Went here August 2017 on recommendation from our AirBnB host. She said it had opened about two weeks before. Which explained why it had no reviews yet, and hadn't been added to TripAdvisor.
My husband and I enjoyed the place enough that we went back a 2nd time later in the week.
Typical friendly Irish crowd. Low key service. The kind of place where (if it's slow) the bartender puts your Guiness on the bar and you get up from your table to fetch it.
The first night I ordered the crispy duck in orange sauce and my husband ordered the lamb. (Yes, in Ireland, pub food includes duck/orange sauce and roasted lamb.) The duck was good, but the lamb was very, very good. Thus, our return visit later in the week -- I wanted some of that lamb!
Our first visit was late on a rainy weeknight. There were just a few customers. We were jet lagged, and happy to have a low key experience (with great food). The second visit was during a football semi-final. Big crowd, all the TV's on, waiters rushing around like mad trying to keep up. A very typical Irish experience. We were glad we went back the 2nd time and saw this place when it was lively. read more
