While we were waiting for our order, the owner brought a sample (okay it wasn't just a sample but a full order) of their new Party Bread. WOW!! Garlic, cheese topping, buttery deliciousness on fresh dough. You definitely will not be disappointed by adding this to your personal menu options next time you come here! By the way, now we live in Saint Albans and still drive back here to Milton. The wait staff are friendly and quick to help with whatever you need. You will not be upset by visiting Giovanni's of Milton!!

We got seated and I ordered the Bad Shepherd Wolf Cuddles for a nice craft beer which is a Porter, it was not good at all. I love a good Porter but this was sour. Horrible beer choice for me. Then we each ordered ourselves our own personal pizza which I ordered a Nashville Hot Chicken pizza which a small is only 10" which was a perfect size. The pizza was amazing and I never like pickles on my pizza but this was done perfectly. The sauce, the ingredients and the crust was delicious. Definitely a really good spot to come and try out when you come visit.

Even once we were seated the server was telling us that the kitchen was a bit backed up so that is why our food was taking a little longer. Our waitress was nice and friendly. She gave us honest opinions about the items on the menu, which is always great to have. We ordered the Meggie's Bread Sticks with Cheese as our appetizer. It was delicious, especially with the added cheese. It came with some red sauce stuff to dip the bread sticks in. The pizza we got was the 14 inch Gladiator. It had 6 slices. It was good, but a bit messy (and hot when it first came out). At the end we ordered the Backyard Hay Stack (minus the nuts). That was really good as well and we devoured it. The ambience was good. It was a little loud, however it was crowded. There was a little astronaut theme going on here. I recommend coming to Backyard Pizza.

Sunday brunch order of waffles and scrambled eggs took 45 minutes from the kitchen. The best part is that it was cold. Perhaps the kitchen manager is under the impression that most patrons to brunch will be 2-3 mimosas deep and not notice the timing or the lack of any real flavor to the meal. I've had better brunch at any given roadside motel with "breakfast included". Slow Daddy's has better dinner food to be sure. What will prove to be the undoing is 45 minutes for a brunch order and a two hour wait for a dinner order from the kitchen.
