Cortnee has been coaching me for about 2.5 years, so this review is well overdue. I had never taken…read morevoice or guitar lessons before and wanted to improve both of these skills as a hobby and to reduce stress. She has really encouraged my growth as an artist well beyond the initial skills I set out to learn. She introduced me to song writing (I used to think I couldn't do this!), recording, and performing. All of these things have brought me a lot of joy and I am so thankful for her encouragement and growth mindset for me. My skills have improved quite a lot in comparison to the many years I was trying to self-teach and our lessons are great accountability for me to pick up the guitar regularly. I'm really thankful for Cortnee's guidance and kindness as a teacher and mentor.

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. Words cannot express how excellent of a…read moresinging/vocal coach Deborah is. In my mind, my experience with my voice is very palpable under her guidance. She knows I struggle to use my voice, so here it goes bec I finally dare to share my gratitude. Deborah is a kind and compassionate coach who understood my reluctance to sing and speak in public due to my subconscious fears now realized. She found a way to meet my voice where it was and gently yet patiently allowed me to explore it in a safe environment. I no longer believe my voice is a separate part of my body; instead, I feel it through my whole body, mind, AND spirit. And I don't think that my lessons with her are work - only fun. And as an adult, it seems I have lost my sense of play. However, my lessons with Deborah always remind me that it's time to play!

Justin started working with my 10 year old daughter virtually during the covid lockdown. She had a…read morevoice coach in the past and thought she knew what she was getting. To her surprise (and mine) Justin was very different from her previous coach, his lessons are focused around breathing. She has learned that singing is all about breathing. At first I just heard these weird breathing and strange noises coming from her during her lessons, there was no actually "singing". With time these strange sounds have taught her how to breath while singing, how to control her voice and project it without just being loud and shouting. We have noticed a remarkable difference. Since starting with Justin in Monterey we have moved to Southern California, she loved his lessons so much we decided to continue working with him virtually instead of finding someone local. We would nightly recommend Justin if your trying to bring your voice to the next level.

I have found that the longer I've worked with her, the more she learns about my voice and teaches me how to get the most out of it in a healthy way. Prior to taking lessons, my voice would always feel hoarse from improper singing technique. Now it feels stronger and healthier than it's ever been. Kat also does a great job of making her students feel comfortable when practicing/performing. Not easy to do, especially for singing! Her dog Fiona is also a great buddy to have for lessons :) My only complaint is that because I've improved so much under Kat, my family makes me sing for them as much as possible! Sometimes I need a break!
