First impression after walking in; I love the variety of products they offer. After checking in for my first visit I was really impressed with the intake form they asked me to complete. It asked specific questions about my hair care, styling preferences and hair desires/goals. I've never had a salon ask for that info but it shows they really care and want to make clients happy. The salon was very clean and the atmosphere was relaxing. They had a great selection of teas and coffee and lemon ice water. I feel like Reagan did a very thorough job on my high and low lights and a trim. Best part was the scalp massage!! Overall I was pleased with the experience and my hair turned out great! To be clear, this salon does perform quality services. I have always been happy with my hair. This review is based on this most recent experience. I had an appointment booked for 7/19, to take care of my hair before vacation. I got a call today, 6/26 canceling that appointment because the stylist is now unavailable. Which is completely understandable, what am disappointed in, is the lack of effort or flexibility in getting me rescheduled. The salon is the one canceling on me--it would be nice if there was some flexibility or ability to work with me to get a new date booked. I was very impressed with the salon and the staff working there. My first visit was wonderful! All of the staff were very kind and everyone looked happy to be there. The facility is clean and comfortable. I felt relaxed and pampered! I requested for a natural looking haircut: a healthy trim with face framing curtain bangs that smoothly transition into long layers. I wanted to remove majority of my split ends and damaged hair. My stylist Reagan was nice and very pleasant to talk to. She listened well to my concerns and wants. She also collaborated with me on the style and gave fantastic suggestions. I think she's a great stylist because she follows through with the plan discussed which in turn ends with great results! Overall, I say 10/10; would recommend!!! read more

I've been going to J Salon for a good 2+ years now and have been to almost every stylists (usually I go to whoever has an opening). Such friendly staff, amazing products, and always willing to help. They offer tea, water, coffee during which is refreshing. Great conversations, and I never feel judged or belittled like many other salons I have been to in the past. No one is every pushy or makes snide comments... I mean these ladies truly are so professional, constantly learning with ongoing training/classes to perfect their craft. 10/10 recommend this business! Writing this only to emphasize i truly think my stylist was amazing and did a job well done. I did thought want to ask why the person in the chair beside her continued to tell her to leave my bleach on for an extended amount of time, and disregarding the two of us explaining to her it was a simple lift. I never desired to be blonde or even light brown. I was attempting to match the color of my roots and i lift with bleach fairly fast and Im a bit of a challenge to neutralize/ tone. The bleach lofted me to in some places a 9 which was extremely unnecessary and due to the employee beside my chair who kept saying to "just leave it". My hair was already damaged but was healthy and strong at the top of my head. My appointment was paid by the hour and I remained in foils from 940-1230. That is far too long and i did feel quite ignored when i would say i think i want them out. My bill was 600$ and i tipped 25 i would have given more to my stylist if she hadn't been influenced so heavily by the woman who i guess? Has more experience. My hair broke off completely, about two inches from my scalp. It has been three months since my appointment and ive seen extremely little growth. I have used k18, olaplex, lanza, verb, redken and ive seen little to no improvement. My hair is course and dark, im italian, but has always lightened in the sun and grown fairly fast. I am at around the same length i was in august when this happened. Im shoulder length simce the appointment and i have never been more uncomfortable with my hair. Even though i did love the color she did, i returned my hair to black because of how choppy the cut has to be. Its honestly given me a load of stress this fall i did not appreciate, not for 600$ i feel like i paid for nothing, and would have rather gotten extensions and stayed dark. I was offered no refund just a correction. I dont trust them to correct it and even when they did trim it up for me it actually cut against the curl of my hair and left more stunt to the growing process. My hair today has a ton of red underneath the black. I had not died my hair red since about 2018 so i was quite confused as to why so much was shining thru. I believe they used a shades eq gloss to tone and I believe they used the wrong one! I also let them now shades eq tends to wash out of my hair fairly quickly and would prefer a harsher toner, i again was told im not a professional. These women need better training if they are charging these prices. I don't do hair but this is actually seemingly such a bad job, i dont believe i could have messed up my hair this bad on my own lol it gives off a scam type of vibe. read more

I got a full highlight a few days ago and asked for a very bright blonde. Leaving the chair I was very disappointed. I have a big patch of brown in the front of my hair that the stylist missed. The color was not what I wanted and at the end of the appointment, I couldn't even get my hair curled because the next client was waiting. Also couldn't ask for her to fix the brown spot due to this. I was very upset when the price came out to $270 when on the website they have it labeled as $150 for a full highlight. The gloss and the extra bowl cost more which I was not made aware of at all. Overall very disappointed and felt like I wasted a lot of money here. read more

I called on a whim today to see if they had availability - I lucked out and got an appointment with Jaimee about an hour after I called. J Salon had a very welcoming vibe - they have good music, an oil diffuser, and comfy chairs. Jaimee was able to start my hair early and carefully listened to what I was looking for, and even offered a few suggestions/ideas of her own. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. Jillyn is a miracle worker! She's always able to take my 'mom hair' and make it something more modern still comfortable for me. I keep wondering why my experience was so different than other customers who rave about J Salon. I received a 50% off coupon in the mail for all services at J Salon. I made an appointment with Andee for full color. The salon is beautiful and Alexis was very welcoming. I brought a bottle of the color I use which is plum/violet/burgundy and Andee and I with the help of Jillian selected a color which would match. Andee is very friendly and personable and I enjoyed the light conversation. As she applied the dye I saw no evidence of any color and she said it takes time for the color to absorb. My hair was dark brown and has gray underneath the brown. We discussed gray coverage prior to choosing the color. When she washed out the dye my hair was dark brown very close to the same color when I arrived. At least 3 times while I was waiting for the color to appear on my head Jillian walked by and talked to Andee about my hair. She never introduced herself or acknowledged my presence. She knew I was a new customer. When I asked Andee why I didn't see any color she said it would take time to absorb. Five days later I called and asked to speak with her. Alexis took the message and I explained about the lack of color and dye was left on my ears and face. Alexis asked Jamee about the dye on my face and I was told to use hydrogen peroxide. I stated clearly I did not want money back and just wanted to discuss this with Andee. I never recieved a call back. The dye on my ears lasted more than a week and hydrogen peroxide did not make any difference. My hair color remained dark brown and the color we agreed was never visible. Three weeks after the color treatment pops of gray showed up. All I wanted was a call back. It is reasonable to expect when you provide color sample which has worked each and every time that professionals would know exactly what to do. Sadly that was not my experience. read more

The owner Jlynne, does the best hair. I have been going here since it opened and have always loved my hair. The problem is that she double books people, so I'm often left waiting while she finishes up. I started calling ahead to make sure she's on time, before I spend 20-30 minutes waiting for her to finish the last client. She also has an attitude if you question her about how long things are taking. She makes rude comments and has a surly demeanor while styling. I'm finished with her juvenile behavior and will not be going to this salon again. If you have all the time in the world, don't mind being double booked, and are fine with being treated rudely then I would recommend this salon. As I've stated, she does great hair. read more
