Every time I go for an appointment, I feel right at home and walk out with beautiful, healthy curls! After moving to Nashville I spent $$$ trying to find the perfect curl hair stylist. Went to more than a handful of "curl specialists", but none were quite right or did anything my curls needed. Although Jaclyn was about a 45 minute drive for me when I first started going, her process and knowledge for curly hair care made it worth it. I go every 13 weeks and I receive text confirmations as reminders. Not to mention Jaclyn is available text if I have a curl question. Every appointment is filled with genuine conversation (or serene solitude) and relaxation. She goes through what I liked about the growth and what I would like to do, while also giving me her recommendations to optimize my hair health and curl pattern. For new clients, she's very thorough and takes her time discussing your hair history, goals, while also teaching you styling techniques at the end of the appt. She is the first person I've gone to that has tried something new with my curls and actually has a plan to help them. And my curls have never felt better!

Hi ladies, I wanted…read moreto share my experience to raise awareness after receiving laser hair removal at Solo Skin Studio. In June 2024, I went in for my third laser hair removal session on my legs. During the treatment, I experienced extreme pain but was reassured that it was normal. Instead, I suffered severe burns that took years to heal. I was later told the laser settings used during my treatment were incorrect for my skin. It's now July 2026, and while my legs have healed significantly, I'm still left with permanent scarring. The burns were incredibly painful, and the emotional impact has been just as difficult. At the time, I was working as a TV meteorologist, and the scarring had a major impact on my confidence, both on and off camera. Solo Skin Studio did provide me with a full refund and offered additional treatments to address the scarring, but I no longer felt comfortable continuing treatment there. I'm not sharing this to be malicious--I simply want others to be aware of my experience so they can make an informed decision. I've included photos of both the healing process and what my legs look like today, over two years later.

Driving to Franklin for my appointments was making for some mighty long days, and Saturdays are coveted and sometimes unpredictable. So I knew I wanted to find someone in the Boro if nothing else. I learned about Studio L through a friend of mine...but we weren't friends yet. In fact, it was the first time I had ever met her and instead of saying the usual "Hi." or "Nice to meet you..." I just excitedly exclaimed, "Oh. My. GOSH! I love your hair!", then asked, "Where do you go?" Who knew almost a year later I'd need a new stylist? Bam. When I called Leanne (owner of Studio L), we discussed all the details about my "move", my hair, and set up an appointment for the following month. I learned that while it's not posted, she does have rather flexible hours. So when I said I'd prefer weeknight evening appointments over Saturdays, she said she is happy to work with me on scheduling. The studio is in a beautiful space just off of the Sqaure. There are two street parking spots directly in front of the salon with more street parking nearby. I maintain my hair color through root touch-ups about every 4-5 weeks. Since Salon L is a Paul Mitchell salon, and previous color applications were from Davines, I wasn't sure how it'd go with color matching. I'm happy to report it appears to be flawless thus far. Leanne finished my first appointment by styling my hair with a curling wand manufactured by Paul Mitchell. It gave my strands a nice beach wave. She even took the time to give me some instruction on how to use any wand to create the look, then allowed me to try it myself with her there to instruct/assist as needed. It was very helpful and much appreciated. (I'm a tomboy at heart, so I'm a little late to the hair and makeup party in a woman's life.) I feel as though the service and the pricing I received today were fair, and I look forward to going back for my next appointment.

I'll note I was looking for a haircut, grey coverage on roots and a partial highlight on ends. She could not be more sweet and kind! Did a wonderful job on haircut itself! That said, color was not good. Roots were light, warm, brassy.... Everything I did not want. That said, she owned it and apologized knowing she messed up. I was going to come back as she offered to fix. But when I did my hair for the first time since my appointment, I noticed she didn't cover my grays properly, lots still showing on the sides. Between those two mistakes I just didn't trust to come back again. I know she will be amazing the more experience she gets under her belt, but I just can't have my head be the guinea pig after a few mistakes already. I do recommend her for cuts and blowouts as nearly perfect, but if speaking for my experience only... more practice needed on color before I would recommend that. Salon overall is great! 3 stars and not less as she did own the mistakes and offered to try and fix.

It may be because she has blonde hair herself that she is so good at it, but she is able to get out all of my brassy tones and bring out the pretty blondes I really want. Though, she is not just great at blonde color as she has colored my hair red, dark brown and brought it all the way back to blonde again with a really pretty soft in between stage/color that received many compliments. I have really long hair and I like it to stay that way. This is why Jessica is the perfect cosmetologist because she ACTUALLY cuts hair to the length of your choosing instead of her own. Too many times, I have had my hair chopped off way shorter than I wanted it and wished the stylist would have listened to me. Jess always listens to what I want to do with my hair. Jessica also cuts my fiance's hair and he's been a client of hers for 5 years as well. He says he wouldn't go to anyone else now that he's met Jessica. She never cuts his hair too short where he doesn't like it. She's perfect! Besides the fact that she's so great at her job, she also seems to love it and is such a joy to be around every single time I come in to the salon.
