Ginger Café pleasantly surprised us from the moment we walked in. The sushi was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The team behind the sushi counter was fantastic: skilled, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their craft. Our waitress was a standout--bubbly, personable, and genuinely helpful with recommendations that hit the mark. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had a relaxed, intimate vibe that made the whole experience feel special. One thing that really stood out was the clientele. Everyone seemed down-to-earth, friendly, and respectful--just average folks enjoying good food. For Atascocita, it felt like a refreshingly diverse crowd, which added to the warm atmosphere. We did wish they had soda water on the menu, but honestly, that's a minor detail in an otherwise great experience. The daily specials were a nice touch, and the speed of service was on point--our food came out quickly without feeling rushed. The exterior doesn't quite reflect how cute and welcoming the interior is, so don't judge it by the outside. Cost was medium- for a sushi roll, drinks, appetizer and a shared meal we spent about 50$ but this was a lot of food. Ginger Café is worth checking out if you're in the area.

I came here because Tai Li was busy and ginger cafe seemed similar. This place has a few Japanese and Chinese dishes such as Lo mein, bento boxes, and sushi. I tried the seaweed salad and caterpillar roll. The seaweed salad was quite good with a topping of masago, and the caterpillar roll tasted great. The only thing I found a bit odd was the shrimp on the caterpillar roll, which wasn't cut up properly and also wasn't in the menu description. Other than that I enjoyed the visit. The decor is cute and our server Spencer also spoke Mandarin Chinese which was a plus for my grandfather!

We tried several items and all were GREAT! My favorite was the tempura jalapeño... Service was great and all the food arrived hot!

Our absolute favorite sushi place in Humble!! Sushi is always so fresh and the best quality. Service is exceptional every time! There are about 15 tables inside plus the bar top seating. Smaller more intimate restaurant. They have 2 other locations in the kingwood area.

I wanted to love this place. Unfortunately they fell short. Food didn't taste fresh. Ordered a bento box and the general tso chicken tasted like chicken nuggets drowned in a very not general tso sauce. Rice was luke warm and mushy. The best part of my order was the gyoza but how can one mess that up. I ordered the fried octopus balls... very weird wet consistency and different from other places I've tried. They served my bento box and my friends food for whatever reason they though was to go so his didn't come until ten minutes later. Idk why though lol it was only us and one other party there. As far as cleanliness idk. There's a lot of random things collecting dust in thick layer not being cleaned off and the window where we sat was gross like someone spilled stuff and they never cleaned it. Then, what I think is the owner, stood near the sushi rolling guys chatting. The gentlemen passes him a sushi pocket to eat right then and there.. neither cleaned their hands or anything when the owner had just come from somewhere outside. And then the gentlemen proceeds to roll sushi for guests. This place had decent reviews but I think people just don't know quality Will not return.

Great sushi, great bento boxes...must try if your in the Atascocita area. Sushi chefs are next level for this area. You won't find any better on the north side of Houston.

The best sushi in the Kingwood area. Good service, and the owner is regularly on hand so it's consistently a good experience.

Taste of Korea - Pan fried dumplings with dipping sauce

We had a great turnout for our monthly lunchtime meetup of friends and I think everyone enjoyed…read moretheir food at A Taste of Korea over in Atascocita. It's a small "mom & pop" restaurant with the owners taking orders, cooking everything up, and delivering hot food from the kitchen. Our group of 13 ordered a mix of their menu offerings; I had the pan fried dumplings, which was a healthy portion of 10 and can be a great sharing appetizer. Then I had the Jajangmyeon, which is fermented black beans with pork, vegetables and udon style noodles and my wife had the shrimp tempura lunch box entree which was a great assortment. Our friends got various hearty soups as well as the super heated hot stone bowl to keep us all warm on a cold day. Several of our friends tried different hearty soups, one had the hot stone bowl entree and the food was sizzling in the super hot bowl. As I said, this is a classic "mom & pop" restaurant where the owners greet you and get you a table, then they take orders, cook the food in their kitchen and bring it all out to the table! They were always checking to see if we needed drink refills or anything else to go with our lunch. I am so glad we tried this place and will be back as they have so many interesting things we want to try on future visits! Before leaving, I used the restroom and it was spotless as was the kitchen as I walked by and thanked the owner chef. The restaurant is on 1960 at Timber Forest and has plenty of parking in the well lighted parking lot.

I tried Taste of Korea for the first time and I liked it. The establishment is very clean and that…read morereally adds to the dining experience. I ordered the hot stone mixed rice and it was yummy. I did notice it wasn't as spicy as I am used to so I asked for more of the hot pepper paste. The paste itself is what wasn't super hot but it was still good. Food was also served quickly so I appreciate that. I also ordered a dish to go. The black bean noodles were slightly less flavorful than what we are used to but they were still good. The main drawback though is they did not give any side dishes for the to go item which is interesting. You don't pay less for it and I'm not sure why it wasn't included. I've never had Korean takeout where they did not include any side dishes on a to go order. All in all, the first visit was more a 3.5 but out of good faith, we will call it a 4 star. They did seem to cater to many regulars so it's possible the dishes are toned down for locals? Not sure though. Again, food was good but as someone who is part Korean, the dishes were not as flavorful as I am used to. I would likely eat here again but not sure this would really satisfy the craving for Korean dishes specifically.
