Then, after driving all the way from mid-town Omaha, the person at the counter was not friendly or helpful. I asked about framing an embroidery piece I had finished and asked about having no glass in the frame. Then she said something like "well, it depends on if you want it to last or not." I said of course I wanted it to last and she said "you should get glass because yada yada yada." I should have left then. But against my better judgment and gut instinct, I asked for a quote and again she was pretty rude and answered "I'm happy to give you a quote but I am not doing any framing at this time." It was the tone of her responses that was just so rude. I guess the car accident she was in didn't just hurt her neck or whatever ability she had to frame items, but definitely injured any warmth, kindness, hospitality or helpfulness. I will not EVER darken her door again. Do NOT recommend this place.

She has a wonderfully organized, large display of samples that entice you and incite your own creativity. Julie herself, the owner, was there and happily helped us with answers to questions and purchases. This shop would become one of our go-to shops if we lived in the area.

We were in the area so decided to take a joint visit. Very cool of building with a huge variety of art on display and for sale. My favorite areas were the glass blowing and sheet metal/foundry areas. They were blowing glass during our visit. I was amazed at the amount of expensive equipment used, especially in the sheet metal and foundry. Free admission and well worth a visit if you have any interest at all in art.

Petshop recently expanded into two bays sharing the same strip of buildings as the Barley Street Tavern. A must visit during Benson First Friday, as Petshop tends to have higher quality works then, say, the window displays of nearby bars. It's places that this that foster local talent and expose the exhibiting artists to a wider audience, hopefully encouraging them to grow and continue on their exploits for years to come.

What…read morereally makes this special is that it's not the wall of acrylic that you would normally see when you go to buy yarn. This is all wool, beautiful colors and textures of wool yarn. Which, you might be surprised, is now softer and less scratchy than most acrylic yarns. Though some of these yarns are naturally at a somewhat higher price point than low-cost yarn at a big-box store, I was pleased to see that there really are budget-friendly items here. That it might be better to do a smaller project with high-quality yarn rather than buy a large quantity of cheap stuff. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It was so nice talking with her. She didn't make me feel like I was expected to make a purchase. Narrator: the reviewer did in fact make a purchase. So - we will see how this "magic loop" knitting works. Wish me luck!
