Hi All, So, I went to Yelp seeking an appointment with…read moresomeone to help with my hair. Been going to the same person for 20+ years but the quality has been declining. I needed something more. Color primarily, but whatever else they could offer was welcome. A few hair dressers on Yelp reached out, one being Hair by Cody Rae in Boerne, TX. So, I researched and decided to go with her. Heavy sigh of relief The absolute best experience! She listened, observed and decided on a plan that worked out perfectly. So pleased with her work! I have my next appointment booked. Give her a try but please leave an opening for me!

I have gotten so many compliments since having it done, and it looks beautiful both curled and straight. She is personable and sweet, but also gifted in her craft! I felt that she took her time with my hair and carefully considered the placement of the color. Her pricing is extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality of her work. I spent a lot of time deciding on a balayage artist and I couldn't be happier that I chose Brittney. I will definitely be going back to her to maintain my beautiful color.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experiences at this salon, particularly when it comes to pricing…read moreand transparency. During my appointments, additional services were presented in a very casual, friendly way--things like, "This would look great on you," or suggestions that sounded like part of the service rather than a clear explanation that each addition would result in another charge. Then getting to the checkout and suddenly I'm looking at a bill that is $500. If this had happened once, I might have chalked it up to a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, I experienced this three separate times. At no point did I feel there was adequate transparency about what each suggested service would cost or what my total would be before proceeding. What was even more disappointing was that I reached out directly to the owner, Barbi, to discuss my concerns and give her an opportunity to address the situation privately. I received no response. After experiences like this and no response from the owner, I will not be returning. I would recommend spending your money somewhere that clearly communicates pricing and makes sure you understand what you're agreeing to before the service is performed.

Jenessa, she is new to the salon so she started on my service and then the Big Bosses, Nicole Brewington and Lauren Stanfield made sure that every step from taking 5 inches off, adding layers, cutting bangs and curling my hair one or both was involved at all times. It asked specific questions about my hair care, styling preferences and hair desires/goals. I've never had a salon ask for that info but it shows they really care and want to make clients happy. The salon was very clean and the atmosphere was relaxing. They had a great selection of teas and coffee and lemon ice water. I feel like Reagan did a very thorough job on my high and low lights and a trim. Best part was the scalp massage!! Overall I was pleased with the experience and my hair turned out great! I thought it was really unique that J Salon has their own line of hair products. The owner works with a chemist to create a variety of hair products at a reasonable price.
